Pack Union Square for Ron Paul-San Francisco Event

Ron Paul fundraiser-downtown San Francisco-Thursday, April 5.

Can't afford a ticket for lunch? No problem, it's at Union Square.

That public square holds THOUSANDS! That's FREE.

Here's the opening of a famous movie filmed at Union Square.

Pack Union Square for Ron Paul!

Chant "We Want Ron Paul!"

I'm betting he'll walk outside and say hi to his supporters!

Powell St. is the nearest Bart station---walking distance.

Approx. time: 11:00am to 2:00 pm

Always be polite.

There's nothing impolite about cheering for your guy.

Ron Paul has that energy supporting him.

That's a good thing, not a bad thing.

I haven't suggested being an unruly mob.

I've suggested showing up, in large numbers, like everywhere else Ron Paul people have showed up. We can do it again.

In Union Square, in San Francisco as a whole, street theater, street advocacy is homegrown, it's a staple. It's what people notice. Berkeley too.

The other campaigns won't be a blip on the street radar in those 2 cities. We can and should be.

John - are you planning something?

here is the map from Powell St. station to the Marriot

just hoping to get people there

It's a walk, if that's what you mean.

I was just trying to let people who aren't aware of San Francisco to know the quickest, cheapest way in and to get them as close as possible. If they don't want to make that walk from Powell they can transfer to Muni (cable car), it's on the website and on your map.

It's a straight shot folks, just go straight up Powell to Sutter, turn right, and you are there.

here is a link to the BART train

from Powell St. (SF) to Downtown Berkeley station for the night event at UC Berkeley

Wish I could be there!

deep sigh!

My heart and spirit are with y'all!!!

Is there someway for folks

Is there someway for folks with smart phones to use them to collect donations for Paul? Or for the campaign to sell his books, or t-shirs? Also, do you have to be registered Republican to vote in the primary in Cali? The Democrats don't hesitate to sign folks up at their rally's; we should do the same.

Yes, you have to register

Yes, you have to register Republican by May 21st to vote for Ron Paul on the June 5th California primary. Voter Registration cards can be obtained at libraries and post offices.

I intend to be at the Thursday San Francisco and Berkeley events with a pile of voter registration cards and a table at which to fill them out. Other people should do the same - at least bring voter registration cards and a clipboard.

In fact, every Ron Paul supporter in California should keep voter reg cards handy at all times, for whenever you find a RP supporter who is not registered yet. They can fill it out and you can send it in ... no postage required.

tables always are a question

It's great that you plan to register voters!

If you look at the video there is a concrete abutment...that where the people are sitting. That works for clipboards and you won't need a table.

Also, the people already sitting will be easier to get to register than the people walking by. You move along the paths where the people are seated. When one is signing more of the people walking by are interested. Get one filling out a reg card first, then you inspire others to be interested.

Cops can and do object to tables, if it's an obstruction will be the issue.

Clipboards alone are no problem.

With tables it gives cops something realistic to worry about, does it obstruct pedestrian traffic? So, make sure it's small and very portable...ironing boards are best, they are higher (easier for someone standing to use the surface) and you can fit more clipboards per ironing board than on the standard poker or card table. Ironing boards are easier to lug around. Ironing boards take up less space, they are less an obstruction to pedestrian traffic---that means lower chance a cop will object.

Look at the Secty of State and local registrar website for the absentee forms, those are a key right now. That way, you can get something useful done with all those already registered.

Thanks, John. I was on the

Thanks, John.

I was on the fence about using a table or just clipboards ... now I know what to do.

And the ironing board is a great idea.

here's a better photo of Union Square

Another comment added this http://worldwidepanorama.org/worldwidepanorama/wwp305/html/J...

I haven't been there in quite awhile... the new design has benches and some lower places to sit.

it's the best

I'm an old-timer, we always have taught that to people doing petitions, registering voters.

When you see someone out there with an ironing board, either they really know what they are doing or they have recently been trained by someone like that :)

I'm not sure how many ironing boards people like me have bought for our campaign crews, but it's probably enough to keep some of the companies in business.

Yes there is a way to accept credit cards with a smart ph

Yes you have to be registered as a republican to vote in the primary for Ron Paul and the deadline is 5/21/12.

November 6th 2012 I voted for Dr.Ron Paul

I'm in D.C. while the Doc is in my city?

So close yet so far. Would have loved to make it to this. Looks like me and the Doc are switching places for the day.

Looking forward to your videos for all of us

who are far away.

Spread out!

Let's spread out over a few blocks. Someone on each corner politely representing Dr. Paul. People will be curious enough to ask questions to individuals if we pack 5+ blocks of signs and supporters!

Not like just one large and intimidating Occupy group shouting all the time. My office hates and always ignores those...

Ron Paul deserves his own (non-federal) holiday! http://ronpaulholiday.com/

I think Ron Paul said something like this:

Two things are needed for a revolution:
1. Youth
2. Music

It would be awesome to have musicians or the Ron Paul songs playing.

Would be hard for people to

Would be hard for people to ignore this! Hope it goes very well. Love u guys..

GUYS, don't forget, after

GUYS, don't forget, after this PRIVATE event in Union Square, the BIGGER event is THAT EVENING across the bridge at UC Berkeley where Dr Paul's having his big PUBLIC TOWN HALL in the auditorium.

So, if you plan on doing this, make sure you got transportation to run over to Berkeley after!

reedr3v's picture

Have you checked how tight his schedule is,

since he's speaking at Zellerbach in Berkeley later? He'll need some time for supper and rest, I'd think.

Always time to say hi!

There's always time to say hi to a large crowd of supporters.

There are hours between the events and Berkeley is a short hop away.

It's a great visual too...good for free media.

Plus, that area is packed all the time with California voters.

Presidential candidates don't hide.

Fuck YEAH baby, I'm so

Fuck YEAH baby, I'm so there!! Finally coming to Cali
