I just read it. Of course, your presumptions reflect the most optimistic scenario. With the superdelegates, that would put him within 20 delegates of 1144. However, even if he had 200-300 more than that, I would STILL assume AT LEAST 300 abstentions out of Romney's bound delegates, depriving him of the nomination anyway. This big question at that point is if Romney can buy the Santorum and Gingrich delegates for the win on the 2nd or even the 1st vote. A very real possibility. Of course, that would be suicide for a 2012 GOP general. Only Paul can beat Obama soundly.
