[NY] State starting to sell prison superintendent digs. Mansion.

ALBANY -- The stately brick house once occupied by the superintendent of New York's oldest prison will soon go on the block.

With eight bedrooms, six baths, an attached gazebo and a detached barn-size garage, the three-story house affiliated with Auburn Correctional Facility is appraised at $366,500. One of nearly a dozen now-vacant state-owned homes for prison wardens, it will be the first up for sale, with others expected to follow.

The Auburn house has extra curb appeal, standing four blocks away from its [Auburn] maximum-security prison, whereas some others have an immediate view of high walls, barred windows and razor wire.

"It was always well kept. It was actually kind of neat when you were a youngster seeing correctional facility employees, basically inmates, manicuring the lawn or shoveling snow," Mayor Michael Quill said Wednesday. "They never bothered us, but we were scared to death because they were inmates." ...

Five superintendents' residences are occupied by superintendents at biweekly rental rates ranging from $326.38 at Mohawk prison to $593.20 at Fishkill. Five others are rented by other prison staff. One serves as a day care center and another is a business office.

Thank you!!

Sorry, wrong place.

Barton Hall

My first rock concert was the band Boston when they played Barton Hall in '78. They had recently released their second album (yup, album) and they played every cut from both records just about note perfect.

I'm way south of Cornell now, but still have family alumni connections and a Father-in-law very close by who probably won't go despite our telling him he shouldn't miss the chance to see that many awake people in one place.

Can an organizer or someone

Can an organizer or someone please print out flyers pointing out that Paul doesn't get his money from JP Morgan and Goldman Sachs but individual donors like them. If they have a flyer with the website to donate, maybe we can bump up the money bomb. Also, maybe someone can set out a pennies for Paul money jar(s)? Everyone has some spare change (just about)!

Event Rules

I just received an email from the campaign with rules and more info on the event tonight. People will be removed if caught throwing objects. Looks like the university has been informed of the possible DREAM TEAM protestors.

"

Distribute Sherry's blog at Cornell Rally

It may be too late or short notice but perhaps some enterprising person can print off a thousand or two copies of her blog and pass them out at the Cornell U event tonight.
If there are protests... pass them out to the protesters. Once they read her blog they will likely stop and come listen to Paul!

Let's get the crowd to do the wave for Ron Paul

What other presidential candidate can draw crowds big enough to do the wave. We should totally do it, that would be awesome.....hopefully the crowd is big enough

That would be awesome! I

That would be awesome! I hope you guys can do it!

RONVOY

Capital District NY for Ron Paul 2012 has organized a RONVOY from SUNY Albany to Ithaca, so to see the good Doctor. I'll be on that bus!

My home state!

I am from Buffalo and several of my friends will be driving down to hear Paul speak. Can't wait to get the reaction, it's a phenomenal experience.

They that give up liberty for security deserve neither.

Paul opposition identified?

Looks like the students from the DREAM act will be out in force to protest the event. Maybe we should get some people to contact them and educate them on the good Doctor.

Here is a direct quote from one of their members. "Personally, I feel it is my responsibility to legally protest a documented racist politician that is against birth-right citizenship, welfare and the DREAM Act."

There seem to be people who still cling to that racist card with Ron Paul. I think we need to educate them, because ignorance is no excuse for idiocy.

Here's your chance to change

Here's your chance to change the mind of some more potential Paul supporters. Having been to one of his rally's and several meetups, there's a wonderful vibe that happens amongst a diverse group of people who realize they were given individual freedom by their creator. There's not much of an opportunity of various special interest groups bickering amongst each other.

Rich elitist kids

Want to decide who gets to sit next to them in class\

Well if there was a protest

Well if there was a protest against Dr Paul the MSM may actually report about one of his events.

I'm not too sure it would be

I'm not too sure it would be the type of coverage we need though. That's all we need is some idiot protester throwing something and hitting a RP supporter in the back of the head on purpose or accident leading to that protester getting into a physical scuffle with RP supporters. You know the Lame Stream Media hacks would use it to spin the story into their typical negative Ron Paul talking points and say how Rowdy and crazy we are putting the blame on us.

Newspapers are filled with news the subjects ain't got use for.

There is no suffering comparable with that which a private person feels when he is for the first time pilloried in print.

Won't be an issue unless........

I respect anyone's right/choice to protest things they do not believe in or support. However, if the members of this DREAM Team decide to throw things from the crowd, no matter what the object is, I sure hope they have staff present to deal with these people as that is not a form of peaceful and respectful protesting. If they do throw things, and the school fails to do something about it, it just might turn into something bigger than it should. Hopefully all Ron Paul supporters keep their cool and don't lash out to make it even worse. These protesters probably have no idea on how out numbered they will be when it comes down to being vocal. Let them BOO, I would love to see the reaction of the crowd ;-)

Another thought

The great part about this country is our freedom to protest. So welcome protesters! May want to point out that if Paul had accepted tax payer security (secret service?), there's a possiblity their protest would be considered a felony under current law.

Yeah I have a feeling they

Yeah I have a feeling they will be vastly out numbered. I know they said they had no intention of throwing anything at the stage, but they said something about throwing pillows...which would be hilarious, but also not good for them or the crowd.

Keep getting more to come

right now I am up to 9 people. Most of us work, and will come from Poughkeepsie/Fishkill area so it is a 4 hr drive. All worth it, it is an honor to see in person the man that inspired a revolutionary movement.

Good for you! Waking up the

Good for you! Waking up the sheeple 9 at a time! Enjoy!

YFRP organizers

Please find some way to get the phone app for secure donations to the campaign. Put that app on as many phones as possible, or bring computers or find some way to take donations. Put up a bunch of tables spaced out through the venue, and on the way in or out, please get donations!!! I don't know if you could have a cash jar even and total the $$ and send in through Youth for Ron Paul. Maybe create a flyer that talks about how Goldman and JP Morgan contribute to Obama and Romney, but Paul depends on donations from people like us, and include the website.

I'll be there

But before that I'll be hanging out with the good doctor at the Lunch with Ron Paul in Ithaca event!

PRINTED

I've already printed my ticket for seating. Myself and 4 others are coming from 3 and a half hours away just to hear the message of liberty come out of Ron's mouth personally! Stoked! See you all there...
