This means

39% of Republicans want Ron Paul to stay in! WOW - This is AWESOME! ... that's ALMOST 40% ... we could get 20% of Dems in the General election and at least 50+% of Independents OBAMA Loses! YES! ... This is great news - Santorum people need to just admit their guy would never get any Dems or Independents and Rick loses to Obama - The only candidate that can beat Obama is Ron Paul - who cares about the 61% of Republicans - 40% of those people will vote Republican even if Genghis Khan was the Nominee against Obama... _ I know 2 people like that - They don't like Ron Paul's Foreign Policy but they WOULD DEFINITELY vote for him over Obama NO DOUBT - I asked them - they said they would hold their nose and do what they did in 2008.

"Many of us agree that you and I have no right to use coercion against people who don't owe us anything. The same prohibition applies to groups of people who constitute the government. The reason is simple: unjust acts do not become just when legalized. "

Who Cares?

He's irrelevant, you know.

The way I see it 61%

We are really making progress !!!!

61% is what most people would get on their report card on subjects related to politics.

Did CNN's Dana Bash

Did CNN's Dana Bash vote in that survey, or did she just conduct it.

"61%" of Stupid Party membership favor Ron Paul withdrawal!

It is so wonderful to be popular. I remember a time, not so long ago, when barely one percent of the GOP even knew Ron Paul's name, much less had the faintest idea of what he stands for.

As a long term libertarian, and a supporter of free markets, private property, and uncoerced exchange, I think that they, and we, can come to an agreement even here. I don't hold out any hope for their upholding the agreement, but I submit it for the purposes of illustration of the market's power to resolve even irreconciliable differences and conflicts.

We should be happy to close down the Ron Paul run for Presidency if the existing elected and appointed officials (especially the GOP) were to share our hero's unshakable commitments to the limits to government imposed by the Constitution AS WRITTEN, along with the broadest possible individualist interpretation of its Bill of Rights!

This would include, but not be limited to:

1) Unilateral withdrawal from and closure of ALL military and support bases outside the territory of the United States.

2) Defunding Homeland Security and the dreadful TSA, and end to the war-on-terror, repeal the "patriot act" and its additions, and restore the civil rights enjoyed by Americans before 9-11, Stop treating us American TAXPAYERS as "terrorists"!

3) Legalize all controlled substances, or at least leave regulation of their manufacture and sale to the several States. Honor all State initiatives on "medical marijuana" and other initiatives, disband the programs funding DEA, the antidrug offices in State and local "law-enforcement", and FBI.

4) Complete and unanimous approval by you anti-Ron Paul people of Ron Paul's suggestion of a public, independent and total audit of the FED, with an eye toward ending any influence that this direputable band of frauds, counterfeiters, and embezzlers had in the exceedingly important areas of monetary, banking, and credit in the market, and establishing the sound money authorized by the Constitution.

5)Immediate lifting of sanctions and embargoes against Cuba, North Korea, Iran and other countries, along with withdrawal from the IMF, the UN, the WTO, and any and all organizations whose membership or participation restricts, inhibits, or compromises our National soverignty in ANY way. Lift "diplomatic immunity" from officials of those transnational mafias so that said officials who have violated American law may be arrested, prosecuted, and--upon conviction--punsihed on U.S. soil.

6) Repeal the XVI Amendment, the Federal Income Tax, and replace it with NOTHING! The money raised by the Federal Income Tax doesn't seem to go for any purposes authorized by the Constitution anyhow, and the Feds shouldn't be either raising it (by a "fair tax" or any other way) or spending it!

7) Commitment to the broadest possible interpretation of the II Amendment. Citizens have the RIGHT to defend thameselves, their homes, and their businesses against a government whose "law enforcement" is running amok, and this right is to be upheld in the Federal Courts.

8)The Constitutional right to a "trial by jury" includes the right to have the jury examine the justice and applicability of the law, as well as the facts of the case, the presiding Judge or Magistrate shall inform every duly empanelled petit jury of said right and responsibility, and no intimidation of jurors who exercise their right of conscience against unjust laws should take place.

