Here's a local news station interview with Ron Paul thank Puma for Life

Not a large crowd, by Ron Paul standards---another Blow-Out in comparison with the small gatherings to greet his opponents. My crew did a rough count and reported: "perhaps 1,500 and in no way past 2,000."

Don't understand: The Alamo is 7 blocks away?

The Paul speech going on today is in a convention center 7 blocks to the west of the Alamo... Why does everyone call it "At" the Alamo? Are they having a post-follow-up event over there?

Watching CSPAN now... Paul is doing very well; mentioned Frothy dropout, but not by name. ;)

Anyone know the numbers/seating capacity here?

Santa Ana+ 1,000~4,000 accomdated near Alamo during 13 day seige

Alamo has comfortable accommodations for over 100 soldiers.

1835. The Mexican Army stationed some 1,000 soldiers near the Alamo. The Texans would have none of it. About 400 Texans re-stationed the Mexican Army back to Mexico. Texans held the Alamo for a year.

1836. Santa Ana, General & President of Mexico was accommodated near the Alamo for his 13 day siege. His 1,400 (some accounts have the campign at over 4,000) man campaign laid siege for 13 days. On the 13th day, they saw fit to actually stay at the Alamo. The price was high.

The Alamo Siege Chronology 13 day account of the Battle of the Alamo.

1836. After scouts confirm the Mexican army's presence, Colonel William B. Travis orders a withdrawal into the Alamo compound.

Texans, some 400 overtook the Mexican army of about 1,100 in 1835.

In 1836, about 189 Texans held off over 1,000 Mexicans. The Mexican Army numbers very wildly on differing accounts... 1,000 to 4,000.

President General Antonio López de Santa Anna

He wasn't exactly at The Alamo, until he got there that is.

Yes, it's a short walk away from the event---and as another user has commented, the event is outdoors, unless I've been misinformed.

Use of the term was my choice, added for color.

Besides, Ron Paul long has been fond of quoting Davy Crockett.

Main plaza is an outdoor square

Main plaza is an open air area downtown. its host to many festivals and events.

I dont think capacity should be an issue

10k plus regularly attend events at main plaza

God Bless Dr. Paul.

Working harder than anyone else for the cause of liberty.

This man is amazing!

"We have allowed our nation to be over-taxed, over-regulated, and overrun by bureaucrats. The founders would be ashamed of us for what we are putting up with."
-Ron Paul

MUST BE DONE TODAY!...for Alamo and future speaking engagements.

At this evening's speaking engagment and all future speaking engagements... either the campaign OR the grassroots needs to spend time at the microphone and at manned tables to recruit voters to become delegates, to vote, recruit voters to join their local GOP, recruit donations to the campaign at www.ronpaul2012.org, join www.rp2012.org for the CONCURRENT presidential run, etc, etc, etc, The campaign OR the grassroots needs to LEVERAGE these large speaking venues of Ron Paul for more specific, strategic activities as stated above... so it's just not another speech, as important as they are. WE MUST harness these events for strategic and tactical purposes for Dr. Paul, the campaign, the future, and the liberty movement. Let's get very, very practical with these events, not just for inspiration, but for strategic and tactical action by each and every individual (if possible) who listens to Ron Paul speak! Good idea? Actionable? If so, and you are able to do this, please communicate with the right people in the campaign and among the grassroots to get this strategy applied at the Alamo this evening and at ALL future Ron Paul speaking engagements!

C’mon boys, let’s take the plunder!

I guess the MO should be to

I guess the MO should be to check and see if the campaign is setting it up when there. If not then it is the grassroots responsibility by default.

On twitter @chonrm I'll be arriving in SA at about 2, also follow @winliberty #ronpaul2012SA

I tweeted a response

It's very difficult for me to keep up with the Twitter feed...I miss most stuff left for me there, like pics, vids, etc.

Probably it's because I've never used it much but I can't see how anyone can know what is there since there is so much in my feed...

Say Hi to Lonnie at the event, he should be there with another named Jeff and Diane.

They'll be very visible, and should arrive approx 4-4:30; they are going to try and get over the The Alamo.

Lonnie is 6'6", white hair, 66 years old.

Keep It Up

Last night was amazing. great turnout, (I'd say around 3k)... Yall get out and pack the house in San Antonio tonight!!!!!!

The Best Man in the house, check out Robert Paul's story about his dad.

When is Ron Paul going to reveal

where the basement of the Alamo is?

I know my bike is in there.

the bike still is there

but someone has removed the ringer...no more bell for you

Ron Paul on Stossel Tonight [Special Edition] (See DP forums)

This program has been promoted at least five time this am...on Fox Business Channel...

I Pray that 10,000 Plus show up for the event!

Come on people in Texas and the other states. In order to win you need to go canvass your neighbors to show up at the polls and also become delegates. We received 30% of the popular vote in MN but gain all the delegates in most counties. I believe we would have won MN but a late stage rally call out to Catholic voters to show up to support Rick Santorum gave him the edge in the popular vote. It will be interesting this coming weekend at the DC conventions to see what happens after him dropping out.

Keep fighting folks every delegate counts!

Ron Paul: 'We have a revolution to fight, a country to change'

The Miami Herald
The Fort Worth Star-Telegram

FORT WORTH -- U.S. Rep. Ron Paul isn't getting out of the presidential race anytime soon.

But the Lake Jackson doctor did say that fellow Republican Rick Santorum's decision to suspend his campaign has led many to ask Paul about his plans.

"There were 12 [GOP candidates] at one time. Now there are three," he told a standing-room-only crowd at the 2,856-seat Will Rogers Auditorium on Wednesday night. "It looks like we are cutting the field down.

"They ask me if I'm going to quit. I thought we were just getting started. We have a revolution to fight, a country to change."

Paul, who trails Mitt Romney and Newt Gingrich, reiterated his themes of limited government, personal liberty and a balanced budget.

He said that troops should come home, that government should be reduced, that the Patriot Act should be repealed, that foreign policy interactions should decrease, and that the middle class needs to stop shrinking and stop becoming poorer. As for the nation's healthcare plan, "the easiest thing is to repeal the whole thing and start all over," he said.

Many in the crowd, who stood throughout Paul's speech, waited for hours to get in. Once inside, they were quick to show their support.

If it were my call...

If it were my call, I would de-emphasize the word "change" - that's the magic word Our Glorious Beloved Infallible Commissar used to win the presidency. I'd really prefer something like "restore the republic" or "we have a country to repair," or "heal" or so.

Freedom is my Worship Word!

The Alamo...

Do most people understand the significance of the Alamo, or is it only a Texas thing?

Ron needs to make reference to "a line in the sand".

Alamo, Texas history shaping the world as we know it.

Drawing a line in the sand 1 minute movie clip from Disney's "Davy Crockett at The Alamo."

Alamo "line in the sand" images.

Or make mention

Of the original "Come and Take It" moment that happened just down I-10 a bit in Gonzales. It was the tipping point in the Texas revolution.
