Music for the Ron Paul Revolution. Post your favorites here!

Its been done before but I want to freshen up the thread since we are in a new campaign cycle and have a lot of new faces.

Why not celebrate with music? Music can stir emotion, fire up a crowd and deliver a message.

Rock , Metal , Folk, Country, Classical, Blues, Trance , Hip Hop, oldies.....all are good...

Now lets hear what the Daily Paul is listening to these days!

Here is one of my favorites....cause "We got a Situation, There's a Revolution! and we got the Congregation"

Keep On Growing

Derek and the Dominoes (Eric Clapton) song "Keep On Growing" as performed by Sheryl Crow
http://youtu.be/Xz30lbIBgqc

I know it's a Clapton cover but IMO Sheryl Crow pwn'd it. I guess being Clapton's girlfriend for 3 years has it's perks. lol

PS
This song would go great with the footage and photos of the growing attendance at Ron's rallies over the past 2 months. ;)

GET UP, STAND UP (Bob Marley)

Get up, stand up, stand up for your rights
Get up, stand up, stand up for your rights
Get up, stand up, stand up for your rights
Get up, stand up, don't give up the fight

Preacher man don't tell me
Heaven is under the earth
I know you don't know
What life is really worth
It's not all that glitters is gold
Half the story has never been told
So now you see the light
Stand up for your rights

Get up, stand up, stand up for your rights
Get up, stand up, stand up for your rights
Get up, stand up, stand up for your rights
Get up, stand up, don't give up the fight

Most people think
Great good will come from the skies
Take away everything
And make everybody feel high
But if you know what life is worth
You would look for yours on earth
And now you've seen the light
You stand up for your rights

Get up, stand up (yeah, yeah)
Stand up for your rights (oh)
Get up, stand up (get up stand up)
Don't give up the fight (life is your right)
Get up stand up (so we can't give up the fight)
Stand up for your right (lord lord)
Get up, stand up (people struggling on)
Don't give up the fight (yeah)

We're sick and tired of your ism-schism game
To die and go to heaven in Jesus' name
We know and understand
Almighty God is a living man
You can fool some people sometimes
But you can't fool all the people all the time
And now we've seen the light (What you gonna do)
We gonna stand up for our rights

Get up, stand up
Stand up for you rights
Get up, stand up
Stand up for your rights
Get up, stand up
Stand up for your rights
Get up, stand up
Don't give up the fight

"The Love That's Inside" by Hobex (Chapel Hill, NC band) *****

Great soulful summer tune from this relaxed Carolina band. Remember Hootie's hit "I Only Wanna Be With You." A line saying, "a little dillion sitting on a fence..." They were referring to the members of this band who toured with them and REM in the early 90's called "Dillion Fence." Great upbeat sound, very popular regionally in the Eastern U.S. Hobex- albeit a strange name- has played with George Clinton and Funkadelic. Also- headlines regularly on New Years Eve at downtown events in Raleigh, Charlotte, NC. Check this band out,

this song may be a great match for the Ron Paul R[evolution!

Great beat- soulful voice...feel good-type music.

Lyrics by Greg Humphries starts out-

The Love that's inside...(beat)...You've been waiting...ah you been waiting so long, for someone to save you..save you from being alone. Well I can imagine, imagine your surprise...when you stubble on the love that's inside.

Chorus: Now its time...to make up your mind! Can you deny? The Love that's inside!

Can you feel it? Can you show it? Don't you leave it, get to know it.... (more)

----------DPers check this song out!----Like an idea whose time has come....this is a song whose time has come. -------

Golden State End these Wars

Golsen State End these Wars really got me good. lost a friend in afghanistan so it made me think about them a bit seeing the footage. song builds up til the end and makes me feel there is hope again

Chicago - Graham Nash (We Can Change the World)

Chicago by Graham Nash. The chorus is great for us, more so than the song itself I have to admit, since it's about the Chicago rioting at the 1968 DNC.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IHK__w2ukvY

We can change the world
Rearrange the world
It's dying
(If you believe in justice)
It's dying
(and if you believe in freedom)
It's dying
(let a man live his own life)
It's dying
(rules and regulations who needs them?)

