Ron Paul Named 'Taxpayers Best Friend' For 2011
Submitted by emalvini on Wed, 04/04/2012 - 16:34National Taxpayers Union awards Dr. Paul its top grade for defending overtaxed Americans
LAKE JACKSON, Texas – Congressman and 2012 Republican Presidential candidate Ron Paul was recently awarded an ‘A’ rating for a yearlong voting record of defending American taxpayers. Specifically, the National Taxpayers Union (NTU) conferred its 2011 Taxpayers’ Friend Award on the 12-term Congressman from Texas for “consistently voting to reduce the burden on America’s taxpayers.” Of the 15 times since 1997 that the NTU has graded Ron Paul on taxpayer friendliness, Dr. Paul received 15 ‘A’ awards.
In its announcement, the NTU notes that it performs a comprehensive analysis of every vote on tax and fiscal policy each year to determine a Member’s voting record on issues of importance to taxpayers. This year the NTU compiled an exhaustive 337 votes in the House of Representatives and 234 in the Senate, and just 53 Members of Congress including Dr. Paul received an ‘A’ rating. In the House, Dr. Paul scored in the top four with his colleagues Rep. John Duncan, Jr. (R-TN), Ed Royce (R-CA), and John Campbell (R-CA). “We’re pleased yet unsurprised that Ron Paul earned the NTU’s top rating for the year 2011. In principle and in practice, Dr. Paul is the nation’s number-one advocate for constitutionally-limited government, which necessarily means an end to federal taxes that burden American workers, households, and enterprises,” said Ron Paul 2012 National Campaign Chairman Jesse Benton.
“Dr. Paul stands out from the crowd of elected officials and presidential candidates of both parties with a frequently-articulated, refreshingly-candid antipathy toward taxing the fruits of one’s labor. He will continue to fight for the rights of taxpayers as President and as an involved citizen, as NTU members do,” added Mr. Benton.
Founded in 1969, and with 362,000 members, the NTU is one of the nation’s premier independent, non-partisan taxpayer advocacy groups. The organization operates at all levels of government, mobilizing elected officials and the general public on behalf of tax relief and reform, lower and less wasteful spending, individual liberty, and free enterprise. FYI, I'm just posting this
FYI, I'm just posting this here to get eyeballs of whomever it may apply to.
I'm from southwestern Michigan and am looking to move some Ron Paul slim jims (issue cards) to northwest Indiana, especially the South Bend area. I'm willing to deliver about seventy-five dollars worth of them for just twenty-five bucks, all of which will be going to fund more campaigning. The campaign saves the shipping and production costs which do nothing to help the campaign, you save a lot of money period, and I can move left over inventory that would otherwise go to waste and help fund my Uncle and I for delegate campaigning in Michigan. Win-win-win= win for all.
Let me know if you're interested, thanks!
Can someone tell me where do
Can someone tell me where do you get that great picture "war/never served peace/veteran" poster? I love that!
I signed in just to ask that same question!
What a wonderful pic!!
Ron Paul : Taxpayers Best Friend 15 Years in a Row!
The article is in fact accurate. It doesn't rank him #1, it only grades him an "A" and that is what the article says..
You're right...And lets keep it that way!
This is a fight for the survival of this very nation.

Ron Paul - The American Taxpayers' Best Friend

Ron Paul, for the 15th time in 15 years, was awarded the “Taxpayers’ Friend Award” by the National Taxpayers Union (NTU). The “Taxpayers’ Friend Award” is given to members of Congress who received a taxpayer score of “A”, which indicates that the member is one of the strongest supporters of responsible tax and spending policies. In order to determine the evaluations of members of Congress, the National Taxpayers Union conducts an unbiased analysis of how each member voted on several bills (they used a sample of 337 important economic bills for the 2011 analysis).
Ron Paul has received an “A” every year the rating has been done. He has also been in the top 10 out of all 435 US House Representatives every single year the rating has been done. In the most recent analysis (2011), Ron Paul was the 3rd highest ranked member (Top 0.7% of Congress), and he has been ranked #1 multiple years.
In comparison, Former Senator Rick Santorum, who has proclaimed himself the “lone conservative” in the GOP Field, received significantly lower marks than Ron Paul from the National Taxpayers Union. In Rick Santorum’s last 2 years in the senate, he received scores of B+ & B (compared to Ron Paul’s A & A).
Barack Obama, during his years in the Senate, received the lowest grade possible (F) for 2005, 2006 & 2007.
For voters who think that America needs to get out of debt, and that we need to restore America to the economical powerhouse that it once was, there is one clear choice - and that is Ron Paul - the American Taxpayers’ Best Friend.

Dr. Paul was ranked #3
According to the National Taxpayers Union (NTU) website. Check for yourself. My Congressman John J. Duncan, who I actually work for temporarily was ranked #1.
He is a good man. I don't see how Paul is ranked 3, but according to the NTU's own website that is what it says. So let's make sure we spread facts and not fiction!

Let's spread this!
I just submitted to Drudge - this could be a big bump for Dr. Paul. Obviously, we all know this is what Dr. Paul is like, but many others have no idea, this is a good example. SPREAD SPREAD SPREAD.
Ron Paul 2012!
Edit: So far, I've found one external article about this - let's get this number up!!!! (http://politicalnews.me/?id=13093&keys=DEFENDING-AMERICAN-TA...)

Constitutionality
The income tax was ratified as part of the 16th Amendment. So yes, it's constitutional. Just like several other decisions made in 1913, it's one that should be carefully examined and possibly repealed--preferably by another amendment.
Okay
I won't nitpick.
It's just I'm one of those crazies to believe in a Constitution already complete enough up to the 14th (inclusive).
For modern times interpretation anyway.
I still fail to see what money specifics have anything to be relevant with, in a Constitutional text, once property, justice and liberty have been defined way prior in the same text.
Especially re: money and ties to the Federal State.
Same goes for my sex life, my bad private habits, my bookshelves, my raising my kids, my dealing with my employers, my food preferences, my faith (or lack thereof), my private superstitions, my hopes, my dreams, my fears, my pets, my drugs, my private comms, etc, etc, etc. Judges are wise enough elders (or youngers) to decide if I am in my right, **SHOULD** someone have to complain about me.
The Federal State re: my money or anything else in my life, in list above ?
I'd like it to be : NONE OF THEIR FREAKING BUSINESS. Thank You.
My (shared) understanding of Liberty ;)

Choir
youre preaching to the choir. but make no mistake... the amendments to he constitution are supercede older text from said constitution. its the supreme law of the land and that goes for all of them. that said i dont accept the income tax carte blanc either but we would need to convince lawmakers to stop using that amendment before it could be repealed once and for all.

I second that DUH!
:)
You'd think that would get him all the media in the country....
To cover him front & center at this point, wouldn't you?
Oh I forgot, there is a Dancing with the Stars Program on.
Our "free press" is an absolute travesty filled joke.
There's No One Better On 'God Green Earth' Then Ron Paul...
Congratulation Dr. Paul...That makes 15 'Taxpayers Best Friend Awards.....1997 - 2011...WOW!!
