Paul Festival - Tampa, FL Aug.24-26

BIG NEWS fellow Ron Paul supporters and Lovers of Liberty everywhere! Over the past several months, a coalition of grassroots supporters from across the country (some of the same individuals who brought you the Revolution March on Washington DC, with over 15,000 participants, as well as some volunteers from the Rally for the Republic with over 20,000 in attendance), have joined forces with other talented supporters to produce what many of you have been blogging and posting about here for quite some time! Introducing:

Florida State Fairgrounds (pending) - August 24-26,
the weekend before the Republican National Convention!

This event will be THE event of our generation, and will be held in honor of Dr. Paul, the Champion of the Constitution, which he has dedicated his entire life to upholding. Also, it just so happens that his 77th birthday falls a few days beforehand, so come join us in the celebration! With a capacity of over 100 thousand people, over 355 acres, 20,000 lit parking spaces, 400+ camping sites, and six buildings with over 273,000 square feet of indoor space, this will be the BIGGEST festival celebrating Liberty in the history of our time, BY FAR! Let the LAMEstream media try to keep US quiet!

We invite you to connect with us and get the latest updates at www.PAULFESTIVAL.com. This will be a massive undertaking, and WE NEED VOLUNTEERS!!! You will also have the opportunity to make advanced ticket purchases on the website, as well as reserve travel and lodging packages, T-shirts, and more! This is a GRASSROOTS effort, organized and put together by dedicated everyday individuals just like you who have volunteered their time and energy to the cause of Liberty. WE NEED YOUR SUPPORT in order to make this event a reality. THIS IS A NON-PROFIT EVENT. All donations and funds raised will go toward the promotion/production of this event, securing an A-list of celebrities, and musicians, etc. This may be a pivotal moment in bringing awareness to the 521 delegates up for grabs at the convention, and securing the GOP nomination for Dr. Paul. We intend to invite ALL the delegates to experience the message of freedom- and have fun doing it!

Vet are already marching?

The Vets are already planning to come for the convention, I think who is planning this Festival talk to Adam Kokesh.

I live here at the ground zero Tampa. Go to Tampa Bay for Ron Paul. Veterans March on the Republican Nation Convention and Rides for Ron Paul all on facebook.

If planning to camp, a recommendation

I am very fortunate in that I live only 20 minutes from the fairground.

If anyone is planning to camp near the Tampa fairground, I recommend the Hillsborough River State Park. Great facility (very nice huge pool, nice bathrooms/showers, etc.), and they take online reservations (just checked, plenty of availability). You can tent (bring a cover tarp, it rains almost every afternoon for an hour or so in August) or RV, and they allow pets. It's only five minutes away from the fairground. ($24 per night)

But if that's booked solid, another nice lesser-known campground is in Ruskin (20 minutes away from fairground), E.G. Simmons Park. They don't take reservations, but I've never seen them full to capacity, either; it's a little off the beaten path. No pool, but right on the water (Tampa Bay). New bathrooms/showers, almost every site is on a saltwater canal that connects with the bay (fish from your site). The usual water/electric service, plenty of shade on most sites, and some sites have gorgeous bay views at sunset. ($24 per night, only $18 for seniors.)

Try and get CSPAN to show up at least.

We're going to do everything

We're going to do everything we can to gain as much media coverage as possible! We have ongoing discussions as to how to attract the greatest amount of media coverage, but this requires as much participation from as many supporters of the movement as possible. The capacity of the venue is 100K+, and we want this event to be filled to max capacity! If you have any suggestions as to how we can gain more participation, and get media coverage, we welcome any and all suggestions!

Can we call it....

We've had extensive

We've had extensive discussions about the name of the event in the past. There were many great suggestions, but we decided to settle with Paul Festival, since this is in honor of a man who has dedicated his entire life to the cause of freedom and liberty. It's also simple and unassociated with any prior events, and most importantly describes what exactly the event is about.

But regardless of what its called, it is the substance of the event that is significant. We hope that everyone will remember that what is going on these days... not just the last few years, but what's been happening for the last few decades cannot be sustained, and SHOULD not be allowed to continue in its present form. And the reason we fight, and dedicate our time, energy and resources is not only for us, but for our children, and their children's children... We want to be able to stand tall and proudly proclaim that even in the face of great adversity, we stood with Dr. Paul and a hundred thousand fellow Americans in his quest for Liberty. THAT'S what this event is about.

As long as it has Ron Paul's

As long as it has Ron Paul's name in it, it will be fine. Hopefully the neocons will not be able to co-opt it like they did the Tea Party.

The name needs to be changed to the...

...PRESIDENT Paul Festival.

This sounds good - is Ron

This sounds good - is Ron catching this idea too?

Would he come to this bash?

He did attend the prior

He did attend the prior events organized by the members of this group, so we hope that he will do so again this time. There are no guarantees, but if 100K people show up to our event, held the weekend before the GOP convention, I think it would give him a strong reason to stop by.