The World's Greatest by R. Kelly

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LyaNlZaVOpc

Yeah,Uhh...
Uhh...
Yeah..
It's the worlds greatest, Yo,
It's the worlds greatest, Come on,
Worlds Greatest, Ever

I am a mountain
I am a tall tree
Oh, I am a swift wind
Sweepin' the country
I am a river
Down in the valley
Oh, I am a vision
And I can see clearly
If anybody asks u who I am
Just stand up tall look 'em in the Face and say

[Chorus]
I'm that star up in the sky
I'm that mountain peak up high
Hey, I made it
I'm the worlds greatest
And I'm that little bit of hope
When my backs against the ropes
I can feel it mmm
I'm the worlds greatest

I am a giant
I am an eagle
I am a lion
Down in the jungle
I am a marchin' band
I am the people
I am a helpin' hand
And I am a hero
If anybody asks u who I am
Just stand up tall look 'em in the Face and say

[Chorus]
I'm that star up in the sky
I'm that mountain peak up high
I made it
I'm the worlds greatest
And I'm that little bit of hope
When my backs against the ropes
I can feel it
I'm the worlds greatest

In the ring of life I'll reign love
(I will reign)
And the world will notice a king
(Oh Yeah)
When all is darkest, I'll shine a light
(Shine a light)
And use a success you'll find in me
(Me)

I'm that star up in the sky
I'm that mountain peak up high
Hey, I made it
I'm the world's greatest
And I'm that little bit of hope
When my back's against the ropes
I can feel it
I'm the world's greatest

I'm that star up in the sky
I'm that mountain peak up high
Hey, I made it
I'm the world's greatest
And I'm that little bit of hope
When my back's against the ropes
I can feel it
I'm the world's greatest

I'm that star up in the sky
I'm that mountain peak up high
Hey, I made it
I'm the world's greatest
And I'm that little bit of hope
When my back's against the ropes
I can feel it
I'm the world's greatest

[*]
It's the greatest
Can you feel it
It's the greatest
Can you feel it

[Repeat * while:]
I saw the light
At the end of a tunnel
Believe in the pot of gold
At the end of the rainbow
And faith was right there
To pull me through, yeah
Used to be locked doors
Now I can just walk on through
Hey, uh, hey, hey, hey
It's the greatest
I'm that star up in the sky

I'm that star up in the sky
I'm that mountain peak up high
Hey, I made it
I'm the world's greatest
And I'm that little bit of hope
When my back's against the ropes
I can feel it
I'm the world's greatest

The 'Hey' song by Gary Glitter

Or "Rock and Roll Part 2." I thought it was modeled off the 'Doctorin' the TARDIS' song by The Time Lords more recently known as KLF, but after I checked into it, it's the other way around. Those familiar with both can change the lyrics at Ron Paul rallies from "Dr. Who" and chant "Dr Paul" and throw in an "End the Fed/ Freedom/ Liberty" at certain parts.

Paper Money Don't Hold

Ronnie Montrose (Rest in Peace) and Sammy Hagar knew the score in 1974. Check out Paper Money at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LJz1ZaOtbiI
Here is a taste of the lyrics:
A million dollar reserve note
is right here in my hand
And I can't stand the thing
Well it's all that I got
Take away all of my silver
Take away all of my gold
And hand me a stack of paper
Paper Money, Paper Money
Don't Hold - NO

Peace in our Time by Eddie Money

Peace in our Time by Eddie Money. I was a teenager when this song came out in the 80's and never has the words meant so much. I'm not a huge Eddie Money fan but, this is a good song.

Doctor, My Eyes

Doctor, my eyes have seen the years
And the slow parade of fears without crying
Now I want to understand
I have done all that I could
To see the evil and the good without hiding
You must help me if you can?

Doctor, my eyes, tell me what is wrong
Was I unwise to leave them open for so long

'Cause I have wandered through this world
And as each moment has unfurled
( From: http://www.elyrics.net/read/j/jackson-browne-lyrics/doctor-m... )
I've been waiting to awaken from these dreams
People go just where they will
I never noticed them until I got this feeling
That it's later than it seems

Doctor, my eyes, tell me what you see
I hear their cries, just say if it's too late for me

Doctor, my eyes, cannot see the sky
Is this the price for having learned how not to cry
