My precinct convention

Only two people attended at my precinct my wife and I. We also elected two delegates out of 8 and adopted 3 resolutions. We will be advancing to the senatorial district convention on April 21st. Thanks Everyone for the comments and votes.

If we wait too long we will surely perish!

The 3 resolutions we adopted are as follows

Resolution #1
Audit the Federal Reserve

Whereas the Tarrant Republican Party applauds transparency and accountability in government and
rejects government secrecy involving monetary policy that impacts the entire economy; and
Whereas the United States Constitution, gives the United States Congress the authority to coin Money
and regulate the value thereof and does not give Congress the authority to delegate control over monetary
policy to a central bank; and
Whereas auditing the Federal Reserve will allow Congress to assert its constitutional authority over
monetary policy and help to protect the value of the United States dollar; therefore
Be it resolved that the Tarrant Republican Party, in defense of the United States Constitution, strongly
urges the members of the 112th United States Congress to support the Federal Reserve Transparency Act
of 2011 as set forth in H.R. 459 and S. 202, which subjects Federal Reserve operations to audits by the
United States Government Accountability Office (GAO)

Resolution #2
Enumerated Powers Act

Whereas by the 10th amendment, in the Bill of Rights, “The powers not delegated to the United Status
by the Constitution nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the states respectively, or to the
people”; and
Whereas by the 9th amendment, in the Bill of Rights, “The enumeration in the Constitution, of certain
rights, shall not be construed to deny or disparage others retained by the people.”; and
Whereas Congress has recently passed legislation that seems to be without constitutional authority;
Be it resolved that the Tarrant County Republicans support the Enumerated Powers Act (HR 450),
which requires each Act of Congress to contain a concise and definite statement of the constitutional
authority relied upon for the enactment of each portion of that Act

Resolution #3
Balanced Budget Amendment

Whereas Fiscal Responsibility is vital to the survival of our Constitutional Republic; and
Whereas most Federal agencies saw their budget greatly expand via massive deficit spending (stimulus
programs) which lays a heavy burden on all future taxpayers; therefore
Be it resolved that the Tarrant County Republicans Support an Amendment to the Constitution which
requires that the budget be balanced annually such that a deficit budget cannot be approved; Secondly, we
believe that the deficit should be addressed by spending reductions rather than by tax increases, and a
three-fifths supermajority vote of both Houses of Congress be required for any tax increases

what to do with the Fed

I've been thinking about this a lot, it seems to be that if we are going to have a central bank, that it should actually be a part of the government so that it can be held accountable to the people. with that in mind I see only two realistic options for the Fed:

1) shut it down completely. strip them of their quasi-government status and form a new agency of officials who will be picked and voted in and heavily monitored by Congress. any US citizen should be able to apply for a job within this new agency.

2) nationalize the Fed. make this 'central bank' an actual part of our government. Congress can seize control of it and restructure it from within. perhaps it can be merged and consolidated with the Treasury (for example). all sitting board members booted out and replaced with people who can and will be held accountable to we the people.

I don't know any other actually liberty supporters in my precinct, but if you are going to be there let me know.

I was elected a delegate

I was elected along with 4 others present and 1 not present to go to senate district convention #9 in Tarrant County. Myself and another person I'd never met were Ron Paul supporters as it turned out. The other three attendees were not openly hostile to him, but were either undecided or supported Santorum.

The other Paul supporter, Bob, wrote 2 resolutions down by hand after I motioned for a 5 minute recess with everyone's approval to recess for that purpose.

The first resolution was to end all foreign aid immediately. This resolution barely failed to pass with the permanent chairmen casting the deciding vote. All reasons given were expressing concern for Israel.

The second resolution was to withdraw from the UN. There was some discussion about cutting funding instead of withdrawing. The chairment didn't really know the roberts rules well or didn't try to follow them, so there was no question about amending the measure, but I didn't want to make a big deal about it since it didn't really matter. The lady discussing a change ended up voting for it as-is. 4 of 5 of us voted to pass the resolution to withdraw from the UN.

We elected Bob's wife as a delegate after electing all 5 of us present. We have a slate of 19 delegates and 19 alternates. In total we passed on 3 likely Ron Paul delegates (assuming Bob's wife was as he is) and 3 that were not.
