stossel started on the fed just about couple weeks ago

that's how young along in the process he is. he has never discussed macro economics or finance before, nor monetary policies, and hence one can assume he has never read/followed it. this means he is two weeks educated on the subject. in contrast, the conspiracist paranoias have been at it for decades, and they still needed ron paul to get 1% of what they espoused steered in the right direction.

this is ridiculous

one more crazy show to confuse already confused americans

NO you can't endlessly print gold back money. You dufus Stossel!

I saw red flags.

The guest made it sound like the federal reserve is NOT private? Ugh. Did Stossel blow it on purpose or was he having a bad day? That should have been clarified for the less informed viewer. I'll watch it again to make sure I heard what I thought I heard.

EDIT: Double ugh. Stossel himself sounds like he is batting for the other team. Am I totally misinterpreting this?

that is the well planned propaganda line

The "fed" is not private. It is part of the US government. They return 96% of alllll their profits back to the treasury every year.

yep. nothin to see folks move along

private competing currencies makes just as much sense as gold backed currencies and both can hyperinflate if the government prints too much of them

yep. nothin to see folk move alon

The Fed is a PRIV ATE Entity

'Returning' :) 96% of their 'profits' is a red herring. You need to count all the LOSSES and OVERHEAD to see that they are not only charging the hell out of us to print, loan, and lose OUR money, they then charge 4% on top of that. Sounds like a great deal!

The Fed is part Government part Private (definition = Fascist). The shareholders profit, but when losses occur, they Profit because they loan the Government money that the TAX Payers cover.

Oddly enough a Federal Reserve Note printed today is worth 4 Cents (that's 4%) in 1913 dollars.

Yep, nothin to see here folks, just the Central Planners and their Myrmidons :) Ignorance is bliss.

He's got too much ABC in him...

I like Stossel, and I would never turn away a supporter, but he's way too trite for my taste. Maybe guys like him will be the one to take this message mainstream, but I think there is a good reason Freedom Watch was cancelled while this stays on the air.

What is he speaking....cashless anything....

.....Is all a huge scam.

Is he suggesting the Federal Reserve isn't private?
Someone better get in there and correct this fraud on air, or else it will lead a great many to a fraudulent currency....

No lie. This is deception snake oil at its best.....*Our only option* for nearly everyone, is restore gold/silver everywhere. Keep getting it passed in your local states.

Stossel

John Stossel should run for president, I'd vote for him in an instant. I love Ron Paul, but am still befuddled at how the American people as a whole haven't taken to him yet. It amazes me that so many who agree with him on most issues, are still voting for someone else. I just shake my head in the work place I'm at, that most seem to still back Obama. I'm stunned these days...We must surely be in the last days of this country, possibly the world.

OMG!

Stossel's a tard. And you want him to be President!

As cool as Ron Paul is, he cannot turn this country around on his own. It will take all of us, here on Daily Paul and around the country. This race is not about who becomes President. It is about lighting the fire of Liberty in the minds of our countrymen. It is a free market place of ideas. It is about educating our fellow American's to the truth. It is about holding the line against tyranny.

If electing a politician was the answer to the problem, we wouldn't be in this mess. We Americans have been electing politicians, and putting our faith in them, for over 200 years. And look where it has gotten us.

I love that David brought up

I love that David brought up Bitcoin.

Bitcoins for Ron Paul

Actually, Bitcoins would make it really easy for non-US supporters to donate to REV PACS, and to buy Super Brochures for mailing... and the best thing about Bitcoins is that they don't care about the competing currency laws! :)

I wish more people here in DP would learn about BTC!

I know I am doing my share, and I am CONVINCED that Bitcoins are a HUGE STEP in the right direction.

Just plain 'Happy'about the direction the world is taking! Especially if we live to reach LEV [Longevity Escape Velocity]

I always rooted for Stossel

He seemed to want to come clean over at ABC. Now that he is at FOX, I understand him but I tend to distrust him and not listen.. (this goes for any "Media Figure-head"). Maybe he plants a seed but let us hope it is the good one. Non-GMO, anyone?

Enjoy life and all wonders within. Wars on Drugs before declaration. Poor but freedom was near. Comedies of the man who used to toss joints to the crowd like it was legal. Let's play Paperball for Ron Paul: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ydp2qMyVkbo

Stossel may have just sealed his doom with this one...

I don't think the shadowy ones who pull the strings and print the money to finance FOX's payroll are going to take too kindly to this exposé... Watch your back, John!

So, who do you think the Ex

So, who do you think the Ex Federal Reserve guy was referring to when he mentioned some people would like us to return to the gold standard? Possibly, Ron Paul. We wouldn't be in the mess that we are in, the Federal Reserve didn't have such a major role in it.

Anyone else find

John Stossel annoying?

So he is saying the Fed is

So he is saying the Fed is not private?

Mr. President, it is natural to man to indulge in the illusions of hope. We are apt to shut our eyes against a painful truth, and listen to the song of that siren till she transforms us into beasts.
-Patrick Henry

Fed not private?

Yeah, that didn't make much sense. Also, in a true free market, the President would not be setting the gold price, would he?

Interesting.

Thanks for posting.

Two shorten the road.

Stossel is the man!

Stossel is the man!

Gold and Silver!!!

Time to pass competing currencies every area possible....get on board and pass it while the time is left.

What do mean, "pass competing currencies"?

America HAS a bi-monetary system. Federal Reserve Notes and gold and silver coin. In fact, Ron Paul, wrote the bill that established the Coinage Act of 1985. It created a new standard for specie coin. The Gold American Eagle (available in 1 oz, 1/2 oz, 1/4 oz, and 1/10 oz) and the Silver American Eagle (1 oz). The Act was passed while Dr. Paul was out for term limits.

In America, we have competing currencies NOW! And the best thing is they are legal to use as money, because they are legal tender. And the market, not some all knowing bureaucracy, sets the exchange rate between the two.
