Gingrich to lay off one-third of campaign staff

Facing the reality of plummeting poll numbers and dwindling financial resources, Newt Gingrich's presidential campaign announced Tuesday evening it would be cutting back on staff and curtailing the former House Speaker's public appearances.

Spokesman RC Hammond told CBS News the campaign would lay off around one-third of its staff.

Meanwhile, Ron Paul grass root supporters just raised another $1M money-bomb.

I am trying to do the math.

I am trying to do the math. So, if he got rid of one third of the staff, does that mean only 2 are left? or 1? Damn public school math.

If you walk blindly through life, you will run into a lot of walls.

I thought it was Romney who

I thought it was Romney who liked to fire people.

Stop feeding the propaganda machine. Turn off your TV.

I thought Newt would be all

I thought Newt would be all over Rick?

nah.. he knows Santorum

nah.. he knows Santorum doesn't stand a chance. Newt and Rick are friends, but no reason to let that get in the way of realpolitik.

Notwithstanding This News

I don't see Gingrich dropping out before April 24, if at all.

Politico also reported

that he had fired and replaced his campaign manager..

Big Question, DELegeates

I think the Big Question is if he were to drop out of the race, who would those already chosen delegates vote for, and who will his supporters now support?
I think, hope, that he supports Santorum, to keep Romney further away from the 1144, but better yet, would be to hae some of his followers, especially on economic policy, to come over to Paul.

But Ye, who does a Gingrich Delegate vote for?

Go Newt!

Oh, wait a minute, don't go. We need you to stay in the race to help thwart Romney.

New Hampshire and Ecuador.

And one of three absolute sure take it to Vegas candidates who cannot win. The south despises Romney. The North despises Santorum. Everyone despises Gingrich, and oh my goodness, if you ever googled him a few times... you'd know why! Mr. Newt World Order! I'd swear, if I didn't know any better, this is a totally rigged ticket!

No...I think Newt is in it for Newt. Apparently when Newt was

a young professor, who taught for one year, he applied to be something high up (I forget) if it was like Chancellor or even maybe president of the college. He wants to have big ideas and that's his thing.

I think ur right. Evthing Newt's done in his life has been done

for reasons other than principle, legal/illegal, or loyalty. The infamous lobbyist, fmr. jail-bird, Abramnoff said, "When Newt was in congress he was probably the easiest man to buy." I think Santorum is a Newt wanna-be.

No one can speculate on what Newt will do because even Newt doesn't know. He will sell out to the highest bidder when the time comes.
