A Rick Santorum supporter visits a Ron Paul Rally
Submitted by RustyTX on Sat, 04/14/2012 - 20:12Here is a Facebook commentary from Adrian Murry, a Rick Santorum supporter and Ft. Worth tea party leader, who recently attended a Ron Paul event in Ft. Worth, TX:
...I have spoken before a lot of groups in the last several years as we have all grappled with the seeming dissolution of our country. I have half-jokingly said on many of these occasions that the other side doesn’t really have to defeat us politically, they just have to wait for us all to die off so they can implement their plans. My point has been that the greatest issue facing the conservative cause is a demographical one, a lack of diversity that will shortly render the conservative message irrelevant. Where are the youth? I and others have asked. Where are the people of color? Why doesn’t the conservative message resonate?
The answer to where they are could be found last night at the Will Rogers Auditorium. Often at political events there is a sense of excitement, anticipation, a certain buzz in the audience while waiting for the main event. Excitement, anticipation and buzz are weak and inadequate words to describe the pre-rally crowd last night. Energy is even inadequate. What undulated through the thousands who thronged outside before the doors opened last night was a kinetic power, the power of hope, the power of liberation, the power of anger at a system turned upside down, the power of liberation and, yes, the ultimate and emancipating power of freedom. You had to be there to understand it.
Once inside, for the only time in my politically active life, I was transported to a world I had not seen before. There was enough energy in that room to power a skyscraper. Teenagers, college students, whites, Hispanics, African Americans, Asians, middle-aged, elderly, every racial, ethnic, socio-economic, cross cultural ingredient of the American melting pot was there. The auditorium was a cauldron of American citizens who understand and have grasped the true nature of the tyranny which has befallen this nation, a conflagration, if you will, of passion and anger and joy and determination. This is where the fire starts this time. The eruption when Mr. Paul took the stage was deafening...
...
What exactly is our national security securing? Certainly not our liberty. We have been sacrificing ever larger chucks of our liberty to the gods of security for decades now and in the interests of securing our liberty have given it all away. Go to an airport if you want to witness the loss of liberty in all its glorious humiliation. One wonders if we actually were taken over by another power and our Constitution dismantled what exactly could they do to restrict our movements, monitor our activities and control our actions that would be any worse or oppressive than what our own government is doing right now?
This part of Mr. Paul’s message, if I have interpreted it correctly, is what resonates with me. All the other things pale in contrast to our becoming a nation of slaves.
...
So what did I come away with last night? It can be captured in one picture. Before Mr. Paul was introduced, part of his family took the stage: his wife, one of his sons, a smattering of cousins, nieces and nephews. That picture tells us all we need to know. They are us. They weren’t pulled from central casting, exquisitely coifed and finely tailored, prepped and ready for the cameras. No. They are a family. They are us....
...
America is on the brink of flatlining.
Which logically only leads to one question:
Is there a doctor in the house?
Which logically only leads to one answer:
Ron Paul 2012

Paradigm Shift
If he does not get the nomination the third party option is the only choice. He is the only candidate who will make real change.
Today’s challenges bring to mind JFK’s prophetic words of truth in his attempts to End The Fed, stop the war in SE Asia and battle organized crime;
“A revolution is coming – a revolution which will be peaceful if we are wise enough, compassionate if we care enough, successful if we are fortunate enough – but a revolution is coming whether we will it or not. We can affect its character, we cannot alter its inevitability.” – JFK
It is really very simple; those who stand for nothing will fall for anything.
“This is not a question of party loyalty, but a great fundamental principle of freedom, justice and humanity, a tenet of truth, law and legal right which is sought to be tampered with, and down-trod.” – Colonel Charles V. DeLand, February 8, 1854 – A Principle founder of the then 'new' Republican Party (the last time a new outlook replaced a major party).

The Ron Paul Experience
I read this post a little while back and found it to be pretty inspiring. The guy hasn't posted anything new, but I think this one post is worth the blog. Talks a little about Ron Paul and how these past few months have been with the rallies and ignorance from big media.
http://shouldyoulisten.blogspot.com/2012/03/whats-deal-with-...
Good stuff but i don't believe for a second that he was/is
a Santorum supporter.
I agree.
Too much knowledge in the comments and one that informed doesn't vote for any of the others.
Got teary just reading that!
"Once inside, for the only time in my politically active life, I was transported to a world I had not seen before."
You mean "to a world" where TRUTH reign supreme?
YES!!! Yes my friend, you finally got to witness in person what those of us who have been trying to shake loose within the American Consciousness for the last 4~5yrs!!!
Welcome, to the R3VOLution!!!
Thank you to ALL who made the fmr. Santorum supporters feel welcomed!
Bless you all.
Finally, some glimmer of hope, amongst others...

