Daily Proverb

Updated November 1, 2012: Some of us have worked thru the book of Proverbs during the Month of October. I desire to continue in November on the topic of Thankfulness. I need to be content in all things and daily offerings on thankfulness will no doubt be a blessing to me and maybe others. The concept of thankfulness is liberating when negativity is cast aside. Please feel free to journey along and contribute as you are inspired.

I have been challenged to read 1 chapter in Proverbs each day. As I read Chapter 29, I found a verse that speaks profoundly of Ron Paul's character and a statement of why our country is in the situation it is in:

Verse 4: "The king by judgment establisheth the land: but he that receiveth gifts overthroweth it."

Of course we do not have a king, but the principle is the same. Those that cozy up with special interests ruin a country.

Thank you Ron Paul, for not entertaining lobbyists!

2 Corinthians 13:11
Finally, brethren, farewell. Be perfect, be of good comfort, be of one mind, live in peace; and the God of love and peace shall be with you.

Proverbs 31

"Rubies without imperfections are exceptionally rare and command prices even higher than diamonds of a similar weight and quality." http://www.israel-diamonds.com/Education/Gemstone/RubyFacts/...

10 Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies.
11 The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her, so that he shall have no need of spoil.
12 She will do him good and not evil all the days of her life.
13 She seeketh wool, and flax, and worketh willingly with her hands.
14 She is like the merchants' ships; she bringeth her food from afar.
15 She riseth also while it is yet night, and giveth meat to her household, and a portion to her maidens.
16 She considereth a field, and buyeth it: with the fruit of her hands she planteth a vineyard.
17 She girdeth her loins with strength, and strengtheneth her arms.
18 She perceiveth that her merchandise is good: her candle goeth not out by night.
19 She layeth her hands to the spindle, and her hands hold the distaff.
20 She stretcheth out her hand to the poor; yea, she reacheth forth her hands to the needy.
21 She is not afraid of the snow for her household: for all her household are clothed with scarlet.
22 She maketh herself coverings of tapestry; her clothing is silk and purple.
23 Her husband is known in the gates, when he sitteth among the elders of the land.
24 She maketh fine linen, and selleth it; and delivereth girdles unto the merchant.
25 Strength and honour are her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come.
26 She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness.
27 She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness.
28 Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her.
29 Many daughters have done virtuously, but thou excellest them all.
30 Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the LORD[YHUH], she shall be praised.
31 Give her of the fruit of her hands; and let her own works praise her in the gates.

.

Hear, O Israel: YHUH our God YHUH one. And thou shalt love YHUH thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.

Who can find a virtuous woman

Proverbs 19:14 House and riches are the inheritance of fathers: and a prudent wife is from the Lord.

And for the support of this Declaration, with a firm reliance on the protection of Divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other our lives, our fortunes and our sacred honor.

Not proverbs but for today

Not proverbs but for today for myself:

Ecclesiastes 12:12
And further, by these, my son, be admonished: of making many books there is no end; and much study is a weariness of the flesh.

And for the support of this Declaration, with a firm reliance on the protection of Divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other our lives, our fortunes and our sacred honor.

Proverbs 12:12-13, = avoid useless books that tire you.

+1, Maxk, very timely, surely it is a wise admonishment for all of us, i.e. always, because much time & energy is spent in useless books. The verse you quoted is connected to the next one = 13 =

13 Now all has been heard; here is the conclusion of the matter: Fear your Creator-Lord, and keep his commandments, for this is the duty of all mankind.

Confirms another verse = "Nothing new under the sun".

1:7

The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.

Proverbs 17:1-3

1 Better is a dry morsel, and quietness therewith, than an house full of sacrifices with strife.

2 A wise servant shall have rule over a son that causeth shame, and shall have part of the inheritance among the brethren.

3 The fining pot is for silver, and the furnace for gold: but the LORD trieth the hearts.

How about - be thankful for your greatest adversaries...

for they bring out things in you that you didn't know were there...

Or something like that. Wayne Dyer explained it better than I could and lately Ted Nugent had Alex Jones say a prayer of thanks for Mr. Morgan...

Pandacentricism will be our downfall.

Psalm 84: 11-12

"For the LORD God is a sun and shield,
the LORD will give grace and glory,

No good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly,
O LORD of hosts, blessed is the man that trusteth in thee"

" In Thee O Lord do I put my trust " ~ Psalm 31:1~

Proverbs 10

19 In the multitude of words there wanteth not sin:
but he that refraineth his lips is wise.
20 The tongue of the just is as choice silver:
the heart of the wicked is little worth.
21 The lips of the righteous feed many:
but fools die for want of wisdom.

.

Hear, O Israel: YHUH our God YHUH one. And thou shalt love YHUH thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.

10:1 The Proverbs of Solomon.

A wise son maketh a glad father:
but a foolish son is the heaviness of his mother.
2 Treasures of wickedness profit nothing:
but righteousness delivereth from death.
3 YHUH will not suffer the soul of the righteous to famish:
but he casteth away the substance of the wicked.
4 He becometh poor that dealeth with a slack hand:
but the hand of the diligent maketh rich.
5 He that gathereth in summer is a wise son:
but he that sleepeth in harvest is a son that causeth shame.

.

Hear, O Israel: YHUH our God YHUH one. And thou shalt love YHUH thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.

Proverbs 3:1-2

My son, forget not my law; but let thine heart keep my commandments:
For length of days, and long life, and peace, shall they add to thee.

.

Hear, O Israel: YHUH our God YHUH one. And thou shalt love YHUH thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.

"Bless the Lord O my soul and all that is within me, bless His holy name"
