Ron Paul only candidate able to defeat Obama in new Rasmussen poll

"2012 Republican Presidential candidate Ron Paul again polls better against President Barack Obama in a head-to-head matchup than establishment-choice moderate Mitt Romney, according to a poll released today from Rasmussen.

The poll notes that in a general election matchup, the 12-term Congressman from Texas edges out Obama by 1 percentage point, 44 to 43 percent. The survey also notes that in a hypothetical 2012 head-to-head, Obama and Romney are tied at 45 percent, which bodes poorly for Republicans being urged to believe the race is over, only to later experience buyer’s remorse.

The poll also finds that this far into Obama’s first term, 40 percent of voters respond that they “strongly disapprove” and 27 percent “strongly approve” of his performance. With a Presidential Approval Index of -13 points, it is noteworthy that some Republicans are seemingly settling on a candidate no more popular than the President, suggesting an establishment liberal Democrat is no more popular than a establishment liberal Republican. The Rasmussen poll may be prescient in showing a general election scenario of confusion among voters over which candidate has the least liberal record."

and all Repbublican voters must now face the facts, and start voting for the only candidate who has a chance of beating the incumbent. Otherwise, why do we all need to get in line behind Romney?

Hasn't that been their story all along? If not, when did they start voting 'on principle'?

Bottom line, this needs to be on National Boob Tube.

see if conservative media

see if conservative media will promote this

define "conservative

define "conservative media"...

i'm afraid that if you expect a difference of coverage between "conservative" and "liberal" media, you will be sorely disappointed.

That should be the main attack point for now while showing the masses out for RP and his consistency.

Great news.

Nice to see the polls reflecting what many of us have understood for a while now:

There is only one man in this race who can actually beat Obama.

It's common sense:

1. Die hard Paul supporters are growing in number literally every day...and once hooked, will vote nowhere else.

2. Santorum supporters will vote for Paul because of his faith.

3. Conservatives now understand that Paul is the only true classical conservative in the race, and will grudgingly support him.

4. 2008--but many now disillusioned--Obama voters would begrudgingly vote for Obama again--as the lesser evil--before they would even entertain voting for Romney

(Folks, these are the ones we have to work on the most!! )

5. Previous Obama voters who voted for peace and a change in foreign policy, on that betrayal, many will not vote for him again.

6. Previous Obama voters who voted for transparency in government, ending special interests, and the drug war, on THOSE betrayals, many will not vote for him again.

7. People in 2012, especially the younger crowd, will NOT be betrayed again and SO, they look to someone with a PROVEN track record of honesty, consistency (even if they do not agree with what he is consistent about), and they look for a rock solid, incorruptible, immutable sense of INTEGRITY. Sound like somebody you know?? :-)

Dr. Paul is going to surprise the history books, folks.

We are going to win this. It ain't gonna be easy...but we are going to win.

Time to INVESTIGATE the investigators of 9/11. PROSECUTE the prosecutors. EXPOSE the cover-up.

Ron Paul must unseat Obama, once and for all....

Obama is exposing how the despotic agenda will soon render him a dictator & is exhibiting all the signs of a neoliberal control tyrant.

Another milestone!

This makes Ron the only candidate other than Romney to lead Obama TWICE in a Rasmussen poll. He led previously in February. Gingrich, Santorum, Perry, Bachmann, Cain, Trump, Daniels, Pawlenty, etc all either never led Obama or led only once in an outlier poll.

That is a GREAT...

Thank you for pointing that out.

Statistically, very telling, and very promising.
