Doug Wead: What Now? Ron Paul’s path to victory

What Now? Ron Paul’s path to victory
By Doug Wead

"Okay, Rick Santorum is out. What does it mean for the race to the GOP nomination? And what choices does the Ron Paul campaign now face?
You can help us decide. Here are some options. And you don’t have to chose just one."

1.Make an all out effort to go for it.

2.Become the anti-Romney candidate and try to gather in all of his opponents.

3.Work with Gingrich to block Romney.

4.Stay in the race but don’t antagonize the GOP leadership.

5.Seek a deal with Romney while it still matters.

6.Be prepared for a separate “Liberty Convention” in case Romney wins the nomination and shuts us out.

7.Prepare for a Third Party run.

We always say vote for a president not a party,

We always say vote for a president not a party. I say it because I mean it. So I am confused as to why winning the republican party primary is a factor for Ron Paul running for president. I don't want a Republican or a Democrat I want a damn president.

I hoped they would have made an ad showing the troops marching to the White House on Presidents Day so America would see what the media hides. Our troops marching and chanting President Paul brought me to tears and the fact that nobody besides supporters are aware of this makes me want to cry.

I made the chant my ringtone and because of that I have waken up at least 20 people Imagine what an ad that reaches millions would do.

I'm just sayin........

I believe number 1 covers

I believe number 1 covers them all! Go for it!

Question:

How come this post changes the six options Doug Wead presents to seven options? There is an additional option not on Doug Wead's blog post.

I actually originally wrote about option 6 and had to switch it to option 7.

Let me know.

Definitely.

Also, ORGANIZE THESE CROWDS AT THE RALLIES.

There needs to be literature, and voter registration drives, and the ability to collect donations.

I went to a Harry Browne speech a few years ago, and his campaign staff actually passed the hat after his speech. Similar things should be done at Paul rallies, because it shows a common touch, and it lets the crowd know that they are important in more than just a headcount way.

Take some of the campaign cash and buy a spot right after Meet The Press or something, and show a half-hour spot detailing Paul's policies, and showing a comparison of Romney vs. Paul speeches, and the crowds drawn there. Take some of the more cogent chunks of Paul's speeches and mix them in. Release the video simultaneously on Youtube, and make note of that fact during the paid-for spot.

Dr. Paul's message has to get out there, somehow. With the media ignoring his campaign utterly, we need to force the issue somehow. Money talks, bullshit walks.

Also, consider asking for a Declaration of War on Iran, and force the debate, subpoena people and require them to tell what they know to the American public. When the whole idea goes down in flames, the President's hands will be tied. If nothing else, it could keep us out of a war that would spell the end of this country.

I say 1, 2, 3 and 7. I really

I say 1, 2, 3 and 7. I really think the campaign needs to increase there contact with the grassroots and start directing us as to what needs to be done. I think the campaign needs to take off the gloves and start drilling the MSM and demanding fair coverage. Tell us how you need us to help and keep us informed just like in this situation. We can win this together!

option 7 3rd party

there were 2 layouts where in 1 place option 6 is 3rd party while the other had it option 7. as such i back 1 2 3 6 AND 7. yes on 7.

my prior comment missed the other screen where 3rd party was 7.

*****************
there may be much 3rd party yes as in yes on 7 that was missed due to presentation error.

If you fail to plan, you plan to fail

The plan to move forward should be tiered I think.

First of all the goal is to win the nomination through a brokered convention which is very likely since the underestimated support Ron Paul actually has. The problem, is that the convention is still run by the GOP and they have been underhanded up until this point. There is no reason to think the convention may be underhanded as well. Expect some funny business and the nomination get handed over to Mitt Romney because of some last minute rule changes as to how delegates are awarded.

If that happens then I think the campaign should be prepared to go independent 3rd party but for this to work the campaign will need massive funding, so lots and lots of donations. We have to get Ron Paul on the debate floor with Mitt and Barack, and that takes money. We have to get Ron Paul on the ballot too, and that takes more money.

Pastor Steven Andrew of USA Christian Ministries

From Doug Wead Blog - Evangelicals turn to Ron Paul
Yesterday, Pastor Steven Andrew of USA Christian Ministries announced his support of the congressman, calling for a day of prayer and fasting. Andrew released a statement saying that, “After Santorum, Ron Paul is the most God-fearing Presidential candidate [and] the Republican party should endorse him.” Andrew said that “If Republicans don’t give a Christian candidate, Christians should look elsewhere – even to a third party.”

The Christian Wire service ran an article yesterday saying that Christians like the fact that Ron Paul “opposes tyranny, would cut the deficit and is prolife.”

