Number of people NOT in the labor force approaches 88 million

The unemployment rate drops to 8.2% for one simple reason: the number of people not in the labor force is back to all time highs: 87,897,000.

ADP announced about 200,000 jobs created nationwide in February, 2012. This is not good news considering near 100 million folks are looking for work (in need of work, whether the government admits it our not).

The US government should not be in the employment management business. They do such a bad job of it.

Unemployment governmental programs aways fail.

And for the same reason. Search throughout history. Like it or not, standing in line waiting for someone else to pay you not to work always fails.

Why? The line is too blasted long.
What work I have done I have done because it has been play. If it had been work I shouldn't have done it.

Who was it who said, "Blessed is the man who has found his work"? Whoever it was he had the right idea in his mind. Mark you, he says his work--not somebody else's work. The work that is really a man's own work is play and not work at all. Cursed is the man who has found some other man's work and cannot lose it. When we talk about the great workers of the world we really mean the great players of the world. The fellows who groan and sweat under the weary load of toil that they bear never can hope to do anything great. How can they when their souls are in a ferment of revolt against the employment of their hands and brains? The product of slavery, intellectual or physical, can never be great.

Net job creation in last 2 years: Negative 1.6 Million.

This is a Depression.
51 Months After The Start Of The Recession, Here Is The Report Card

[See charts at link.]
Recovery? What Recovery? 4 years after central banks have progressively injected over $7 trillion in liquidity into the global markets (and thus, by Fed logic, the economy), and who knows how many trillion in fiscal aid has been misallocated, to halt the Second Great Depression which officially started in December 2007, the US "recovery" is the weakest in modern US history! How many more trillions will have to be printed (and monetized) before the central planners realize that fighting mean reversion by using debt to defeat recore debt, just doesnt't work? Our guess - lots.

Incidentally, the US has now generated 3 million jobs since the trough of the recession in September 2010, until which point it had previously lost 8 million. Unfortunately, since the real labor force has grown by 4.6 million over the same period, or at the conventionally accepeted 90,000 labor pool entrants per month for 51 months, despite what the BLS may say, because America is after all growing, this means that the Obama administration has created a negative 1.6 million jobs net of demographics, which in turn have cost the US a modest $5.1 trillion in new debt, or an even modest $3.1 million in debt for every job lost.

and only 74 million taxpayers

No wonder the Government is looking for new sources of income, and printing fiat money like it is going out of style.

Wish it would go out of style

Including Me

I'm one of them. I've been off work for two years, and, silly me, did not apply for unemployment, so every time they talk about these numbers, I think I should have applied just so I'd be counted.

What do you think? http://consequeries.com/

It also does not include people like me

who intentionally do not work for money, though I work a lot as a volunteer, so as not to be taxed to pay for their wars and waste.

Yeah, the way the government

Yeah, the way the government recently changed the formulas for inflation (CPI/PPI) and unemployment is disgusting. REAL WORLD unemployment approaching 20% and inflation over 10%.

But, who lives in the real world anymore?

As for me, I don't buy much. Typewriter. Ink. Paper...

"...I will now claim--until dispossessed--that I was the first person in the world to apply the typewriter to literature... The early machine was full of caprices, full of defects--devilish ones. It had as many immoralities as the machine of today has virtues. After a year or two I found that it was degrading my character, so I thought I would give it to Howells...He took it home to Boston, and my morals began to improve, but his have never recovered."
