LYRICS TO THIS GREAT SONG (thanks Specially blend)

"We Are Young"
(feat. Janelle Monáe)

Give me a second I,
I need to get my story straight
My friends are in the bathroom getting higher than the Empire State
My lover she’s waiting for me just across the bar
My seat’s been taken by some sunglasses asking bout a scar, and
I know I gave it to you months ago
I know you’re trying to forget
But between the drinks and subtle things
The holes in my apologies, you know
I’m trying hard to take it back
So if by the time the bar closes
And you feel like falling down
I’ll carry you home

Tonight
We are young
So let’s set the world on fire
We can burn brighter than the sun

Tonight
We are young
So let’s set the world on fire
We can burn brighter than the sun

Now I know that I’m not
All that you got
I guess that I, I just thought
Maybe we could find new ways to fall apart
But our friends are back
So let’s raise a cup
‘Cause I found someone to carry me home

Tonight
We are young
So let’s set the world on fire
We can burn brighter than the sun

Tonight
We are young
So let’s set the world on fire
We can burn brighter than the sun

Carry me home tonight (Nananananana)
Just carry me home tonight (Nananananana)
Carry me home tonight (Nananananana)
Just carry me home tonight (Nananananana)

The moon is on my side
I have no reason to run
So will someone come and carry me home tonight
The angels never arrived
But I can hear the choir
So will someone come and carry me home

Tonight
We are young
So let’s set the world on fire
We can burn brighter than the sun

Tonight
We are young
So let’s set the world on fire
We can burn brighter than the sun

So if by the time the bar closes
And you feel like falling down
I’ll carry you home tonight

Good news!

It looks like there will be some national delegate spots chosen at the CD convention April 13th.

I think we may be trying to get 1-3 people running for these positions at that convention. If you are interested in that spot or have someone who is determine to go to the national convention for Ron Paul then send me a message so I can help coordinate some votes for your delegation.

I just re-found the most informative site on the delegation process.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Thursday 12 April - Friday 13 April 2012: Colorado's District Conventions. The Congressional District 7 Convention is held on 12 April and Congressional Districts 1 through 6 are conducted on on 13 April.

Distict Caucuses choose the 21 National Convention Delegates (3 in each of Colorado's 7 Congression Districts) along with the district's delegates to the Colorado State Republican Convention.

There is no formal system applied in the District Caucus to relate the presidential preference of the District Caucus delegates to the choice of the election district's delegates to the National or State Republican Convention. The delegates in attendance at each District Caucus alone determine if presidential preference is to be a factor and, if so, how it is to be applied.

Saturday 14 April 2012: The Colorado State Republican Convention convenes. The State Convention chooses 12 of 36 delegates from Colorado to the Republican National Convention.

There is no formal system applied in the Convention to relate the presidential preference of the Convention delegates to the choice of the Convention's delegates to the Republican National Convention. The delegates in attendance at the State Convention alone determine if presidential preference is to be a factor and, if so, how it is to be applied.
In addition, 3 party leaders, the National Committeeman, the National Committeewoman, and the chairman of the Colorado's Republican Party, will attend the convention by virtue of their position, bound to the candidate of choice."

How about Delta County?

Does anyone know what's happening there?

Ron Paul swept all delegates

Ron Paul swept all delegates in Delta county. My dad is one

Awesome!

I knew that Montrose had a lot of supporters as well.

Can you send him my email and see if he wants to help coordinate that county. Some of the other county leaders are putting together a conference call soon and it would be great to have Delta involved.

martinez.gerald@gmail.com

Thanks,

I hadn't heard anything since Ron Paul commented about it after the vote. I sent the campaign an email urging them to pay a visit to the western slope knowing many there feel separate from the eastern slope. I can understand why Ron couldn't, and was very glad to hear him mention Delta county in reference to delegates.
Thanks again.

Not me

I have the names of leaders for like 8 counties but I don't have any contacts for Delta.

I'll keep watching,

Thanks.

Awesome!

I am also a state delegate in CO from Mesa County. I will send you a message. We are trying to figure out our srategy for the 14th. I am also a delegate to the HD convention on the 13th but I just got a new job and can only make it to the state convention on the 14th which is fine since that is where we determine national delegates.

I will send you a message so I can keep you updated on our slate and platform strategy from the Mesa County RP delegates.

must attend on 13th

Each Congressional District assembly will choose 3 national delegates. Your most important day to attend will be the 13th, where you can help people in your Congressional District become national delegates.

Please learn about the CD voting and look at the schedule. DEFINITELY attend on the 13th and have every alternate attend on the 13th. As the OP said, he was seated as a delegate even though he was an alternate. Alternates typically get seated at the Congressional District assembly meetings because so many people think it doesn't matter. It does matter!

spot on

very true, 13th is a must along with the 14th but 13th is crucial. I will mention that rp hq needs to email this very important info to all elected delegates and alternates! trying to make meeting thursday, if others can go please do thursday night 7 at rp hq.

.

I don't see how alternate delegates can gain state delegate status at the CD convention. They should have already been determined at the caucus per our bylaws. The state convention should determine what delegates can vote and what alternates can fill empty spots. I will see if I can get the procedures they will use for the CD convention.

they can

bottom line 13th is even more important then the 14th, please contact bonnie cannon. you have to get off work somehow period! you have a revolution to go to!

national delegates

"I don't see how alternate delegates can gain state delegate status at the CD convention."
Right, that won't happen because the CD and State meetings are totally separate BUT they each choose national delegates. The point I was trying to make is, do you know each CD will choose three national delegates?

Colorado assigns delegates three ways:
1) Colorado GOP chair gets a free ride as a national delegate (Ryan Call)
2) 12 national delegates assigned at the state convention on Saturday
3) 3 national delegates assigned from each Congressional District

The CD meetings, particularly the CD meetings on Friday for people that would need to drive in from the Western Slope, are sparsely attended. There will be unfilled seats of delegates who won't attend on Friday, and any alternate delegates for the CD will fill those seats.

Since three national delegates are assigned out of each CD, and since CDs that contain counties on the Western Slope have many no-shows, we can clean up at the CD meetings. Every delegate should attend their CD and every alternate should attend and expect to be seated. Once seated, vote our slate.

Matt Holdridge and Bonnie know the details, if you need confirmation. Please make it a point to get everyone, including alternates, to the CD meetings. We have all worked hard and don't want to throw away our chance to get three national delegate slots from each CD meeting. If you look at the national delegate numbers, the CDs are really the place to target our attention and energy.

Got it.

So there will be a vote for 3 delegates at the CD convention and not just electing the super-delegates who are running for offices? Are you referring to Bonnie Cannon? If so then I will reach out to her to see what our attending CD delegates can do.

When you are nominated out of your BPOU or County convention

this is usually to go to the State & District Convention. Each Congressional District convention elects 3 delegates to go on to the National Convention.

Your vote is very important especially if you have a lot of RP supporters in your district you can send possibly 3 delegates on! Try to show up.

.

I know CD 1-6 delegates will have an opportunity to determine some local CO offices who may be super-delegates but I am not convinced that any of them are RP supporters. It is possible to nominate someone from the floor if there is a second. I don't know if this is even plausible considering our current GOP establishments hold on the party.

I had asked in another post if there is a way to open up super delegate spots by either suspending the rules or another point of order so that we could have nominations from the state convention floor but I haven't gotten any advice on that.

Does anyone have the items of business that will be conducted for the CO conventions? I have reached out to some contact for this and am waiting for a response.

oh crap,

i would hate to be XXXXed.

I haven't been XXXXed in years
