Some Paul supporters are incapable of abstract thought

I’m sorry; it needs to be said on here: Some Ron Paul supporters are just as blind as the conservatives and liberals we’re supposed to be against. I’m talking about so called supporters on the Daily Paul who start acting like dumb wrestling fans every time someone dares distract them from their Ron Paul fantasy world they pretend to live on for a few minutes. These people don’t like Paul for his ideas on liberty or the constitution; they are fans of Ron Paul just because they are fans of Ron Paul. If Paul didn’t exist, they’d worship at the alter of Bruce Springsteen or any other public figure. Look, I’m a huge Ron Paul supporter, but there’s a fine line between a Ron Paul supporter and a Ron Paul fanatic who behaves like a teenage girl watching The Beatles perform on Ed Sullivan. A few people on here posted about Gary Johnson today. Nobody endorsed him. Nobody said he is better than Ron Paul. But that didn’t stop fanatics from hootin’ and hollerin’ like a bunch of face painting hockey fans pissed off at the game’s officiating. “Moderator: This is a GOP plant!” “Traitor!” Just because someone posted a video of Gary Johnson’s appearance on the Colbert Report doesn’t mean there is a trilateral commission conspiracy to plant Gary Johnson posts on the Daily Paul just to piss you guys off. Leave the stupidity for Bill Maher’s audience. True defenders of liberty do not belong to isms.

Not to derail your thread, but we REALLY need your help:

Download and print the following (pick whatever format you can view). If you don't have a printer, save the 2 files on a pendrive and take it to Kinkos, OfficeMax to have printed. $30 will get you hundreds of copies:

Try to obtain "voter lists" from your courthouse and pass these out door to door. If you are pressed for time or unable to get to your courthouse:

Go house to house and stuff newspaper boxes, under windshield wipers of cars in parking lots, go door to door if you have time! Churches, supermarkets, wherever there are cars in parking lots.

We can do this!

One post about Johnson isn't

One post about Johnson isn't something I get upset about. 5 active topics about Johnson is something that makes me think "infiltrator". He's nothing special to me so I don't bother to read or comment on posts about him unless there are many.

Cyril's picture

Fair enough, good points

And since it's about abstract thinking, just thought I should share this.

I sure believe it shows the LAST curve as being, ALSO, Ron Paul's current Problem Shape in his defense of Liberty :

And not just the one faced by scientists.

This is the very problem looming at the horizon of the People's future of Liberty (if nothing was done), the same problem that this R3VOLUTION is fighting and WILL WIN against.

I like the idea that a sound abstract thinking SHOULD BE :

the recognition of harmful, destructive patterns in ideas, claims, and history. And the recognition of the few simple principles that protect us from those : unalienable rights and the US Constitution to begin with.

And that IT MUST NOT BE what all the other power-greedy, corrupt, servile minions do : label, categorize, classify, group, entitle, oppose in manichean ways, ...

"Cyril" pronounced "see real". I code stuff.

Study/Read the Constitution

There are many RP supporters I've spoken to have never even read the constitution. They know nothing more about it other than sound bytes on TV/YouTube.

You are obviously just a paid

You are obviously just a paid infiltrator working for the Rothschilds to bring about the NWO! Haha just kidding.

But seriously, I think you're somewhat on the right track here. I don't know if I'd say that people here like Ron Paul solely for personal reasons. Ron Paul isn't the stereotypical superficial politician like Romney who can use good looks and personal charm to get support from people. So I do think these people support Ron for his philosophy. It's just that I feel some people on here forget at times that the movement is bigger than Ron Paul. Ron Paul is not the end goal. He is merely the beginning (even if he doesn't win). The fact that he has been so alone in Washington over the years promotes this intense personal attachment, and I think we need to focus on using the success of Ron Paul's campaigns as a springboard to sending more people like him to Washington, so we don't have to focus so exclusively on one man.

No need to apologize -

Although you said it, I'm afraid that won't change the attitudes of the ones you are talking about here. I don't think it "needed" to be said, as it has been painfully obvious by certain reactions and replies. To clear things up, the OP is NOT necessarily talking about the "Johnson" posts. He's referring to the ignorance and close-minded attitudes of a few. Here's one example (mine since it was easy to find in my account) of the closed mentality of some:

Many here have learned a lot from Dr. Paul. Unfortunately, some skipped his lesson on tolerance. And yes, I expect MORE from my fellow Ron Paul supporters. What would Ron Paul Do?

