Where's the beef?

It's on Romney's hands, and it's pink (slime).

This is government intervention at its core. The market says, "We don't want this crap", but politicians swoop in to try and save what the public doesn't want.

Governors from three meat-producing states today defended Beef Products Inc., the company that makes lean finely textured beef, which now-former USDA scientists nicknamed "pink slime," after a walk through the company's plant accompanied by ABC News.

"Let's call this product what it is and let 'pink slime' become a term of the past," Texas Gov. Rick Perry said after the tour, after which officials showed off t-shirts with the slogan, "Dude, it's beef!"

Stung by consumer reaction to the process used by BPI, grocery stores pulled beef containing the filler off the shelves and BPI closed three of its four plants for lack of demand. The governors said that the treatment the product received in the media was unfair because it is not only safe, but also nutritious and allows grocers to sell leaner ground beef at a lower cost.

Why is it

that countries around the world, poor and socialist alike, can reject GE foods but we can't.

Fast food is now another industry too big to fail.

I remember when FDA agents actually visited farms.

I seldom buy meat from the store any more. I have a pig slaughtered and buy free range eggs. Do I pay more? Not really. I have to pay $2 for eggs but the stores are catching up, they now sell for $1.25. The extra 75 cents is worth it.

Even canning doesn't take that long or much effort.

The only saving grace is when these politicians feed their own children this crap and one dies or is deformed. Not that I wish this stuff on any child but politicians need to know the consequences of their actions.

Also, I think medical treatment should be withheld from those supporting this travesty. If they chose to eat garbage, why should we be paying for them?

How can processed and unprocessed (limited) cost more? Doesn't it take more "processing" money to process more?

Hussein had nothing over our own government. One way or another the government intends to put poison in all our food.

I'm wondering when the farmers are going to wake up. They are making big money now but what happens when the price of killer seed goes too high? What happens when their own families body counts go up? It's only a matter of time.

My 5 yr old dog is showing signs of aging. It isn't because he eats anything from the fields but it is all in the dog food. He's smart enough not to eat the poison in the fields but doesn't have much choice about his food.

I don't know the answers but we need Ron Paul to break the ties that bind us.

Sad and scary thing is...

We've been eating this for several years. It just started making the news a few months ago.

Not me.

Makes me glad I haven't eaten meat in about 16 years.

People won't buy it,

and won't eat it.
So, the gov't swoops in and buys it up with money it steals from us(taxes), and then pushes it down the throats of our children in the gov't indoctrination centers(schools).

That about sums it up.

"No turkey and cheese sandwiches from home! No sir! We will take that away from your child and force him to ingest this filthy pink slime instead, because we want to continue getting our bribes from the food industry for buying their waste products with your money that we steal from you".

See the contradiction?

"It's beef, but it's leaner beef which is better for you," Iowa Gov. Terry Branstad said. "We take this off the market then we end up with a fatter product that's going to cost more and is going to increase the obesity problem in this country."

ABC News joined Branstad, Perry and Kansas Gov. Sam Brownback on a tour of the facilities where beef scraps, mostly fat and connective tissue, are processed. The scraps are put through centrifuges to separate the fat and then through pipes, where they are spritzed with ammonia gas before emerging as a pink mix that is then frozen and sent all over the country.

So what is it? leaner beef or mostly fat?

Thanx,

Jason

You can't get clean in a dirty bathtub.

Fat is not bad for your health

and these morons continue to push bad health advice... eating more fat DOES NOT make you fat.... the exact reason government should not get involved in healthcare. They don't know anything. They push bad health procedures.... and yet they are trying to force us to buy this poor health system

Government know plenty...and they should fry for it!!

Ya know....like fat in oil.

Excessive carbohydrates make you fat.

Thanx,

Jason

Iowa Gov. Terry Branstad

this guy needs to be ousted next election cycle, what a tool. It's so funny they can't answer the simple question of what's in the additive.

So?

It's a lean beef frank without the casing?

Is it leaner beef or mostly fat?

Answer:
It's whatever lie they think that they can get away with at the time.
It's all about the bribes they are getting for lying to the people.
