Do Republicans really want to defeat Obama?

Tampa, Fl., April 2, 2012 —The Republican Party has energized its base around the idea that Barack Obama must be defeated to save America from “socialism.” They won a majority in the House in 2010 by focusing on Obamacare. They claim that this election is a turning point. Obama must be defeated or America will be “fundamentally changed.”

There is only one problem. All of the candidates they are running will lose to Obama, with the exception of Ron Paul.

In order to win the general election, the Republicans need independents and Democrats. They also need a media narrative that shows a clear contrast between their candidate and Obama. They get all of this with Paul and none of it with Romney, Santorum, or Gingrich.

During the 2010 elections, Republicans pulled off a rhetorical coup. They successfully labeled Obamacare as “socialism” while at the same time mobilizing millions of senior citizens against the program because it would hurt Medicare. Hats off to their spin doctors. It won’t be that easy this year. If they want to attack Obama on Obamacare, they can’t run a candidate who signed the same program into law in Massachusetts (Romney), who supported its individual mandate for twenty years (Gingrich), or who voted for the Medicare prescription drug benefit (Santorum).

Santorum hasn’t endorsed the individual mandate, but Obama can argue that he’s all for government healthcare and “spreading the wealth around” because of Medicare Part D. The Republican base might swallow Santorum’s rebuttals, but for the rest Obamacare gets neutralized.

No!

Both the left wing and the right wing of the same bird. As long as the "establishment" gets a puppet who will do exactly as they are told, I really think they could care less which wing it comes from. The people who are Republican, are for the most part, decent Americans who have been deceived by their own party for many years. Same goes for the Dems. But yes on Republican people wanting Obama out. They do really bad but do not realize they will get more of the same if Paul doesn't get in the Oval Office!

Of course not

and that's why the media picked McCain 4 years ago.

Once you realize that there

Once you realize that there are no real differences between the two parties anymore, things become much clearer. If the Democratic party and the Republican party both want more wars, more government, and less freedom, is there really a difference between the parties? No. They are both part of the same establishment, and will work together to achieve their common goals that will ultimately lead to more profit and power for them, and less money and freedom for us. Remember that some of the most frightening recent legislation, such as the NDAA, has had heavy support from both "sides".

In a debate situation the only difference between Obama and say, Romney, is that Romney will be able to actually come out and say that we're going to start wars around the world and be applauded for it. Obama will need to tread more carefully and use noncommittal and vague speech in order to appeal to liberals- but at the end of the day we all know that he intends to do the same things in office that Romney or Santorum would do because he's already doing them. As long as both parties are aiming for the same goals it is logical to assume that nobody in Washington cares whether the president has a D or an R in front of his name. Either way it is the American people that lose, not just a party that has no real significance to it anymore.

Of Course Not

The Republicans do not want to beat Obama.

However, Republicans do want to blame Ron Paul!

It's simple

Both sides make their hay with the 'blame game', so what could be more ideal than a 'socialist' seamlessly owning and filling the role of growing government, destroying the Bill of Rights, big debt, perpetual wars, etc? They can blame Obama for the very policies they have sponsored and voted for, so it's a win-win for them. The establishment GOP clearly has no intention of putting the brakes on any of this stuff, so it keeps the heat off of THEM to have a 'whipping-boy' in the White House.

As far as 'socialism' goes, I've been checking my mailbox every day for three years anticipating one of those 'wealth-redistribution' checks we've heard so much about. Doesn't seem to be forthcoming.

Yes. Only Paul can beat Obama

Yes. Only Paul can beat Obama in 2012. IF he is given a FAIR SHAKE and a FAIR SHOT that Obama says in his electioneering video is the American Way. The likelihood is that the general election will be conducted in much the same way as the primaries if Ron Paul is the nominee.

It will require a tremendous effort by the grassroots to get the message out to the People and many will have to wake up. There is a good chance also that many Republicans will either vote Obama or sit it out since they are inveterate warmongers who sincerely, and wrongly, see Dr. Paul as "dangerous". These are not insurmountable obstacles but the People will have to roll their sleeves up to defeat the machine.

It does appear on the evidence as though the controllers have selected Obama for a second term. Romney is such an obvious loser against him. Romney represents the 1% in spades and Obama will be positioned as the candidate of the 99%. Obama is now priming himself as the peace candidate by backing off Iran and shaping up to exit Afghanistan so he will convince his followers that this time he means it.

These moves are all actuated by the looming election and will change afterwards but the people will probably swallow the lies effortlessly. Romney has already painted himself into a corner as the war candidate and no amount of etch a sketching can change that especially if the media play a part in framing him properly.