Also, please keep in mind that we are doing everything we can to not be associated with any superPAC's specifically because of this reason. Dr. Paul will almost certainly not attend if we are in any way financed or associated with a superPAC. So what that means is that we have to raise our own money in order to make this event a reality and to be able to have Dr. Paul come and speak at the event. As mentioned in the announcement, we are just regular folks with jobs and families. We have payments, rent, mortgages, and mouths to feed. None of us are being paid in any way shape or form to do this, and any profits from the event WILL be going back to the campaign. We are still in search of an attorney who can help us nail down the details, but none of the organizers will be profiting from the event in any way. But we ask the supporters of the movement to please help out their part as well.. volunteer and donate if you can - but definitely come join us in the celebration!

I really hope I become a Delegate

I'll definitely make it out to this before the Convention. The Ronvoy idea is savage! I hope everyone is bring copies of Robert's Rules of Order to read on the way!

My best to make it from PA.

Concurring with other comments, it'd be great to see this event conjoin with the Convention etc

My wife and I went to the

My wife and I went to the Rally for the Republic held in the Target Center. We encountered no problems at all from the police or otherwise. It was an experience we will cherish for ever. We do not have to be on top of the Convention Center to make our point, therefore there is no need for the police interferring with our rally. I like the idea of making this a "Ron Stock" happening with Rock and Roll bands participating in the events. They could be provided free space to set up booths to sell their wares in return for their participation in the event. We could provide free drinking water, ice , and Porta Potties. Individual dress and personal hygene should be left up to the individual period. Keep the rules few and simple - respect your neighbor and share if you can. Remember the "Love" in revolution and the event will be successful.

I was at the Rally for the

I was at the Rally for the Republic as well and didn't have any issues...but did you see all the police who were standing by? While walking from the parking garage to the Target center we walked past a long line of vans parked on the side of the road with #s written on the windows with some temporary wax like marker. Inside were police officers sitting ready to intervene at a moments notice. Thankfully they were not needed and we didn't see them after that.

We need to have TSA at the

We need to have TSA at the entrance to make sure no one enters the camp grounds with their dignity intact

President or not, the Revolution is happening and it grows at the local level.

You should be on the ballot for your local Republican Central Committee.

Are any bands lined up or signed on yet?

That would be awesome if we could get Staind, Korn and Aerosmith to play with maybe Joe Rogan hosting.

We should see about Muse.

We should see about Muse. They are very Revolution friendly.

hell yeah!

I second that, Muse is awesome.

...is the plan!

please not Korn or Staind.

please not Korn or Staind. Those bands feature growly voiced weirdos pounding on their instruments to faux Metallica riffs.

I think Aerosmith would or could be more widely accepted - you should try and find artists that could be more widely accepted by an audience than to pick the 'too cool for school' bands.

But sounds like a good time for sure.

Just wanted to mention...

I love Korn and Staind, and they are RON PAUL SUPPORTERS! Plus they have a lot of fans who can potentially become Ron Paul supporters through seeing them at this event! :D We definitely are hoping to have many different genres of entertainment.

There will be different genres

playing on different stages, different times, different days. People will get a schedule and they can attend the days and events they want.

Yet the lead singer from Korn

...endorses Ron Paul. We should leave him off the ticket for sure with that loud crazy, growly sounding weirdos' music(sarcasm). Have you ever been to music festival? Usually, there are many different sounding bands on the cue. Don't get me wrong, I am not a big Korn fan, but keep in mind he openly endorses Ron Paul!

In the beginning of a change the patriot is a scarce man, and brave, and hated and scorned. When his cause succeeds, the timid join him, for then it costs nothing to be a patriot.

Website Fail..... Cant signup or log in...

Whoever is in charge of this website needs to fix the problems with signing in/signing up... If you dont do that soon people are going to think "If they can't keep a website running properly how can they organize an event this large". I am not bashing the organizers, I am just telling it like it is. This is great! I hope it all works out. :)

Truth is treason in an empire of lies

If you are having "security code" problems...

...it may be because you have to do the math. It's not a copy and paste code. It's a simple math problem.

If you're not getting approved right away, don't worry, you will.

We need to make this as

We need to make this as historically important as WoodStock, but we dont want anyone to be thought of as some pot-smoker hippie or some rowdy kids. lets make this dignified, lets talk of peace but not drugs, lets talk of rock and roll, but not sex. Ron Paul will be our drug, our words will be our rock and roll.

I agree

that it needs to be as or more historically important than Woodstock.

However, I reject that we should tell people of what to speak.

I certainly don't think people should be displaying graphic sexual content on the main stage or anything...but "speak of" sex? I think people can speak of sex and...well, at least it won't offend me.

As for drugs...considering the drug war is a HUGE part of the invasion of privacy and restriction of constitutional rights of over 1,000,000 Americans each year, I think we definitely NEED to be talking about drugs, and why they are illegal, and whether it is unconstitutional (it is, btw) for the federal government to make them illegal.

However, words and actions are two different things. And I understand what you're saying. Same as I said earlier...if we want the establishment to take us seriously, we much consider whether our appearance or behavior reflects that.

In the end, however, to each their own. That is, after all, the point of all this. <3