"Let it not be said that no one cared, that no one objected once it's realized that our liberties and wealth are in jeopardy." - Dr. Ronald Ernest Paul
I was there, too :) It was a great performance!
There is a video on the front of DailyPaul where Dr. Paul says he was personally energized by the turnout in California & Texas. His performances were in that order, and I could tell. I've watched footage here of previous speeches elsewhere, and he's gotten better.
(Being a better messenger, not that he's not a good one, is a personal goal he set for himself. So, we see him using his freedom to pursue the virtue of self-improvement, just as he wants us all to be able to do!)
I also noticed the enthusiasm and the eclectic mix of supporters. Howard Dean sure wouldn't pop-off that it was a whitebread crowd waiting for ethnic help (a crass statement, anyway, but it wouldn't even fit here). I still saw mostly white people, but like she said - young, old, families. There was definitely diversity. Oh, and by "young" I don't mean the "Youth for Ron Paul", I mean those whose first votes might be for Rand or Linda Paul, should they decide to run, as they have over a decade to go before they get the vote. You know, those with short attention spans who would have started crying 5 minutes into a Romney speech! (..."Mommy, I'm bored, make the man stop singing badly!")
I think Rick Santorum detected, and appealed to, the contingent in our party who needs very much to identify with the candidate. I think we see that in this commentary when she mentions - sort of like a Christine O'Donnell ad ("I'm not a witch...I'm you!") - that his family is "us". Paul has always been authentic, he just doesn't grandstand. Santorum went out of his way to brandish a "working class crusader" image, but who is more able to connect: A lawyer peddling influence on K-Street, or a country doctor who delivered 4,000 babies? Dr. Paul just doesn't play that up - and personally, it's something I like about him. He doesn't play his faith up (I share it), or his humble roots (directions to my house included "turn off the paved road") - he just goes out and does the best he can.
Now that Santorum is out, some of those hungry for authenticity will get a wiff of what the media hasn't been sharing: the quieter but truer version.
Another one....
The bright spot of our county convention yesterday was me sitting in a meeting next to a delegate who was for Santorum. Said he had been watching Ron Paul videos after Santorum dropped out, and liked what he heard.
About 4 of us RP guys worked him over pretty good, and by the night's end, he was all for Ron Paul, and was voting for RP delegates.
Of course, we also shared an interest in chickens and cows and beekeeping and gardening and such. We exchanged ideas and phone numbers.
I've noticed those prone to accept Ron Paul have a higher interest in self-sufficiency and the more independent lifestyle.
To all of you who said Santorum staying in helps us...
What if Santorum had dropped out SOONER? Remember Paul taking 40%, and even a congressional district, in Virginia?
Paul tends to build on previous results. Imagine if that 40% had been, say, 40% in New Hampshire. By the time he got to VA, maybe 46%. By the time he got to Texas??? :)
Great news.... I was with a
Great news.... I was with a group at a farmer's market today and we came across this couple who were very religious and loved Santorum. They said they now support Ron Paul, because Santorum is out. I asked if they had heard about the evangelical leaders enforcing Paul, and they said that they had and people are talking about converting to Paul. They even took a Ron Paul Revolution bumper sticker!
Yup.....
You do not really get the feel of what is truly going on in the nation until you visit a Ron Paul rally/event. When people realize it is not "us vs. them" but "we are all connected" and what affects one affects all, then the true message of liberty can be fully grasped. We haven't even scratched the surface of human potential and innovation yet. Great things are to come if we quit violating the natural rights of the individual.

This is one of the best descriptions of a Ron Paul rally I have
ever read. Looks like he's been cured by the doctor, too. I hope Adran Murray will join us here at the DP.

This is awesome. Definitely,
This is awesome. Definitely, the best thing I've read all week!
Brilliant! ABSOLUTELY
Brilliant! ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT!
WARNING: This post is now
WARNING: This post is now widely circulating in Santorum supporters' facebook pages.
Be nice. Let's remember that we were not always Ron Paul supporters, we were on the wrong side once. The best thing about having been to both sides is, you can judge fairly which one is right.
That's my case: Ex-democrat
That's my case: Ex-democrat converted to Republican thanks to Dr. Paul who showed me I was wrong and opened my mind to see the truth. We must take into account that there are people on the other campaings who desire the best for this country but from another point of view. It's our duty to show them our message is more appealing and includes theirs too. Our house is big. :-)
I fully support...
I fully support fake Christian, Santorum supporters to become Ron Paul supporters.
Don't insult those you court
If you insult a group of people, you will not win them over.
In matters of style, swim with the current; in matters of principle, stand like a rock.

