IMPORTANT! Vote on what the campaign should focus on now. (From Doug Wead)

Ron Paul is a man of the people. He is glad to be part of the liberty movement and proud of what we all have achieved so far. But this is only the beginning. With Santorum out of the race, Ron Paul campaign advisor Doug Wead is now asking the liberty movement for its opinion on what Ron Paul should do now:

LP

many speak of 3rd party or more specifically libertarian party as a fallback position. they may (or may not)be correct.

a better plan i think is to coordinate to accept (provisionally) the Lp nod and the remaining decision if winning the republican nomination is concurrently running on the 2 labels or just republican--given that he won both.

this way --we are clear to GOP---with or without you, Ron Paul is our choice.

"Ron Paul Campaign Asks Supporters: What Now?"

"Okay Ron Paul supporters - here’s what to do: First, read Doug Wead’s post “What Now? Ron Paul’s path to victory” here. Then direct yourself to this page and voice your opinion on how you think the Ron Paul Campaign should go from here (Naysayers take notice: “Drop out” is not an option - we are in this thing until the end). In the post, among other things, Doug Wead reveals a truer delegate count (hint: Ron Paul has more than “they” say he does), and notes how a Campaign needs money to succeed (nudge, nudge: Money Bomb April 15th - be there!).".....

Republicans of also ran candidates should be made to understand

that the road to the White House is through Ron Paul.
They should be made to understand that Romney DOES NOT stand a chance with his flipfloping and the tiggling-in-leg media.

That the reason Romney was promoted was to promote Obama.

So if they are really fed up with Obama and want to see him gone,
if they truly believe that then they should choose commonsense over madness.
They have to decide if its all about screaming for your party to feel good, or about getting this man removed from office.

They need to understand the GOP wont even touch the Birth certificate when it should be the Obama that should be providing the evidence(but doesnt).

The GOP can change the whole game if they bring this up but doesnt.
Why???

Mitt Romney is the fall guy for the Barry Seoretteo.

The choice is CLEAR

"Make an all out effort to win the GOP nomination."

AND

"Become the anti-Romney candidate and launch an all-out attack on Romney."

The two choices are really the same and is what must be done!

Edit: Also, believe it or not, Gingrich COULD become an ally covertly. He has an ego the size of Mount Everest and is more bitter against Romney than against Paul IMO. USE HIS EGO!

In every commercial, T.V. and radio interview, town hall speech and rally he needs to go after BOTH Romney and Obama, and present them to the world as the sell out puppets that they are. Reitterating over and over again THERE IS NO DIFFERENCE.

Just as a matter of curiosity I know someone has posted who Obama's top contributors were (GS, JPM, BA etc etc) I wonder if it could be shown who the top contributors were for previous elections i.e McCain, Bush, Kerry, Gore, Clinton etc etc - I bet there is a common thread and it would only go to show how the two party system is a fraud and how Ron Paul stands out far and above the rest.

6.) Prepare for a Third Party run.
Many Paulites have been calling for this for some time now, and I don't believe it's a good strategy. Many inroads have been made in the GOP in the last four years, and many liberty minded people are being placed in local offices and are becoming precinct chairs. I like holding the threat over their heads of a third party run, since it would ruin the party if he were to do so, but I think the ultimate goal must be to transform the GOP into something resembling a party of liberty, and I don't believe that can be accomplished by a third party run. I firmly believe that Ron Paul is by far the most popular candidate in the GOP, "beauty contest" results notwithstanding, and I further believe that the GOP must either wake up and embrace the wave of change that is in their very midst or render themselves irrelevant. I am feeling quite desperate about our country's chances of surviving another four years of what we've been getting, and Romney is just more of the same. We must populate the Tampa floor and take over the GOP from the ground up. Imagine a Republican party with the passion of the Paul supporters sweeping the nation. Imagine people once again actively WANTING a candidate in office. You saw some of that when Obama was running, but it won't happen again this time. This time his candidacy will be fueled by the same folks that are fueling Romney's . And answer me this: Just how on earth could Romney debate Obama?