9)The Federal government's budget shall be public and balanced at all times.

10)Government officials are to be held accountable for any wrongdoing committed in the line of duty, whether military or civilian, to the full extent of the law. If they were "only following orders", said responsibility--and appropriate prosecution--is to be extended "up the food chain" to supervisory or command levels", it doesn't justify official lawbreaking.

These preliminary, and all-too-limited, measures will not restore real freedom to the American people, but making them the prevailing law of the land would start us all in the right direction, and would make a Ron Paul quest for the Presidency quite unnecessary. All that you GOP'ers, who always shout, from Nixon and Reagan, to Palin and Santorum, how you support "freedom" and "limited government" anyway, would be doing is backing your slogans with real action. If you would join us, even to the extent of these ten little points, Ron Paul could retire home to his family, and you would never hear from him again!

How about it?

excellent comment

I was just thinking about this, too. RP would no doubt love to be sitting on his porch in a rocking chair, next to Carol, watching some of their great-grandkids play in the yard, eating some fresh baked cookies. So...why isn't he? Precisely because of the point of your post: the GOP is still stuck in the "lesser evil" mud bog instead of rolling down the road to LIBERTY, and no other candidate or major leader within the party gets it -- yet.

What is begun in anger, ends in shame.

Time to INVESTIGATE the investigators of 9/11. PROSECUTE the prosecutors. EXPOSE the cover-up.

Look i gotta ask,,,

You were a McCain supporter ? No disrespect it's just to me he is like the anti Christ.

sharkhearted's picture

Keep in mind...I was asleep 4 years ago

I voted for McCain but it was a grudge vote because I sure as hell was not going to vote for Obama.

I actually voted for McCain because he had chosen Sarah Palin and probably at that point I was probably voting with my c**k and not my brain but at any rate all I remember that was a sorry ass election and I hated every moment of it.

Water under the bridge. My eyes have been opened and now I am a Ron Paul warrior.

...on the brighter side, a year ago about 81% didn't want Paul to run, so he's doubled his support...

65% probably want Romney to drop out too.

So? The gop has NEVER been

So? The gop has NEVER been about the Constitution or smaller government. NEVER.

The ONLY reason we "had" rep on our voters card was so we could vote for Dr Paul. We're now back home in the LP. Fk the gop.

The world is my country, all mankind are my brethren, and to do good things is my religion. Thomas Paine, Godfather of the American Revolution

Well that cinches it.

It's time to DOUBLE DOWN on Ron Paul.

CNN's assignment from the beginning of the semester was to

run RP out of the race.

TownHall did a hit piece yesterday on Santorum's mathematical impossibility. Get this, it also said "And the numbers don't lie." [no they don't, TownHall, just the mathematicians lie.]
2-pg article should've been titled: Rick Santorum GOP Want You Out, Now! [so, to hell with what the voters and supporters want.]

"If you want something you've never had before, you have to do something you've never done before." Debra Medina

That proves Ron Paul is the only one who can win!

Winning the primary was always going to be the tough part. If you take 39% of the GOP base and combine it with the 60+% independent voters who support Paul, Dr Paul wins. Beating Obama with a center-right peace platform that protects (and restores) civil liberties and offers lower taxes is A CAKE WALK.

I love how the MSM portrays this hype

The liberal media knows that Ron Paul is the candidate that has the best chance of beating Obama in the general election, therefore they do everything they can do to minimize his support hoping for a Mittens or Santorum win. A Santorum win guarantees another 4 years of Obama and Mitt...well he's Obama-lite and in the big banks pocket so nothing will change if he wins.

Screw them.

Their word is no good, they are no good, nobody cares what they think and they don't have the power to stop us.

Here is a link to the actual

Here is a link to the actual survey.

What is more interesting is that it also shows Paul up to 17% among republicans (at least according to this poll), which is the highest he has been since sept. 2011. Santorum is now down from 34% to 26%...
