Calling All Delegate Alternates!

With Sen. Santorum suspending his presidential campaign, there will be many delegate spots opening up at the upcoming county, district, and state conventions as his precinct delegates lose interest in the process. This means that alternate delegates just became a lot more important. If you are a county, district, or state convention alternate, make every effort to attend. If you are a Paul delegate leader/coordinator, do your best to get your alternates to the convention.

If we do not fill open spots with our alternates (spots we are entitled to, if our people were elected at the previous level), the establishment will seek to fill the delegate slots with party hacks (AKA Romney supporters) instead. Don't let Romney eat our lunch!

I will be posting regularly to reflect upcoming conventions.

May 02 Update: Now that Newt Gingrich has also suspended his campaign, there will likely be many more delegate slots opening up for Paul alternates, particularly at upcoming conventions in the South. Liberty alternates, fill those open spots in Dixie!

State Conventions: Weekend of June 02-03

Liberty alternates, this shapes up to be the most important convention weekend of the 2012 campaign. We have a realistic chance of emerging with a plurality of delegates in 3 states. When combined with our existing pluralities in Maine and Minnesota, 3 more states will qualify Dr. Paul to have his name placed in nomination for President in Tampa. Liberty alternates, your participation is critical!

Very important, as an alternate in 2008 I was able to vote most

Very important, as an alternate in 2008 I was able to vote most of the time at the state convention in Texas for this very reason. The delegates were simply not showing up.

All I had to do is sit down in one of their empty seats.

BAM! We win.

Thank you for your dedication...

One alternate's vote wins a National delegate for Dr. Paul!

A recent post here at DP included the following:

"One vote -- that of an alternate! -- has made the difference already this year. At CD 7, we elected our national delegate by a single vote. YOU may be that vote this weekend."

The entire post is well worth the time to read:

I agree completely

Find out the procedure to fill in for a delegate (or alternate) that did not show up and then just do it!

We were told at our County Convention in Washington that several delegates as a rule

DO NOT SHOW UP!!!

THEREFORE WHAT AN OPPORTUNITY FOR US!

BUT WE HAVE TO BE ORGANIZED ABOUT IT!

betty