Doug, you're absolutely right that we will not have the MSMs cooperation. We must also change the nature of the MSM. CNN's viewership has dropped by half in the past year. Fox's has dropped by 17%. While there may still be too many people reading papers and watching TV for us to prevail, we still have the delegate process as our ace in the hole. As time goes on more and more people will be relying on the internet for their information. Newspapers and TV news is dying as people realize that you can't trust a news source that will lie to you about the news. A Ron Paul victory in Tampa would expose all the lies that we have been told all year. I predict that if Paul were to win the nomination the general would be a landslide of unprecedented proportions, as Obama simply cannot attack Paul in any meaningful way while Obama's record is completely abysmal.

Unleash the Surrogate Speakers

Mr. Wead,

You have media contacts I'll never have, PLEASE use those contacts to get these spokesmen out there - it's time to scrap some of the rules that have been restraining the official campaign - Just do it!

There are 3 key coalition groups in the primary/caucus race in closed voting states.

1. National Security (represented by Veterans For Ron Paul 2012) I've been lining up interviews for Colonel Doug Macgregor(ret). Colonel Macgregor is a decorated combat veteran, the author of four books, a PhD, and a spokesman of the Veterans for Ron Paul 2012. http://www.facebook.com/#!/VetsforRonPaul?sk=info

Adam Kokesh is also a spokesman from the Veterans For Ron Paul 2012, and Adam is planning a bigger march on the RNC this August - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=choTc5sB-7E

Michael Scheuer, former head of the CIA’s Bin Laden unit http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michael_Scheuer and author of Imperial Hubris http://www.amazon.com/Imperial-Hubris-West-Losing-Terror/dp/... has endorsed Ron Paul and is also available for interviews.

2. Bible (represented by Christians For Ron Paul) I've been lining up a few interviews for Pastor Brian Jacobs of the Metroplex Family Church http://metroplexfamilychurch.com/#/something-for-everyone - who used to work with Rev. Billy Graham, It was Pastor Jacobs that introduced Rev. Graham to President George W. Bush during the 2000 election.

Minister Derrick Grayson, is also a spokesman of Christians For Ron Paul http://www.facebook.com/ChristiansForRonPaul?sk=info and has been making hard hitting and entertaining videos in support of Ron Paul. http://www.youtube.com/user/tmotofga/videos

Dr. Walter Block http://www.walterblock.com/ is a founding member of Jews for Ron Paul http://www.facebook.com/#!/groups/jews4ronpaul/ and is also available for interviews.

3. Guns (represented by Gun Owners For Ron Paul) Gary Marbut is the President of the Montana Shooting Sports Association http://www.mtssa.org/ and is also the spokesman of Gun Owners For Ron Paul 2012. Gary has been featured on the Glenn Beck Show and other nationwide media for his work protecting the 2nd Amendment. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nu0J_N2GXXk&feature=youtu.be

Please help me get Colonel Macgregor, Michael Scheuer, Pastor Jacobs and Gary Marbut doing the rounds on Fox News, ABC, CBS, CNN and the big talk radio shows. They are absolutely key to winning over Conservative America to Ron Paul's message. Now is the time.

As you know I've also been promoting the Blue Republican, Robin Koerner, to liberal and independent media.

Please help me get Robin on the Daily Show, Colbert, Thom Hartmann and Rachel Maddow's show!

The official campaign can stay in the GOP race, the grassroots will do what it can to ensure he's on the November ballot regardless of what happens at the RNC - And I'll see you in Tampa at http://www.libertyfestival2012.com/ !

we better be prepared to cough up some money to help RP out in this final stretch before the convention and beyond. WE need to insure that RP gets the BEST security available. We needed this choice to vote for:

HIT ROMNEY HARD ON HIS REAL RECORD AS A FLIP-FLOPPING, BIG- BANKSTER, NEOCON PHONY, AND INVITE HIM TO A ONE-ON-ONE DEBATE ON THE ISSUES THAT REALLY MATTER.

"Truth is an absolute defense to the charge of paranoia."

