I could only donate $6.00 to Ron Paul...Submitted by Noalium on Fri, 03/30/2012 - 18:18
I'm well below the poverty line. My family and I, we struggle everyday with bills, deadlines, and debt. Not for lack of trying or due to laziness, but due to lack of value within our dollar. Our paychecks simply do not go as far as they used to. Prices of everything from food, gasoline, clothes, and basic modern necessities choke us. Our prices and the minimum wage continue to go up...My dollar should buy me more than just a candy bar, or a cheap soda.
I'm tired of suffocating.
We work our asses off for our money, with sweat upon our brow and calluses upon our hands. If eighty hour weeks scare some...it has been the norm for many in my tribe. Those eighty hours...?
Sometimes gone in less than twenty-four. Two weeks to go!
My dollar should mean something. My dollar should be something I respect. My George Washingtons have always looked paltry and flimsy compared to Benjy or Grant. Washington simply holds no weight!
So if I, a man who has grown up in a welfare system, who has always despised the welfare system, who has little to no money to spare due to my children, wife, and bills...If I can donate six dollars...despite that little voice in my head saying "That could buy an entire meal if used correctly...", please consider donating as much (no matter how small it may seem) as you can.
Lurkers, speculators, poor and broke, sick and tired...whatever you call yourselves...the "backseaters" of the campaign...spread the word. One dollar. Two, six, or ten.
I'm just a guy, from nowhere, who doesn't make much.
I could donate to Ron Paul. Even if it was just six dollars.
Every cent adds up...if even my six dollars only buys Ron Paul a cup of coffee and a donut, I'd say it was money well spent!