Another Reason to Emulate Ron Paul
Please, think twice before you call other candidates' supporters childish, derogatory names. Ron Paul wouldn't do that so you might want to take a page from his play book and take the high road.
Thanks for sharing - Very Encouraging to hear how
the Liberty message illuminates!
With all due respect, I will no longer be a voting prostitute for Constitution rejecting harlots. Responsible Gun ownership>> http://www.dailypaul.com/267885/no-guns-for-negroes-excellen......
Santorum Christian backers
think they are righteous in their attitude against Iran, because they believe Iran is so evil for being against Israel. Most people don't know the real truth of the matter. Iran hates Israel because it looks like the little Satan of the middle east to them, because Israel is closely allied with the USA.
Iran hates America because of what we did to them in 1953! Iran only being a free elected government for two years, was facing a coup started by the CIA. The CIA hired 5,000 Iranians to demonstrate in the streets, which caused an overthrow of the Government. The Shah of Iran was reinstated and the British continue to get their cheap oil. Iran was only asking to be treated fairly like the Saudi's wanting 35% of oil profits. It was called Operation Ajax see video below:

This started the hostage crisis of 1979, I remember it well, was because of 1953.

We have done this over dozens of times in south America and any country that dares to stand up for freedom and liberty. The US government wants dictators in control so we can have cheap food and oil. See video on confessions of an economic hit-man below.

Unless America faces up to their past transgressions we will always be facing some type of terrorist threat. To the world we are the Big Satan.
Every Christian needs to realize their nice life in this Country is on the backs of the peasants worldwide. I wonder how Jesus will feel about this during the big judgement.
I mentioned this to my Christian sister just yesterday. She replies that she will vote for who ever can beat Obummer.
You can not vote for the lesser of two evils, you must break free of tyranny completely no exceptions.
I told her I will write Paul's name in if I have too.
Gold standard: because man can not be trusted to control his greed
They were duped and brainwashed..
Its happened across the board.
Thirty pieces of silver here or there - is that enough for you to sell out?
They didn't know any of the truth as their leaders were never told to tell the truth.
Bring them to Ron Paul and watch the blind see.
As we all at one time
lets hope they awake to the truth, in that we are more than just winning the White house but changing the way government operates.
The GOP is afraid if we win the GOP will no longer be their rich boy club it is now.
Gold standard: because man can not be trusted to control his greed
Ron Paul is an Obstetrician who delivered over 4000 babies
He graduated from medical school and should be referred to as Doctor Paul.

Obnoxious anti-Paul Troll on Doug Wead blog
There is the most vulgar and vicious anti-Paul Troll on this site:
His user name is TEX2
I've taken him to task. This guy seems to have more time than most people to attack Ron Paul. I highly suspect he is a paid troll financed to attack and undermind Ron Paul and his supporters.
If you can, please help in countering him. I warn you he is most vicious and likes to attack people personally, besides Ron Paul.
Doug Wead Deserves Credit
For letting just about anyone who wants to comment at his blog say what they want to say, but, yeah TEX2 is useless. I ignore him.
I have noticed him too and recommend...
...that you don't feed the troll! No matter what you say, or how compelling your arguement, this guy he will ALWAYS counter negatively. So, starve him to death by shunning him.
If my need to be RIGHT is greater then my desire for TRUTH, then I will not recognize it when it arrives ~ Libertybelle
Good advice: Do Not Feed the troll!
He lives off of that, so no matter how hard it is, skip it and move on.
Debbie
Fought Him
I fought him for days..and gave him my final bash and then totally ignored him. Finally I came to the Daily Paul and someone under Activism had a posting about him. I posted and asked for help. Someone he has finally been silenced I believe. Thank God...he was one of the most vicious I have had to counter. Nasty beyond belief. I have a gut feeling about him...I think he's a paid one...and I suspect he has ties to Stratfor and I could go on from there...and other opinions I have of him. His style is recognizable to me.
troll
I have seen hm, too! Thing is, it brings out the best responses, I have seen to date, about Dr Paul's platform! In a way, he is being very helpful! LOL
