Mike Moody and his book are full of CRAP

As a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormon Church) and having performed the exact same religious rites that Mitt Romney has, I can tell you that the claims this book makes are complete fabrication.
If you are anything like me, use your head and do a little verification before you begin slinging filth that you fabricate yourself or someone else has fabricated.
Let Ron's message of freedom be heard for what it is, not for what the other candidates supposedly believe.

Everyone ought to read The End of Faith by Sam Harris. Anyone who says that their religion--whether it's Mormonism, Christianity, Islam, Judaism, Jainism, Buddhism, or whatever--doesn't interfere with their reasoning faculties in other areas of their life is merely proclaiming that they don't actually believe what their religion proclaims. This is for the simple reason that the official tenets of all religions are in direct opposition to reality and are non-negotiable. The basic foundation of all religions is faith. Faith is a belief in something despite an absence of--or even an abundance of contradictory--evidence. This is completely incompatible with a reasonable interaction with the real world. It is the reason that "fundamentalist Muslims"--those that actually believe what the Koran tells them--are willing to commit suicide terrorism. It is the reason that "fundamentalist Christians"--those that actually believe what the Bible tells them--were willing to murder countless "heretics" during the inquisition and the crusades. It is one of the primary reasons this country is in the mess that it is. It is one of the major reasons that a fool like Mike Huckabee can win the Iowa Caucuses while a gentleman and scholar like Ron Paul only places fifth. We need to wake up and become reasonable people.

A Mormon's perspective

I am absolutely no fan of Mitt Romney, but I am a Mormon. I just want to clear a few things up here.
First, there is plenty to attack about Mitt Romney without going after his religion. Ron Paul has been very clear on this aspect.
Second, concerning the prophecy of the constitution hanging by a thread- there is some room for interpretation there. It says that the people of the (Mormon) church would help elect a president that would rectify that situation- it doesn't say that they will elect a Mormon. Mormon support for Ron paul is pretty good, jsut check out the link on the right hand side of the page to LDS4RONPAUL

One more thing. Some basic tenets of the Mormon Faith are laid out in thirteen articles of faith. Number 11 says "We claim the privledge of worshiping Almighty God according to the dictates of our own conscience, and allow all men the same privilege; let them worship how, when or what they may.
Number 12 states "We believe in being subject to Kings, Rulers, Presidents, and Magistrates, in obeying, honoring and sustaining the law.

If a Mormon were to become President, he would be bound by the law as well as the teachings of the church to uphold the constitution. At least that's the way I see it.

I don't really care if this hurts Mitt Romney directly, but it bothers me that it's not really about Romney, it's about religion and a religious test. In the future there may be a very good Mormon Candidate for president, and I would hope that misinformation would not sink his (or her) chances.

That being said, I have been thoroughly disgusted with Romney in this race. He has stooped so low to try and attack his opponents, and he has been ridiculously rude to Ron Paul. I feel that he has done a great disservice to his church by the way that he has conducted himself in this campaign.

Moody wanted a pay day

This isn't even worth our thoughts. yes, i'm mormon, and I despise Romney. He clearly doesn't get christianity nor does he get the constitution. he is a terrible image for our church because what I have always been taught (thoguh lately it has mostly been lipservice from fellow church goers) is that the constitution is given divinely of God. that it is unchanging and it contains the principles by which Christ will rule after the second coming. so do we obey church leaders? yeah, because they give us GUIDANCE that comes to us as revelation. so what is the problem with being told that we shouldn't be so proud? our church won't even get involved in any political stances, let alone force a president to some secret plan (cue dramatic music). but there is nothing forceful in my religion. force, as the good doctor understands, is not the path.

this is ridiculous nonsense, and while it's good to knock down a moron, this is completely contrary to our cause of liberty. my challenge is to read the scriptures and doctrine i subscribe to and find anywhere that it conflicts with Christ's message of liberty. In other words, Moody's premise is lost.

I have had many friends that were and found them to be hard working, honest, family oriented people. There are some that I don't like and can't stand, but I find that with all beliefs and base my judgments on the individual and despise the "group think" of collectivizing people that is most disdainful. The rhetoric that can be used against someone because they are LDS can be used against anyone based on any faith and that is fear mongering at its worst. Above all, I have found that LDS members have a reverence for the Constitution and Declaration of Independence which I heartily applaud. To see someone attacked based on their faith is distastetful at the least and this person and his book need to be relegated to the trash bin. Remember "not by might or force of arms, but by my spirit saith the Lord".

to be some of the nicest, un-assuming, morally upstanding people I have ever met. I haven't met an LDS member yet that I haven't liked. I have no love for their doctrine, but as people in general go, they are near the top on my list of people whom I respect. I feel this type of attack that the author of the book has made is totally un-called for and we should distance ourselves from it.

I've never understood the antagonism being thrown out toward Romney over THIS issue. It's my naive understanding that we are supposed to be a tolerant society toward religion (duh, something there in the constitution too, LOL). It never entered my mind that the reason I would oppose Romney is his relgion. And yet, these attacks keep coming, from the Baptist minister's camp.

I think the real scandal may be the network supporting the Hackster and their barely legal activities (re: Common Sense Issues polling and organizing).