The wild card is the economy. The Fed is doing its part in pumping up the money supply and the stock market is responding. They are massaging the employment numbers and trying to create a sense that the economy is recovering. This can all change however since they are no longer in control of the dollar. If the dollar goes then so does the economy. This will play into Ron Paul's strength both to gain the nomination and the Presidency since he is the only candidate who has predicted this to happen and who knows what to do about it. Everyone has recognised his expertise on the monetary question.

Some Ron Paul supporters believe that he should let the status quo win this one since then the establishment will be left holding the bag. In my view that is a very dangerous proposition. Any crisis can be used to usher in martial law and the stage has already been set for that. If there is a crisis it is best to use it to Dr. Paul's advantage and to navigate through it using methods that will work rather than all the nostrums that have brought about the crisis and have failed.

"Jesus answered them: 'Truly, truly, I say to you, everyone who commits sin is a slave to sin. The slave does not remain in the house forever; the son remains forever. So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.'" (John 8:34-36)

Finally

An accurate analysis of the Republican Party. Thanks! :D

Obviously they don't because

Obviously they don't because there's no way Romney's going to beat Obama when Romney is just Obama in sheep's clothing and people are wise to his bullshit.

I'd sooner vote for the guy who is evil and admits it than the guy who is evil and pretends to be otherwise.

Tom Mullen thank you for this article!

You are a true Patriot. There are few people who I respect anymore. You have certainly earned mine.

"What if the American people learn the truth" - Ron Paul

It's set up in advance for an Obama win with backup if not

The elites have their man ( Obama ) set up to win it. You can bet they have covered both sides, and have Romney, Santorum or Gingrich as backup. Ron Paul is the real threat to the entire system. All these people belong in prison or hung for acts against humanity for what they have done.

God bless Ron Paul, but the massage must continue with or without a victory by him.

FYI, I'm just posting this

FYI, I'm just posting this here to get eyeballs of whomever it may apply to.

I'm from southwestern Michigan and am looking to move some Ron Paul slim jims (issue cards) to northwest Indiana, especially the South Bend area. I'm willing to deliver about seventy-five dollars worth of them for just twenty-five bucks, all of which will be going to fund more campaigning. The campaign saves the shipping and production costs which do nothing to help the campaign, you save a lot of money period, and I can move left over inventory that would otherwise go to waste and help fund my Uncle and I for delegate campaigning in Michigan. Win-win-win= win for all.

Let me know if you're interested, thanks!

I honestly think that the

I honestly think that the media and others are propping up Romney because they know he'll lose to Obama. I wouldn't be surprised to find out that many of Romney's donors switch over to Obama if he wins the primary.

I don't think *they* do--

whoever *they* are--the thugs who have been bullying the presidential race--

it's hard to be awake; it's easier to dream--

Used your plundering example

Hi Tom,

I used your plundering example from your book to make this point...

Your book made it so clear...hope you don't mind if I extracted this example from your book

2 Chron 7:13-14 if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.

The Two Party System wins by denying Paul

Both the R's and D's lose if Ron Paul wins.

Machiavelli wrote that Kings must control the options in order to stay in Control. There is very little difference between Serfdom, Socialism, Marxism, etc. They are all forms of Central Planning.

Central Planning = Central Authority = Central Ownership = Serfdom.

We in the US live under Serfdom. The two parties use Central Planning of Morality and Charity to Control the Options. No matter who 'wins' both Parties assume the Authority to Centrally Plan our Lives, Income, and Property. A Ron Paul win is a Loss for Central Planning.

Well put Our "democracy"

Well put

Our "democracy" relies on enormous amounts of propaganda in the media and in our public "education" to keep people distracted, ignorant, and reliant on authority.

All these people care about is power and control. Ordinary citizens are only finally waking up to their shenanigans. Every problem government "solves" it conveniently creates three more problems it must also "solve".

Ron Paul is the only man in Washington who sees the system for what it really is.

I'm going to copy this and send it to the editor of the Houston

Chronicle, with attribution, of course. They may not print it, but I'm going to send it, since this probably didn't make it to the print version of the "Times".

Good luck with that. I've

Good luck with that. I've been hammering the local tv news almost everyday, with little or no luck at all. I'm sure you've noticed. What I usually get is a CBS segment with operative jerk-off Dave Cassidy every morning, with his 'msm get behind Romney so Obama can trounce him BS'.
If I send local tv polls showing Ron Paul beating Obama, what I get in return is some bs poll showing him in 4th. if I send rally photo comparisons, they show all but Ron Paul.
I have shown them that the AP and Reuters, and network feeds are biased if not outright fraudulent, also to no avail.
So, while I will still send them real news everyday, I refuse to turn on the news for any reason other than weather reports.