Cracks me up

Let me help you.

Some X supporters are just as Y as Z. This statement can be said (and typically said) about any campaign. The "I'm sorry" is somewhat amusing. If you have something to say, say it without apology.

Thanks for telling me how to

Thanks for telling me how to begin a sentence. It cracks me up when those who claim to be fans of liberty try to act like authority figures on message boards.

No one here is a cult member.

No one here is a cult member. I doubt that anyone's support for Ron Paul is based on the abstract. The abstract is what draws people to the other candidates.

As a supporter and donator to the campaign, I can not help but be offended by threads suggesting support for another candidate, no matter who they are.

RON PAUL 2012 * Restore America * Bring The Troops Home

Instead of apologizing for your post

why don't you just not post it? If your only purpose in posting here is to insult Ron Paul's supporters, then why don't you go someplace where it will be more appreciated and do it there?

Here's an abstract thought.

Maybe people here legitimately do not like, trust, believe in, identify with, support or endorse Gary Johnson or his egotistical "I can streamline government", "make it efficient","keep guantanamo bay open", "don't end the fed just balance its sheets" "moderate foreign policy of intervention" "humanitarian wars are ok" "statist lite" thinking. He is a pale shadow of Ron Paul and that's being kind. We vote for principle around here. Not personality. Not horse races. Not expediency. Principle. Even Ron Paul falls a little short but he is the best we have and miles ahead of anyone else.

Anyone thinking we're backing Ron Paul because we're a cult of personality is a fool and doesn't know what they're talking about. Your accusations are unfounded, uninformed, unhelpful and divisive.

No, your accusations are

No, your accusations are unfounded and uninformed because I don't support Gary Johnson. Do you have an example of me supporting Gary Johnson or is this just a Pavlov dog response you have to hearing his name?

Wouldn't the criticism be relevant

whether, or not, you supported GJ?

I love it when a plan comes together.

I love it when a plan comes together.

Ron Paul has never let me down. I plan to return the favor.

"What if the American people learn the truth" - Ron Paul

can we all get along for the cause? ?

I completely understand how you feel and what you mean.. in a crowd you have smart people and not so smart people that will follow to follow.. but we need to just keep looking forward. Teach the ones you feel need to know the reasons you support Dr. PAUL like we do here and keep our group one so we can fight against our rivals together.. my thoughts ..

I'm sure your rant

would be much better received on "The Daily Johnson".

Maybe you should go there.

Sounds like a porn site.

I'll probably be voting for

I'll probably be voting for Gary Johnson if Ron Paul doesn't get the nomination.

As much as I would love to vote for RP after all that has happened, I feel it is of no use to waste my vote on a write in when it could be used for something more influential, like increasing the third party numbers.

Let's face it, even if 10,000,000 people write him in, it will not be reported in the news, anyway.

You have a point - I did some research a few months ago

regarding write-in votes - some states do not count nor report them. I haven't decided what I'll do if he's not the nominee(it's not over 'till it's over). Johnson is the only other candidate I can vote for.

You clearly don't know what "abstract reasoning" is.

But don't let us stop you from whining.

My thoughts...

... but I kept them to myself. I'm working hard at getting Ron Paul elected. I'm contributing cash and I've filed an application to be a delegate. However, worse case scenario and the neocons prevail, if Ron Paul accepts Gary Johnson's offer to be his VP, we'll have another Johnson in the White House in 2013, but a Johnson of the best kind... uhuh.. is that a rotten tomato coming my way? I'd better duck out of here.

Well I think maybe some

Well I think maybe some people are just tired...tired of trolls hijacking the site, tried of media spin, tired of being lied to, etc... So sometimes patience is in short supply, and anyone who might seem on the surface to be doing or saying something that appears to be counterproductive can be dismissed as a possible "troll". Maybe that's when it's a good time to take a step back for a moment, to stay focused and grounded.

That said, this post is kinda counterproductive too.

Not sure ? Abstract might actually apply ?

If I disappear from a discussion please forgive me. My 24-7 business requires me to split mid-sentence to serve them. I am not ducking out, I will be back later to catch up.

Quite right - and it needed to be said.

There's nothing wrong with passion. I'd walk over burning broken glass for Dr. Paul, but only because I know (not feel, not believe - know, based on reason) why Dr. Paul is right.

We are not, contrary to what our critics sometimes claim, a personality cult. We win this r3volution by knowing what we're talking about and by never wavering from the course which we know to be right - not by letting emotion lead us blindly.