My post on Doug's facebook:

Thanks for asking our opinions, Doug, an here's mine, for good or ill:
1.) Make an all out effort to go for it.
Absolutely do this. We've come a long way and while it's true that we have a long way to go I and many others have invested plenty in this and our desperation to stop this country's slide is being felt more acutely every day. Ron Paul is our only hope.

2.) Become the anti-Romney candidate and gather his opponents.
Sure, do whatever you can to do this. After all, it should be known to the GOP that Ron Paul supporters are the only ones who are so darn steadfast that they aren't going elsewhere no matter what. Therefore the GOP cannot win without him, and while Romney can get the nomination, only Paul has a chance in the general. Furthermore, only Paul will take the country in a positive direction once elected.

3.) Work with Gingrich to block Romney.
Sure, why not? Gingrich is a great speaker, no matter what else might be thought of him, and he is extremely bitter over Romney's attack ads (justified and truthful though they may have been). If he's still in the race for personal reasons, I believe it's to hurt Romney, and he might be willing to bargain. Of course, one must be careful of his duplicitous nature.

4.) Stay in the race but don’t antagonize the GOP leadership.
HAH! The GOP has done nothing but try everything they can to get Paul out of politics for decades. What more can he do to antagonize them than merely exist? What needs to happen is the GOP leadership needs to be completely replaced. I don't know what you mean by not antagonizing the GOP leadership, but I have a feeling that's just what Paul and his campaign is dong already just by still being in the race, so I wouldn't concern myself with that.

5.) Seek a deal with Romney while it still matters.
I don't know what kind of deal would be helpful with Romney, unless he would be willing to cede the nomination in exchange for a cabinet post. A speaking part at the RNC? Paul has been speaking till he's blue in the face at these people for 30 years and nobody's paying any attention. For Paul to accept some sort of lesser post in exchange for an endorsement would be a slap in the face to his own values and those of us who have passionately worked for him for the past 5 years. We have not done all this in order to look at a Romney candidicacy.

Great initiative from the

Great initiative from the campaign. I'd say leave all the options on the table, except for the ones involving making deals with either Romney or the GOP establishment. They should be talking to Gingrich. The guy's in it to stretch his career a bit, let's humor him. Give him a title and a car so he can use it as an excuse to go on a four year book tour, just for kicks. This brings most of the tea-partyish crowd where it belonged in the first place and forces former-Santorum supporters to make hard choices: Romney or reality.

If Newt doesn't want to deal, ignore him and launch an all out assault on Romney. It has to happen, and happen fast, like yesterday. There has to be a single short ad targeting Romney alone and a supporting longer version online that makes mince meat of his positions and record (no personal attacks). Keeping the main ad short makes it cheaper to carpetbomb stations with. Anything that breaks the 'rommeney is winning' magic goes.

Ron Paul has to invite both Romney and Gingrich to another televised debate. Newt will jump at it, but Mitt will decline and that's the idea... That's something the campaign could coordinate with Gingrich's people maybe? Mitt's staff will do anything to keep him out of it. So just keep extending the invitation and implying he's a coward for not taking it.

It's also time to raise much more awareness of the delegate strategy in the media. We all know their numbers don't make sense, so let's point it out to them, loudly and repeatedly. They'll slam it down in the usual way, just remind them of how their own ratings resemble the titanic in fast forward.

And the message should just focus on the budget for now. Ron Paul is the only candidate left that will cut spending. Romney's plan in vague, has been slammed by experts and doesn't offer a real alternative to Obama's which is vague and has been slammed by experts. Time to bring those numbers out. Even Ben Bernanke wants to see spending cuts at this point.

The results give me hope.

Make an all out effort to win the GOP nomination. (65%, 2,111 Votes)

Prepare for a Third Party/Independent run. (39%, 1,279 Votes)

Become the anti-Romney candidate and launch an all-out attack on Romney. (29%, 936 Votes)

I was happy to see my 3 choices in the top 3 results.

Dr. Paul deserves our trust and we should respect his experience.

