Warning: Do not take photos at any national park or government building, or financial building et al

A close personal friend of mine recently was given confirmation that they were put on a watch list, but deemed "not a threat" by DHS. His perceived crime? Taking pictures of a dam and of family and friends in the area of a dam in my home state after a family member's funeral.

For over a year his mail has been opened and searched. Photos taken, anything of value seized, like coins. And he was also informed by the source that his phone conversations were also tapped, and that they have our conversations recorded. I can't say that I am currently under surveillance, but am at least when I communicate with the individual.

PLEASE do not take ANY photos of yourself or anyone else, or any photos of any government building, park, resource et al.

It was said that there is a process for getting off of this list, and the person is considering undertaking it. But understand this is NOT America anymore! I am not kidding, this is not a joke, this is the country in which we live...

Then it's time to do the opposite!

Everyone get out every chance you get, and take as many pictures of our national parks and beautiful government buildings!!! Snap those pics and share with everyone! Send them to Cuba and China if you can make some friends there too! Time to break the matrix!

I advise you to do just the

I advise you to do just the opposite of what the OP suggests: DO take pictures. Quit being sheep and RESIST! By acquiescing to the demands of the Gestapo, you are tacitly giving your approval. Stop doing that.
Ask yourself whether the sacrifice of a little inconvenience is worth it to preserve our liberties. You had better start thinking about where you draw the line.

It's not a "little inconvienience"

Can I steal your property and invade your privacy? Okay. Now the point of this post is to warn people that this IS happening to people in America today, for seemingly innocent activities. Just imagine how many people are vulnerable to this kind of abuse, people need to know.

Your close friend

Needs to buy a gun and grow a backbone

And that would help why?

What are you gonna do, threaten a postal carrier? Or DHS? What does that accomplish exactly.

And it can't happen

soon enough for me! About a month ago, I had a dream that Ron Paul had just been elected president. He was giving a speech before a large crowd. We were all so happy and everyone was cheering. I want that!

Sorry. The post above was meant to be

a reply to "This is all going to change when President Paul takes office". I'm not sure how it ended up on top.

Until Proven Otherwise

Until proven otherwise, will be taking whatever pictures that I want.

Don't fear the camera.

Thanks for the report I guess, even though, suspiciously off-rocker. Appears to be a fear tactic of some sort... brought to you by, h'mmm, "undisclosed", at this time.

I will do just the opposite

I will do just the opposite and show the bully's I am not afraid. Civil Disobedience is the only way to make these thugs back down. I refuse to be cow towed by these tyrants.

I like that

and will join you in that. Plenty of nice photo-ops next time at the Hoover Dam!!

There is definetly a police training video about this very thing

There was a girl taking pictures of a dam and was questioned but ultimately only considered a "Level 3 terrorist". I can't find it. Somebody will remember it and hopefully find it though.

Anybody finds that...

post it and let me know...

I'm calling bullshit on this.

I'm calling bullshit on this. Millions of people take pictures on Govt. parks and property yearly and they're not on a watch list.

There is no way that taking family pictures after a funeral landed him on a watch list.

So what's the rest of the story?

The great thing about

The great thing about ridiculous laws, is that you can selectively enforce them. Kind of like the tax code. You only arrest people hostile to the status quo.

gold = money
war = health of the state
liberty = prosperity

I invite you

to try the same, have your mail opened and your property stolen. Call my bluff and take a chance... I'll be waiting to see if you are exempted and this is BS like you say it is...

Have courage? Go ahead....

Agreed. Over 17 million people visited DC in 2010. I bet a HUGE majority of them took pictures of monuments, buildings, the white house, etc.

Using this rationale, "the list" could be compiled by perusing people's vacation photos on Flickr.

Save Trouble

Actually, now I think of it, we should just post photos online so that anyone can get them. Heck, Google Street View is pretty good. No need for terrorists to take photos.

I wonder if this applies to

I wonder if this applies to drawing? Or is this also forbidden by our terror-smitten government?

Wrong Advice

I say, let's all go take pictures of all federal buildings, everywhere! Smile!

I was in Moldova in about 2005

and I saw the US Embassy. Its a very small Embassy so I thought I would take a picture. When I held up my camera I was immediately rushed by two Moldovan police officers. The girl I was with explained that I was a foreigner and that I didn't know any better preventing my camera from being confiscated or me being arrested.

I commented afterward to her that such a thing would NEVER happen in America. I said we are proud of our public buildings and proud when someone takes a photo of them.

That was before the balance of authoritarianism in Moldova sunk lower than our own level of fascism in the US.

(By the way - in Moldova you can't even take a photo of the menu at McDonalds - evidently they fear spies from Burger King.)

That happened to my friend in

That happened to my friend in Germany. She's German and took a picture of the American embassy and German cops came out of nowhere and took her camera. America's bootlicking lackeys I guess. The CIA rules the world.

we oughtta flash mob every

dam, building and the like . Hell, at least make em work for the pay.

Our once beloved nation is but a fading memory.

LOve the R3volution

If innocent photographers get damned for shooting the dang dam,

then it's long past time that every dang dam in the whole dammed-up country gets a darn, dang dam-jamming!

Google Wolf Creek Dam...

Then Google Nashville flood. Apparently something is going on that somebody doesn't want people to know. It looks like insurance fraud. People are denied insurance, they release pressure from the dam, people's property is flooded, but the people get no insurance claim and are SOL... Ask around Nashville, they will tell you all about it. Were talking billions of dollars and possibly wiping out a major American city. Would they try to keep that under wraps, do you trust the government to tell you about something like that?

Should we lick their boots while we're bowing and scraping?

The way you gum up the works is to have everybody take photos of every government building. There aren't enough agents or dollars to follow everyone.

I've posted this link before to a column by Gary North,

This is ALL going to change

when President Paul takes office!

Way to think "outside the box"

If anyone...

has a similar experience, or knows of someone who has, please share it with me... I am willing to correspond with you in private as I try to investigate this.

This is INSANE!!
