Paul Festival - Tampa, FL Aug.24-26

BIG NEWS fellow Ron Paul supporters and Lovers of Liberty everywhere! Over the past several months, a coalition of grassroots supporters from across the country (some of the same individuals who brought you the Revolution March on Washington DC, with over 15,000 participants, as well as some volunteers from the Rally for the Republic with over 20,000 in attendance), have joined forces with other talented supporters to produce what many of you have been blogging and posting about here for quite some time! Introducing:

Florida State Fairgrounds (pending) - August 24-26,
the weekend before the Republican National Convention!

This event will be THE event of our generation, and will be held in honor of Dr. Paul, the Champion of the Constitution, which he has dedicated his entire life to upholding. Also, it just so happens that his 77th birthday falls a few days beforehand, so come join us in the celebration! With a capacity of over 100 thousand people, over 355 acres, 20,000 lit parking spaces, 400+ camping sites, and six buildings with over 273,000 square feet of indoor space, this will be the BIGGEST festival celebrating Liberty in the history of our time, BY FAR! Let the LAMEstream media try to keep US quiet!

We invite you to connect with us and get the latest updates at www.PAULFESTIVAL.com. This will be a massive undertaking, and WE NEED VOLUNTEERS!!! You will also have the opportunity to make advanced ticket purchases on the website, as well as reserve travel and lodging packages, T-shirts, and more! This is a GRASSROOTS effort, organized and put together by dedicated everyday individuals just like you who have volunteered their time and energy to the cause of Liberty. WE NEED YOUR SUPPORT in order to make this event a reality. THIS IS A NON-PROFIT EVENT. All donations and funds raised will go toward the promotion/production of this event, securing an A-list of celebrities, and musicians, etc. This may be a pivotal moment in bringing awareness to the 521 delegates up for grabs at the convention, and securing the GOP nomination for Dr. Paul. We intend to invite ALL the delegates to experience the message of freedom- and have fun doing it!

I dont want the press to make us into martyrs

I dont want the press to distort our message, so for that weekend we should not have any pot smokers or illegal activity. we must be one reasonable voice. i dont need any drugs besides ron paul to get high

Just Returned

...From Tampa/StPete/Ybor/Clearwater...
HERE is what you NEED to KNOW:

"Checkpoints set for Island during convention":
"People will encounter security screenings to enter Harbor Island during the RNC" ...all this according to the TampaBay Times, the Tampa PD, AND the SECRET SERVICE.

Seems they are making plans to "cordone off" the Convention and to restrict ALL PUBLIC ACCESS to deny any transparency.
I will be there and expect nothing but mayhem.
Stay tuned for more....Happy Easter!

no need whatsoever to go to

no need whatsoever to go to Harbor Island anyway..

yeah - why are we going to

yeah - why are we going to Harbor Island? We just travel up or down US 301 to the fairgrounds.

True, but "checkpoints" is the word...

...the original article outlined plans by Secret Service to check licences and IDs for a number of areas of proximity to the RNC.
Security protocols as related to travel to RNC will have "checkpoints" and "it's not known if the checkpoints will restrict tourists or visitors" (TampaBay Times 3-27-12)

Just tryin' to keep "us" somewhat informed/prepared, and Susan seems to be well informed, thank God!

Let's make it happen! We need

Let's make it happen! We need an aerial shot of the Park and a map to give folks an idea of where it is located. The Gulf Coast beaches are beautiful.

Nice Pic of Ray Stadium..However...

...here's the real picture:

see my above post re the "lock-down" planned.

You found it! Yay!

You found it! Yay! :P

Regarding the security checkpoints...this is standard procedure. Not that I think it's okay, but it is standard procedure.

I want to be very clear about something here. The streets immediately surrounding the RNC in Minneapolis in 2008 were a complete police state. It was surreal. It sure hit home. I saw complete and absolute proof of the NWO takeover in Minneapolis.
However, I was dressed in business clothing (having come down near the RNC from C4L's Liberty Summit) and I was able to walk UNIMPEDED through the streets of Minneapolis.
I observed protesters dressed like college kids and like the media portrayal of "anarchists" being arrested carte blanche, as I snapped pictures of the events of that day. But I was able to walk right up to the officers, take pictures, and go on about my way. Not ONCE was I asked for my identification, and I think a LOT of it had to do with my appearance (professional, adult, mature, etc.).
I'm not saying people should change everything about themselves - that would certainly defeat the purpose of demanding liberty - but I WILL say that if we want to be taken seriously by the establishment, we must show them that we are serious.

On Monday, August 27, 2012, I honestly don't know if I will have ever felt more safe at a protest, than on the day I march alongside the Veterans for Ron Paul in Tampa.

