Great Video

Here's a thought, turn that sucker into the backdrop for a water park ride, all proceeds benefit the tsunami victims.

Or would that be in bad taste?

(flicks tongue) yeah its

A creative, peaceful way to inspire

voluntary foreign aid -- or rather, aid to individuals in distress -- I like your creative thinking. If people love sensationalism, find a way to turn that into a benefit!

Also Points Out

to fundamentalists who believe God is going to come save us with an end-times scenario if anything REALLY bad happens here in the good old USA.

How many times have I told my daughter that Jesus left John the Baptist in prison because he knew that much good would come from the faith he would dig down to retrieve and the hope it would give others who face adversity.

Granted the adversity temperature has been slow here...like boiling a frog...but we for generations have been spared the kinds of devastation and illicit wars others have been through.

We are now living in a different kind of tsunami. It is slow moving, but perhaps even more devastating in its direction. Perhaps the higher PTB thought in slow motion we just might get it and have the faith, and the courage and the strength to turn things around. I hope it is so.

Thanks, I hadn't seen that.

The windshield wipers- those don't seem to stop a tsunami.

I am not making light of what happened - I suspect some of the people in that video did not survive. However, both the car filming and a van floating by had their windshield wipers on, and it struck me sort of funny. I am sure it was raining or splashing, but by the time the cars are floating around.... I dunno, I have an odd sense of humor.

Love or fear? Choose again with every breath.

Also a little humorous

along the same lines... someone had one of the Texas tornados forming on film yesterday. He's sitting on the highway, and people are driving by with their hazard lights on. With a gigantic tornado nearby. Hazard lights. A little bit silly.

The goggles, they do nothing.

See the title for the appropriate usage of the internet meme.

In all seriousness, there are reasons why dark humor exists.

thank you--

so hard to see.

it's hard to be awake; it's easier to dream--

Awesome Power of Nature

I do believe this is a metaphor for what is gradually happening in our world economy. Right now we are at the stage where everything is shaking but we can still drive around alright.

Really glad the guy got out.

I was worried that he was just sitting there until I read the paragraph below the footage.

I thought he was staying in to get the shot!

What amazing footage of an incredibly horrible event.

Stop feeding the propaganda machine. Turn off your TV.

Wow, the devastation in such a short period of time is crazy! I'd say it's pretty symbolic of what's going on the country. People are driving around thinking that the impending danger of the tsunami is too far away and that it won't get them... when BOOM!... they're all engulfed in its effects!

Yes, this country had better wake up real fast. Otherwise, there's an impending economic tsunami that will engulf us and perhaps make the Great Depression look like a cake walk. We cannot continue the unsustainable road we are currently traveling on.
