Could the Pope endorse Ron Paul? Write him!

Just saw this story on the Pope slamming US embargo on Cuba:
http://www.reuters.com/article/2012/03/28/us-cuba-pope-idUSB...

Got me thinking: How awesome would an endorsement from him be?! Especially since it'd be a huge slap in the face to Santorum!!

I believe it's against the Catholic church's tradition to endorse a political candidate, but I'm going to write the Pope anyways to see if he could use his influence to defeat some true evil here in the US.

Hey, it's not like it hurts to try!

If anyone else wants to give it a shot here are some directions on how to mail him. His email was discontinued last fall.

Well, the POPE is NOT a "statist". He does support Ron Paul's

ideologies, if you listen to him. But, he can't endorse a candidate.

Our country is in a severe moral decline in many ways, and that has impacted most Americans "logical" skills. They just still don't "get it".

Everything is connected. Santorum appeals to some Catholics only because he is a Catholic. I guarantee you that most of them are clueless about his voting record, let alone his liberal beliefs.

The Pope is conservative, yet generous in many social issues. However, his idea of being "generous" is different than a liberals ideas. Ron Paul fits the mold, as far as honor and integrity goes.

I'm sure the Pope is aware of Dr. Paul, but he talks around him about freedom, so I know he personally supports much of Ron Paul's ideological beliefs.

The Pope is at the Top of the NWO totem pole. We do not want his endorsement.

God forbid!

Ron would lose more support than gain. RP is the antitheses of New World order Agenda. The Pope is the poster child for One-world, new world order and One religion. The Pope personifies establishment and man made authority. Ron would be insulted by such an endorsement.
Read Apollyon Rising 2012 if you want to know more about who the pope is and what he really stands for.

A patriot must always be prepared to defend his country from his government.

touche y'all (besides the guy ripping the pope a new one)

I didn't realize that was the reason religious never endorsed. Totally makes sense, just didn't think about it.. So yea, I guess it's pointless to write him..Thanks for the info!

Invite A Priest To Coffee & Danish

Get a few Priest together...talk to them from the point of view of..saving lives..how Paul wont interfear with their policy of birth control..ending the wars and saving all those souls..how Santorum wants to keep bombing them straight to hell which is not what Christ taught..how Paul would take Roe V Wade away from the Feds and leave it to the states to vote on it and how your sure with the support of the Catholic church...it can be over turned.

I think your suggestion is a FANTASTIC idea, actually.

Wish we did it last year!

The Pope won't endorse

In federal law it's not possible for the American church to take an official position related to supporting/opposing candidates for federal office...quite simply, it'd give rise to reason to revoke the tax status as a church.

Beyond that, it IS possible to get a clear statement from Catholic Bishops on an issue which is of particular concern to Catholic Bishops, and that is on the death penalty.

Ron Paul is the ONLY candidate who takes a position on this issue which long has been a major issue for Catholic Bishops in this country.

There are other issues, notably, the fact that Paul is pro peace and the others are warmongers, but most likely the best way to see if you can have any effect is to schedule a meet with the local Bishop.

Of course, they won't/can't endorse, but it could prove beneficial to get a clear message out that only Ron Paul's view on the federal death penalty is consistent with official teachings of the Church.

And jeopardize the church's 501c3 status?

Not a chance.

It's also why the Mormon prophet has not endorsed Romney, the LDS Prophet wont put the Corporation of the Presiding Bishopric's 501c3 tax status in jeopardy.

Stop and THINK...

... an endorsement by the pope would surely push some women away who are still mulling support for Ron Paul

the pope has no cred among most people in America
he is seen as having NO authority and a sham
as many people see any religion but the pope is a stale symbol of all that is wrong with the STATUS QUO

his endorsement would do more harm than good
and LEGALLY no religion is supposed to endorse
ANY candidate

wish the religions had to give up TAX FREE STATUS
just like all the little people they dictate to

ONE of the popes rings would support a poor village in Africa or Indonesia fro a YEAR

his custom made red silk moire slippers would buy a years worth of rice for a dozen families

no time to write more on THAT ridiculous situation
but you get the picture

STATUS QUO is a partnership between STATES and RELIGIONS