Also, Paul Fest is taking place approximately 10 miles from the location of the RNC, even less than the distance where we held the Rally for the Republic in Minneapolis was from that year's convention. I expect that we will all be absolutely safe and secure at the Fairgrounds. And, there is no reason NOT to coordinate with local law enforcement, as we did in Washington, DC in 2008 at the Revolution March. What we are doing is completely lawful! It isn't like we're taking up arms to revolt!

Thanks Susan!

Thanks Susan!

Another Thanks Added

Went by the state Fairgrounds down there. Those who have never traveled the roads around Tampa are in for a real chore.
East-West-North-South aren't easily navigated.

Personal preference? Clearwater:Home to many RP supporters.
For the more "mature" crowd (non-campers)here's a spot I discovered that's very clean and reasonable:

Just a "back-up plan", not to rain on the parade any.
See ya'all soon!
Thank You Susan

Venue Size

That would defeat a lot of our purpose for coming to Florida.

I mean, for that matter, Nebraska has a GIGANTIC field somewhere (I'm positive) where we could plop down for the weekend for a festival, if that's all we were trying to accomplish (but it's not!)

We are inviting every RNC delegate to attend Paul Festival, and we want to show them what liberty is supposed to look like.

We will have hotel room blocks for the "mature" crowd, and those rates will be announced as quickly as possible so people can start confirming their lodging.

Hold tight! I think everyone is going to be in for a REAL treat with Paul Festival 2012! Wait and see! :D

Not a great plan.

Having it a week before, and over 3 days means you will have a low concentration of people who come when it is convenient. Having it a WEEK before the convention means I will have to travel to tampa, stay for a day or two and come BACK home, only to have to return the next week for the convention. We need to pack tampa for the convention, not hold some rally a week before. Even if it means changing the venue, your goal should be to have 100k Ron Paul people at the convention, that could turn the odds. Hold your event the day before.

Paul Fest 2012 is the weekend before the RNC starts on Monday, August 27th. We want delegates to travel to Tampa, attend Paul Fest 2012, and then go right into the convention. :)

Thanks! My mistake

I assumed (whoops) that the RNC was the next weekend bc of the wording. If it is monday, then this event sounds great. I did not mean to belittle the organizers doing hard work for the cause of liberty.

RNC 2012, every Ron Paul Supports duty! We owe it to him, and our troops, and our country.

That is great Susan but how

That is great Susan but how do we get HOME? This bothered me all day today. I want to go to this, and am hoping to also be a delegate to the Convention. Will need transportation round trip as will (probably) many others..so this plan is not so hot, for me..I would MUCH prefer going with everyone than driving 1000 miles one way by myself, but no sense in going without a car if I can't get back...:(

Susan is working on

getting the delegates there and back. Hang tight.

OK! Thanks Deb. I really need

OK! Thanks Deb. I really need to know about this..appreciate it.

We have a special plan for the Ron Paul delegates going to the Republican National Convention after Paul Festival, regarding travel home after the RNC. We WILL NOT LEAVE YOU!!

The delegates are the MOST IMPORTANT PART of this entire thing!! YOU and 1,000 other delegates are why we are coming to Tampa! I give you my word, we will make this happen for the delegates.

Please go to the Ronvoy site and REGISTER as a potential or confirmed Ron Paul delegate - it is the first "ticket" available, right at the top of the site. We want to know how many delegates are considering the Ronvoy option, and where all of you are coming from and will need to get back to.

I heartily agree

This is a great idea - hope the OP takes it into consideration. We can get a LOT of supporters in the area at once, and top it all off with an enormous presence at the Convention. No doubt about that.

Then it is a great delegate recruitment tool. Thank you.

We're getting IT on it. It should be fixed soon. Sorry about any inconvenience.

Patrick Henry

Give me liberty...or give me Death!

Take the RonVoy there

Then you don't have to worry about planes crashing. ;)

Stop being such a "scaredy-cat"!!! The whole country is going to crash down in flames if we don't come together in mass support! I guarantee you will wish you had come when you see the video of 100,000+ of us dancing and simultaneously screaming "END THE FED"!!! :)
I'm gonna be There!!! and I'm going to party like it's the end of the Federal Reserve!

Let it be written, that in 2012 we changed the World!!!

...and this banner belongs there!

...I cannot attend; I am a public school janitor who not only cannot afford the trip; but I am not allowed to take vacation time that close to the start of the school-year...somebody put this at a table for me!

Make it on Sunday, spanning it over 3 days is no good, I tried that once. Had a sign wave over 4 hours, only got spurts of people to show. If it was over the course of an hour it would be more concentrated and effective. Plus sunday will kick off the week of the RNC.
