Lexington, KY - All Paul supporters were denied

The Fayette County KY GOP Convention was held in Lexington, KY. At this convention it was made known that they would not name any delegates that put principle over party.

Anyone who was a Ron Paul supporter was denied, after going through the proper channels, delegation at the conventions. All others were allowed. Empty slots were left unfilled even after we protested.

At least 2 of the people that were denied are Vets, and had not campaigned nor donated to a non-republican. Both support Ron Paul.

This ranks up there

with the Judge telling Irwin Schiff "I WILL NOT ALLOW THE CONSTITUTION IN MY COURTROOM!"

Rights are like muscles; you must exercise them to keep them fit, or they will atrophy and die.

Letter from Rand to the RPK

But also take note: SOME RON PAUL SUPPORTERS FROM FAYETTE COUNTY WERE DISQUALIFIED EVEN THOUGH THEY DID NOT SIGN KEN'S PETITION.

This doesn't surprise me

I tried for months to get someone to help me itno the process and move forward. To no avail. Unfortunately it was an example of poor organization.

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

...they would not name any delegates that put principle over party.

I am both disgusted and without words.

What Is The GOP So Scared Of?

You'd think Dr. Paul were running on a platform of single-payer healthcare, doubling the corporate tax rate, and having Lawrence O'Donnell be his running mate.

It seems to me Rand Paul

gop establishment

gop establishment is campaigning hard for Obama!! Ron Paul 2012

Ron Paul 2016

I am not an expert but I have a little experience

I am not sure exactly what was voted on the first time, but there could have been a motion to ammend the list of delegates to include those present. This motion would have needed to be voted on prior to voting on the final list of delegates.

The main problem at this convention was that Ron Paul friendlies were in the minority and as long as the neocons follow the rules, there isn't much that can be done after the fact.

The lesson from this should be that in order to change the GOP, we are going to need more help and work within the GOP. Hopefully by them being exposed to us, they will morph into friends of liberty as well.

Now there will be a lot of empty seats to fill at the state convention. Perhaps other counties had a better showing of Ron Paul supporters and got a full slate of alternates that could be seated at the convention. Perhaps some of you could show up and attend as an observer and get selected from the floor as delegates.

This

is disgusting. It is time to go undercover. Lie, lie, lie and tell them you are not a Ron Paul supporter.

wow

Can't belive more did not happen.

Just ignoreed!

PLEASE! - Someone who really knows Robert's Rules...

Examine this video closely and determine if something illegal was done.

I just don't understand the rules well enough to know.

I mean - When the motion to vote on the slate was (supposedly) approved, (which is probably what the GOP wanted), then did that NEGATE all following motions - like the one where that guy suggested that those in attendance get delegate consideration first?

If it was done correctly, then we have no argument.

But if it wasn't, then it should NULL AND VOID all the delegates "elected."

It seems weird to me (if this was a county caucus), that it appeared they brought in names of delegates ALREADY CHOSEN EARLIER. Like WHEN and HOW?

I thought delegates to the state were selected AT the county caucuses.

What's going on here?

Unless this was some sort of after-caucus special meeting of republicans for discussion or something. I have no idea.

"We have allowed our nation to be over-taxed, over-regulated, and overrun by bureaucrats. The founders would be ashamed of us for what we are putting up with."
-Ron Paul

That was wierd

Apparently, no one in that room knew Robert's Rules, the Paul people included. There were 3 motions in play at once. You can't just say "I move that we...." as a matter of getting the floor for debating.

Then, the motion to approve the slate needs to come from the body and seconded. The next person needed to debate, you can't "amend" a slate once approval has been motioned. There is nothing to amend. You could call for "suspend the rules" to appeal for individual elections or a slate consisting of attendees only - but that takes a 2/3 vote which I don't think they had.

Basically, as with every caucus, it is about NUMBERS. If you don't have a majority to vote down the rules and electa a chair - you are done for.

"In the beginning of a change the patriot is a scarce man, and brave, and hated and scorned. When his cause succeeds, the timid join him, for then it costs nothing to be a patriot."--Mark Twain

Here's a paste of the comment under the video which sounds

like it came from someone who may know the rules.....

From Youtube postings under above reference video:

he Rules require a Majority Vote to Amend the Motion which the Chair did not allow. She should have asked for the Amended Motion to be seconded, taken a vote, if there was a majority for a NEW slate with debated stipulations, then there should have been a new slate put forth, plain and simple. This is the TYPICAL GOP

It makes me wonder how much these GOP insiders do not give a care about their country.

sovereign

This is the beginning of their new strategy

We have to overcome this and change our strategy. We are going to have to go in a pretend we don't support Dr. Paul until the last second.

It is time to make your facebook and other accts. private.

Friends only. Take down any political profile pictures. These people are getting scared and will do anything. They will look your name up and see if you "look like" you could be a Paul supporter. If you look young, put for your profile picture your dog or your child or niece or nephew or your car. This sounds paranoid, I know, but we have to be two steps ahead of them.

What? The KY GOP tells you who the nominees are?

Instead of taking nominations from those attending?

That's corrupt!

Get over it.

There was a clear majority that supported the approved agenda.
In the state of Rand Paul, the young supporters couldn't find time to show up.

I am fully aware of the struggles that the Paul supporters are having in KY. And it appears that instead of hardening their resolve, many have quit.

This is beginning to feel

This is beginning to feel more than fraud. It's discrimination, and it's time the GOP explains itself.

Doesn't this requirement violate pary rules?

If so, petition with the state GOP to decertify the results. If they refuse, sue or take the issue to the national convention. This happened in 1964 with the black "freedom Democrats" and THEY were seated rather than the official delegation. I'd also contact the ACLU.

"Moderates" and "Big Government Conservatives" loyal? Look how John McCain disparage GOP Senate candidates in Nevada and Delaware. Look how Lisa Murkowski came back with a "write in" campaign to defeat the GOP nominee in Alaska. This scum doesn't know the meaning of the word "loyalty," unless it means "They win".

I'll 2nd Bob's points

hopefully there is a lawyer in your group who can do a suit pro-bono or you can get the ACLU to take it Win or lose, it is done routinely (as recently as Perry in VA). Probably want to hold a press conference too when the suit is filed.

Not ACLU, ACLJ

You don't want the stigma of the ACLU involved. Instead, go with ACLJ (American Center for Law and Justice).
