Ron Paul "Family Ties" become a campaign issue.

[Good; now the "Good Doctor" has a good excuse to fire Jesse Benton}

Report: Campaign funds become ‘a family affair’
Group questions payments to relatives

By Chuck Neubauer The Washington Times

Sunday, March 25, 2012

Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul used campaign funds to pay salaries and fees to more members of his own family than any other lawmaker in the House, according to a recently released report, handing over more than $300,000 during the 2008 and 2010 election cycles.

The Committee to Re-elect Ron Paul paid salaries to his daughter, his grandson, his daughter’s mother-in-law, his granddaughter, his grandson-in-law and “another relative,” said a report released Thursday by the Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW). In addition, according to the report, campaign funds were used to pay his brother’s accounting firm more than $48,000.

I find it significant

that they lead the article with Dr. Paul's expenses which are in reality not controversial. They must need the hits on their website and they want to convey that somehow Dr. Paul is just as sleazy as many of his colleagues. In this they have failed as they will always fail.

As for Jesse Benton it is my opinion that he is doing an excellent job as campaign chairman and as has been pointed out it is a sensitive position that must be held by someone trustworthy. It is also not a good idea to throw dirt on the campaign. We have enough people doing that without doing it ourselves. It cannot help efforts to elect Ron Paul.

"Jesus answered them: 'Truly, truly, I say to you, everyone who commits sin is a slave to sin. The slave does not remain in the house forever; the son remains forever. So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.'" (John 8:34-36)

If Family Members Support Ron Paul, They Should Be Rewarded.

Who can be trusted now-a-days more than a family member?

No One !

I am not sure this is a . . .

real concern. Bob-45, that is not directed at you; you often have good OPs.

Just . . . I sort of think this is a moot point. The idea that families can't work together is sad.

it's hard to be awake; it's easier to dream--

From the very same article

Gary Howard , press secretary for the Paul campaign, dismissed the CREW report, calling it a “sad attempt … to grab cheap headlines.” He said Mr. Paul’s campaigns have raised more than $100 million during the last five years and employed hundreds if not thousands of people.

“Family members have received a tiny fraction of one percent of jobs and salaries,” he said.

Mr. Paul was one of 82 members — 40 Democrats and 42 Republicans — who paid family members salaries or fees mainly through their campaign funds, which is legal if they are paid a fair market rate for the work.

Not a word about

the Campaign having zero debt.

Smart man!

And it sounds like they are working for peanuts on top of it. 300,000 dollars split how many ways during two different elections? Peanuts! Smart asset management.

If I disappear from a discussion please forgive me. My 24-7 business requires me to split mid-sentence to serve them. I am not ducking out, I will be back later to catch up.

This reminds me of that one article

They did a while back that had the headline 'Ron Paul flies first class on taxpayer dime!!' when in reality, he buys a coach ticket and upgrades to first class using his miles, which is completely free. Any time a hit job this obvious and this pathetic comes out it makes me chuckle because I picture some angry newspaper editor like the guy from spiderman slamming his fist on the desk and saying 'we need some dirt on this Ron Paul guy!!', and then the poor reporter searches and searches, and this is the best he can come up with.

Tu ne cede malis sed contra audentior ito

Unfortunately there are enough zombies that will believe a hen is a rooster just because they were told so. I liked the rumor that he was too old, Not one of the other candidates could even get close to keeping up with the fireball of energy named Paul,Lol.

It's out there, not hidden. Is it illegal?

He's a family man with a talented and industrious extended family.

The things that are "exposed" about Ron Paul are so ridiculous especially considering the shenanigans of others.

The law cannot make a wicked person virtuous…God’s grace alone can accomplish such a thing.

Setting a good example is a far better way to spread ideals than through force of arms. Ron Paul

Nepotism Rules Baby!

Ron Paul's family actually supports him, and put their lives aside to campaign for him. Not like Santorums nephew who endorsed Ron Paul.

This reads like some folks I know from '08

Go away and cry to someone else...no one is buying it.

"No army can stop an idea whose time has come"

So What. He's not breaking any law.

He SHOULD have the biggest bill as he's running for President.
Up their's.

Considering what he

is up against, I would only trust family too. Look how easy it was to infiltrate the tea party and take it over, that was a real eye opener.

My thoughts exactly

After the lengths of corrupt maneuvers the GOP and RNC have gone through trying to shut him down,

Can anyone blame him for only trusting his family and hiring as many of them as he can to oversee everything?

Don't you get it Bob-45?
Are you really listening still to the MSM for intelligence reports?

He's just pointing out an article for Pete's sake

Jesse Benton is worth every cent that he's paid.

I sure they all are.

His family members WORK for the campaign, yet they are not entitled to be compensated? There is not one word about Ron paying family members to take vacations, or donating to pet charities, or any other slimy behavior.

I Trust Ron's Judgement