Does anyone know

when we find out the delegate count for unbound delegates going to state conventions. When do we know official count of Iowa, Maine, New Hampshire, Dakota, Minnesota, Nevada, Washington, Alaska, Missouri. If these get released then bound delegates for Santorum would be more likely to go toward Paul. I would think those results would help make a decision.

Maine...

...will be known by May 5th..

Out state convention is May 4th and 5th in Augusta.

Over 1000 3rd party votes=

Over 1000 strategic idiots.

We haven't even finished this fucking race and people are pushing to start another, while completely ignoring what the RNC has done to someone that was in their face the whole time.

I won't ask you "What do you think will happen when Dr.Paul goes 3rd party?" because it's obvious you don't know.

It is a completely last ditch effort discussion but in case some are too dumb to see it.. We are far from last ditch necessity at this time.

Why so angry?

Give people a break. Most people wanting Ron to run third party have invested a lot of time and money in the campaign. I agree that running third party should only be an option if he does not get the GOP nomination. It is not blasphemous to say that Ron's chances of securing the GOP nomination are low. It is what it is, we've come a long way but the Republican establishment will do whatever they can to shut him out. Saying this or hoping for a third party run does not make someone a weak Ron Paul supporter. I still donate, campaign, write on websites, etc. just like every other supporter here. I do this because of the man Ron Paul is, and the message that he carries. Unless some of his current supporters get into national politics, I can't say that I'll ever support a politician again. Ron Paul has set the bar so high for many of us. While no man is larger than the message of liberty, I think we can all agree we"ll never have the opportunity to vote for a greater man to lead that message. Yes I think most of us know he won't have any reporters at his rallies, that he'll be banned from the presidential debates, and that no third party candidate is going to win the office anytime soon. Most people wanting a third party run just want to have one last chance to vote for the guy.

Why so sensitive?

If I were to be pissed and I have every right to be with what's at stake and what has been done to this country. I feel that if someone isn't pissed off then they can get pissed on for all I care but I digress.

"It is not blasphemous to say that Ron's chances of securing the GOP nomination are low."

This statement is in fact "blasphemous" because it's wrong. Our chances are improving on a regular basis and the delegate count being what it is, is in fact working. We ARE in second place. So pardon me if I see a lot of misinformed, small minded defeatists who seemingly are willing to make rash moves out of some desperate emotional state or lack of strategic sense.

All of that said.. The only time for a 3rd party.. ESPECIALLY NOW will be when we've exhausted the RNC run. We have too much going on in the RNC as someone else pointed out, to even bother with 3rd party now.

Hoping Ron Paul does whatever

Hoping Ron Paul does whatever possible to stay in the presidential race for as long as possible is not being a defeatist. I also would imagine that every Ron Paul supporter is disgusted and "pissed" with where this country is at, if not why would any of us support him? Ron Paul is second in delegates? That's great, I wish he was first. My point is I'm not going to be naive about the situation. Ron could be first in delegates by a landslide and I still wouldn't feel great about his chances at the GOP nomination. That's how disgusting and corrupt I think the two parties are. We're all on the same team here and we all want the same outcome.

"The only time a 3rd party ... is when we exhausted the RNC run"

The problem is... is that it doesn't give that option as a selection... so many selected that option as the only way to let the campaign know that a 3rd party run is a desirable option.

Maybe if they would have made that an option, to run 3rd party after exhausting the RNC run, it would have been voted most popular

And maybe they intentionally left that option out so they wouldn't need to consider it and just say that going 3rd party wasn't the most popular option as per RP supporters

GOP Convention PROTEST

I would like to see EVERY SINGLE Ron Paul delegate and everyone with a brain in their head go nuts at this BS convention. I mean seriously... Mitt Romney? Do they think we are that naive? "Repeal and Replace Obamacare"? We might as well send them a match book for the Constitution.

Seriously. Scream, storm out, play the dirty tricks, stage a sit in, throw outrageous parties...whatever. But make a statement and do anything you can to win. Eff the GOP.

We need the chance to at least make the argument with some "establishment credibility"... and this is as good a time as any.