Stephen Andrews needs to call the Communist Democrats out....

Now that he knows about all this, Stephen Andrews needs to start calling the communist democrats out and exposing their face now!!

http://www.commieblaster.com/RINO/index.html

There is still a good portion of COMMUNIST DEMOCRATS in the GOP, and as of this writing....there is well over 100 in the Democratic Party working overtime to smear Dr. Paul.

Spread the word to all the churches!!
Mail bomb Fox News to start reporting Ron Paul.

Key Change Needed

Key change needed: Transition AWAY from money bombs to SUBSCRIPTION based funding. Let me pay $5, 10, 15, etc per week automatically. Stable. Low expense impact. Sustainable and buildable.

Great Idea

Though why not have both. It will suit different people for different reasons. Good idea.

YES!

Keeping both is great.

I would definitely subscribe at the $25/wk. level, and also shake any loose shekels I have at the good Doctor.

I believe Santorum dropping

I believe Santorum dropping out is a huge problem for Ron Paul. Ron Paul has had the "crazy Ron" persona from people against him for his IDEAS since 2008.

The mainstream media will without doubt perpetuate this even farther. Except this time it won't be for his ideas, they will say he truly is "crazy Ron" by continuing to compete in a race that has been over with and decided on already. Regardless of if it is or isn't, its what the mainstream *population* will think.

More so, I understand how hard we've fought the GOP, but seriously what is the true goal? Fix the GOP, or fix the COUNTRY?

Lets assume Dr. Paul does beat Romney for the nomination.. Do you really think the GOP is going to back him? You all have seen the undeniable, cold hard FACTS about voter fraud everywhere, and they do not care because they DO NOT want him.

We WILL NOT back anyone besides Ron Paul, and they will back anyone OTHER than Ron Paul.

In my opinion financial resources and energy (and continued momentum) can have the greatest result if we do this:

1.) Money
2.) More Money
3.) Even More Money
4.) Start working on getting him on the ballot in all 50 states
5.) Run as a third party - independent
6.) Campaign
7.) More Campaigning
8.) Even More Campaigning

Campaign like a candidate has never campaigned before in the history of this country.

People are sick and tired of political labels/gangs so I believe even running as a libertarian is a mistake. The majority of the population doesn't even know what a libertarian is..

Run independent. Everyone understands what an independent is AND it is what Dr. Paul has been doing this entire time. Being INDEPENDENT.

Go after republican votes, libertarian votes, independent votes and DEMOCRAT votes. Go after everyone!

Why not run as both and Independent and a Republican

Or at least fight for the Nomination by not pulling out, and basically running a National campaign now as an independently minded 3rd party figure:

http://www.rp2012.org/3rd_party

Sign this Petition to urge Ron Paul to run third party.

Just my humble opinion

I have always been under the impression Ron was going to go to the end of the national convention and if he did not win the nomination outright he would run third party with over 38% of the votes in the general election he should pull off a win. Since Romney can never beat Obama it makes sense to stay in. The only thing we have to stop is the National Republican Heirarchy from stealing the election just like every state we have battled in. I think right now we need to be putting out Nation wide television adds on the networks including abc cbs and nbc about the crowds He has been getting because the sheeple are not aware of them they still think he is virtually out of the race. Now is the time to attack.

ALL OUT NOW!!

Well, the WagTheDog Media has proclaimed that Mitt has it in the bag.
So, the Mitt supporters can relax now and just stay home during the next lack luster voting events while we put the pedal to the metal and Bomb Bomb Bomb, MONEY Bomb.
I don't care much for handing our cash to the dis-info media machine for ad time but.....
unfortunately the battlefield is to counter the propaganda machine.
Texas is important. Our Man's home state. Let's shut that New England bankers boy OUT of TEXAS.

Unfortunately the Media propaganda machine is there to sell the public that the Diebold machine results meet the REAL consensus of the American voter and therefore the authority of the next POTUS is through a legitimate process.

We have had fantastic turn out numbers. That is what has to be seen in the ad campaign. That is what the media is trying to conceal.

Numbers, numbers, numbers! The only argument to Diebold.

Well Stated

Concurrent to his Republican candidacy, Dr. Paul needs to be organized on another party. This will serve two strategies:

Enormous leverage if he gets to the convention where he hopefully will get a platform.

No-bluff third party run if they exclude him. The back-up plan.

The back-up plan is actually the most probable since the globalists will never give up.

Sign the third party petition at rp2012.org

Right now Ron has plausible

Right now Ron has plausible deniability on a third party run.

