Do Republicans really want to defeat Obama?

By Thomas Mullen

TAMPA, Fl., April 2, 2012 —The Republican Party has energized its base around the idea that Barack Obama must be defeated to save America from “socialism.” They won a majority in the House in 2010 by focusing on Obamacare. They claim that this election is a turning point. Obama must be defeated or America will be “fundamentally changed.”

There is only one problem. All of the candidates they are running will lose to Obama, with the exception of Ron Paul.

I think the RNC and DNC picked Romney

They are satisfied with Romney knowing:
He won't rock the status quo boat
He won't balance the budget
He won't change the foreign policy
He won't repeal any of Obama's bills
He won't stop the bailouts
He won't lower taxes
He won't downsize government
He won't do anything about illegal immigration
...and more.

He WILL tweak around the edges to make it look like he's really doing something but in the end, it's just for show.

He'll continue to raise the debt ceiling and tweak things a tiny bit, but it won't mean anything much to the status quo because the tax payer once again will be forced to pay for the bailouts and spending.

The RNC and DNC are okay with either one at the helm.

Real eyes realize real lies

We want our country back

Every year is a year for Ron Paul!

I think republicans

want to defeat Obama more than anything.
The problem is, they think another Bush is the way to do it.

Obama will not be beaten by just anyone.

Might have it slightly mixed

Might have it slightly mixed up.

General Republican population (as I had said somewhere else in an earlier thread) "Mom & Pop voters" think they DO want to defeat Obama.

The GOP establishment on the other hand doesn't care one way or another. In fact, they're hellbent upon ensuring Obama is re-elected, based on all their fraudulent actions.

GOP voters not voting for Ron Paul are clueless on what their actions are doing. GOP establishment is surely not going to alert them on the fraud.

Immoral funding of Military Industrial Complex by Federal Reserve and US taxation system must stop!!!! End illegal/unconstitutional wars! Preserve US currency!

The GOP establishment knows this and doesn't care

Because Obama is a neo-con as surely as Cheney and Wolfowitz. The whole point is instituting an Orwellian superstate and it doesn't matter which figurehead occupies the White House.

They are for Anybody But Ron Paul. And Ron Paul is going to win!

Take back the GOP and Restore America Now.

Correct and a well written article

I think Romney, Santorum and Gingrich want to win, I have my doubts that the establishment Republicans do. The strategy as I see it is this. Let Obama win this, as he will be term limited in 2016, if all gos as planned the economy will crash. The Republicans will then pick up the majority in the Senant, gain governorships and retain the house after the 2014 midterm elections. In 2016 the public will be ready for a change and I am sure the Republicans will promise whatever the public wants to hear. The last thing either party wants is a Dr Paul to interfere and end this game. An audit exposure of the Fed is the true fear here, what we know is unbelieveable, its what don't we know about the corruption in the government that scares them. When are the people going to wake up and see this charade for what it is?

The economy WILL crash, it

The economy WILL crash, it will begin before Nov. and that will allow any Republican to beat Obama! The crash will end by the end of the next presidents first year and by the end of the next term whoever is the president will be heralded as the savior of the economy, be it Obama, Mitt, or Paul. We must elect Ron Paul as the improving economy will mainstream his ideas!

Republicans and Democrats

are wings of the same bird. The only candidate who does not represent special interests is Ron Paul. That's why they fear him.

The most uneducated ones do

The most uneducated ones do of course because they think that Obama is a liberal and they want a conservative like Bush (well THEY think he was a conservative).

The leaders of the party should be thrilled that Obama is carrying on the legacy and policies of big government socialist Bush.

Both of these groups fear Ron Paul.

The Author is Eminently Correct!

But do the dopes in the Republican Primary electorate listen?Nope.....

Ron Paul'08

Your're on to something.

Sure, they'd prefer to win, but not at the cost of Ron Paul leading. Why, he'd jam up the never ending money printing scheme both parties have going on. They can't have that.

alan laney

My belief is that they do not want to beat Obama.

They are perfectly happy as long as he continues their wars of empire. They don't care at all about any deficits or debt or fiscal sanity.
They try to "claim" that they care about it, and that is all.

Any establishment candidate will do,

regardless of the rhetoric.

πολλα γαρ πταιομεν απαντες ει τις εν λογω ου πταιει ουτος τελειος ανηρ δυνατος χαλιναγωγησαι και ολον το σωμα

If Republicans opposed socialism, they wouldn't have supported

the Bush "drugs for geezers" (Medicare part D) program.

Isn't that right, Mr. Santorum?

Of course, the GOP

Of course, the GOP establishment does NOT want to defeat Obama. They want to do everything possible to ensure Obama is re-elected! How else can anyone explain their actions from North Dakota, Missouri, Maine, Washington, Nevada....the entire nation?

Immoral funding of Military Industrial Complex by Federal Reserve and US taxation system must stop!!!! End illegal/unconstitutional wars! Preserve US currency!

At the highest levels of

At the highest levels of Republican party leadership this presidential race has nothing to do with Republicans versus Obama.

It has everything to do with Republican + Democratic politicians wanting to prevent Dr. Ron Paul from becoming POTUS. They all know, on both sides of the aisle, that Dr. Paul will not play their political games, will not permit them to play their political games and worse, Dr. Paul becoming POTUS will be an educational lesson to The People which is so impactful that it will permanently change national politics in a significant way. Dr. Paul becoming President will be a literal shakeout of Washington.

Dr. Paul wants to become President of the US not simply to be President but rather so that he can change the course of history. With our help he will succeed.