He holds over their heads the threat of making such a run and clinching their loss if he is not the nominee and the Liberty agenda is not being promoted to his satisfaction. Yet he can not HIMSELF be accused of party disloyalty, which would cost him votes at the convention. Simultaneously the threat is a serious "game of chicken" which can GAIN him votes, and should not be dropped without some other gain to replace it.

IMHO that's exactly the right balance. Until the Republican candidate is selected he should not be abandoning this position without some profitable (for Liberty) trade. So on one hand he won't pledge not to run third-party. But on the other he can't make overt moves to promote a third party run.

So the threat of the Paul supporters taking their votes elsewhere or leaving them home has to come from OUTSIDE the official campaign. Thus the "Nobody but Paul" movement, without explicit acknowledgement in campaign rhetoric.

Similarly, any preparation for a third-party run would have to be an offer from outside.

For instance, the Libertarian Party, at their convention in May, might (in addition to selecting their own Ron Paul candidates for President and VP) make an official offer: If Ron is not nominated by the Republicans and accepts their offer (within a designated timeframe), their own candidates would step aside and the party would run him and his VP designate as their official candidates. (If they don't do this, another minor party with substantial ballot access might do the same.)

Even if he does NOT eventually accept, the existence of such an offer would put teeth in the implied threat, which might give Ron even more clout in the Republican nomination battle. Also: Such an offer should get around the "sore loser" ballot access laws in a number of states.

(By the way: I'm NOT a Libertarian Party member. So I can't go to the convention and propose this. B-b )

Attack Romney Now, shake the establishment tree !!
Full steam ahead !

Dr.Ron Paul's 2002 Predictions

before 7

Before 7 the Paul campaign has to establish that he did not lose a fair fight and therefore is not a sore loser, but that this thing was hopelessly rigged by fraudulent practices. There is enough ample evidence to back this up, also #7 must happen after the GOP option has totally evaporated. However in conclusion, yes on #7.

#6 would be a waste of money, time and resources and by that point #7 would be the option to put into action.

#5 deal for what exactly? A 15 minute speech at the convention that won't be covered by the press? NO!!!

#4 this is a contradiction.

#3 Yes, but Grinch may have already pulled option #5 himself.

#2 Well duhhh, yeah.

#1 April 15th, we do 2.5 milliom and chrush this, California, here we come baby. All guns blazing to capture CA and TX.

Only #1 - Don't give up!

The departure of Santorum can be both bad and good. God works in mysterious ways.
My suggestions:
1. Believe. Dr. Paul needs to see himself in the White House.
2. Stop voter fraud. I am sure this is a very large part of the problem, but Dr. Paul is so beautifully humble he may think it is a smaller problem. Yesterday I posted a short idea that might help fight Voter fraud and Solution.
3. Work on getting Santorum and Romney's vote in PA as a wake up call. Let us hope the idea of liberty isn't lost there. While you are up there go after some of the other 4/24 small states. Look how well you did in N.H.!
4. Get some more University speeches! Maybe even in N.Y.
5. Get the blue state cross over Dems even more organized.
6. We need more Super Brochures ( especially in the right demograhical locations), even if it means campaign $ help.
7. Now that Santorum is gone, we need to get the evangelical vote. Pray about it! See if you can make connections. I am a smart evangelical. Maybe Rand could help.
8. If you should not win G.O.P., pray if you should run Third Party. God surely has put you in this position for a reason.

1, 2, 3(cautiously), and 6...

Whatever happens at the national convention, we have to keep all this momentum going into the general election so I think 6 is a good idea to have for a backup plan. Last time the Rally for the Republic kickstarted the Campaign for Liberty which laid the foundation for Dr. Paul's current election bid.

As for 7...
I don't like openly talking about a third party bid but I like the GOP to have the possibility of that happening in the back of their minds. Maybe preparing for it in secret will make the establishment percieve it as a real threat of happening even if we realistically don't plan to act on it. It seems to me that the important point here is that it is done so as not to provide a distraction for the media to focus on. That being said, I think running third party would be a mistake.

Always keep them guessing...

April 15 Money Bomb Must SUCCEED or this Thread Does Not Matter!

Ron Paul said tonight in an URGENT E-Mail to all of His Supporters that if the Campaign does not raise $2.5 Million on the April 15th Money Bomb:

HE MAY NOT BE ABLE TO CONTINUE AS IT WILL BE VERY DIFFICULT TO CAMPAIGN EFFECTIVELY

I sure hope everyone on this thread is going to first DONATE this Sunday and next spread the word about the URGENCY of this MONEY BOMB!!!

Advice for Doug is great but Politics 101 is basic: NO MONEY, NO CAMPAIGN.

Ron challenged us all with tonight's e-mail. After giving your Campaign Advice please, please consider spreading some support about April 15th.
