Ladies and Gentlemen who are discouraged at our progress....A thought to ponder
For those naysayers on here or those who will not be satisfied unless we have total victory, I submit we have already won.
Consider these facts.
1) Ron Paul in Jan 2007 was an obscure congressman whos lonely vigils in congress received no headlines and were known to <0.5% of the population. I am priviledged to say I've followed the man since 1988 and never in my wildest dreams would I ever think Ron Paul would be drawing anything over 10% in any primary or caucus. Ron Paul today is drawing broadbased support, though not drawing above 20% yet, is gaining support daily. It may or may not be enough to win the primary but it doesn't really matter for the reasons below.
2) In Jan 2007 few if anyone understood the sinister problem with our monetary system. Few Americans understood this has been a silent tax, particularly during wartime, to finance just about every government project particularly foreign empires my comrades and I are sent to defend. Today countless American's have been exposed to these "radical" ideas, ideas held sacred by our founding fathers. They see Ron Paul talk about how the founders did things, such as giving congress ONLY the right to COIN money and to make war. These monumentally important ideas have now been exposed to millions of Americans again, though many may scoff today, when gas hits $5.00 a gallon they may reconsider these "radical" ideas. I can't iterate how important this has been. I studied these ideas in college in the early 1990s and it seemed as if the few of us were islands in the ocean of DemoRepublicSocialism.
Today, surrounded both here and across the land, this definitely is not true. I recently transferred from Wa state to CT and on my way across the country I saw Ron Paul signs in Or, Id, Nv, Az, many in Tx, bumper stickers in La and Al, Road signs in Ga. I left the interstate in SC to see for myself the support there, its EVERYWHERE in SC, I continued to see these signs all the way up the east coast (exception was DC, imagine that). You have brothers and sisters everywhere.
3) We have raised enough money already to keep Ron Paul in the race, making commercials, educating the public, making speeches and spreading this hugely important message. Ron Paul may win the Presidency or he may fade into background. But these ideas will forever be burned into American's minds. In fact I think Ron Paul is uniquely qualified with impecable integrity and an educational manner to educate America. He has the flaw of not being all that charismatic, but its more important that he educate at this point anyway. All of us who study the Fed and the inevitable wars and spending it spawns, know eventually this system must end. If it does as badly as we think it might there will be several types ready to pick up the pieces, radical fascists and socialists and those who have studied the constitution and been exposed to Dr Paul's ideas. We will then have a chance to recover the right way, with the constitution and with freedom instead of fascism or socialism.
4) I could ramble all night but you guys will delete me, so Ill end with this. Stop the bickering, stop being discouraged, do everything you can to spread the message. For those who can and are able learn this political process and RUN FOR OFFICE. The message will become increasingly popular. Dr Paul never could have done this by himself anyway. Know this, every person you convert and everyone we spread the message to, every dollar raised and spent to educate the public is a victory. Will it be in time to win this election, maybe so (Im praying) or maybe not. But know this I dont feel like im an island in an ocean anymore, I feel more like an island amongst a bunch of volcanic islands that keep popping up more and more each day and as long you dont let the Revolution fade to black every day is a victory. I also have hope for the first time we may not degrade into something like Imperial Rome before their fall, so keep charging and keep converting, eventually we will reach critical mass.

Add to that, if Ron plays the independent card in the end, we could be the group that provides a viable third party candidate in future elections riven Ron can get a substantial turn out as an independent.
Even if we can't win this, which we can, we will still be able to change the course of this country for future generations.

Agreed sir! I would also add my comment that for those of us with children who are still in grade school--those of us in that boat who have "woken up" to the deceit around us--we must educate our children on these issues and their importance!
If we do not win this election, I'm quite confident that the revolution will continue--and it will be a long drawn-out battle with dark times to come. The key asset in this long fight will be knowledge we give to our children.
My parents 'taught me well' but I never remember learning about the importance of the constitution, learning what the Federal Reserve is, CFR, and the other treacherous threats to our freedom.
My kids will. And, God willing, they will continue the fight.

Im currently under contract for the Navy for 4 more years, so I cant resign my commision until then. Im an engineer and currently serving my country as best I can with the submarine community. This campaign has given me the thought of one day heading to congress to be the next Dr. No, but the Uniform Code of Military Justice prohibits me from running for office or supporting a candidate while actually dressed in my uniform. But I will certainly help support those who carry this message, and there is alot of sentiment in the military for people who will actually follow their oath of office. I know I take mine very seriously.

Thank you so much for writing how I feel. I cannot express my gratitude to actually watch a freedom movement sprout out and capture a significant portion of the country, after decades of arguing alone at parties , against tens of statists voices calling me naive, and my wife kicking me subtly to shut up because I was spoiling the groupthink of tyranny. Oh, I have despaired!
For me, this is not the "Ron Paul movement", although I am every so indebted to the perseverence of this man who has been beat up so much more than I for so long and yet he has persisted!! He is a hero.
For me, this is the "Human Freedom Movement". It started the first time a cave dweller refused to give his food to the bully, and was promptly debrained by his thugs. It continued through the pyramid stone pusher who tried to get the other slaves of the God-King to return to their families, and was put to a grisly death. Tyranny has been fought unsuccessfully in Greece and Rome and England and every single human society, and generally it has lost! There seem to always be bullies with enough personal physical or charismic power to force other people to live a particular way, to enslave them, or to make them die for their causes.
The American Revolution was a largest step forward for human freedom. But our ancestors didn't realize how big a step, or how quickly the seas of tyranny would return. Humans have fallen asleep again and the natural tendencies of the tyrannical bullies have taken over our government. Today, they couch their strong-arming in flowery terms. They are enslaving us, they are stealing our life, and they are coercing us to follow in the *their* image.
I wrote an essay this year that there seemed to be something intrinsic to human nature that caused people to want to dictate over their fellow humans so much that they were willing to give up their own freedom in the hope that they may someday hold the reins of the tyrant -- even if they agreed that the probability of their being able to control others was really quite small. That was perhaps my lowest point.

With regards to congress I have come up with a interesting tool still in the works that active people (like the Paulites) can use to track there elected officials that they vote in to office. It works a little like this:(Let's take 1 million people nationwide)
each person creates and user profile much like Downsize DC (if you know about them if not check them out). When you fill out the profile it takes the info and automatically finds the correct Representatives for the user, then the user can actively vote their opinion on legislation and send those votes with comments automatically to your Representatives, here is where it gets very useful... Over time we can build a database for each user with respect to their Reps and their voting records so each user will be able to see not only their own record but how others users (anonymous) voted for each issue. We will finally have a report card for our representatives based on how they are voting with comparison to their constituents.
Then you know who to/not to vote for next time. This is a simple way to create some accountability in Washington and push our movement all the way through congress cleansing any Rep that is not representing their constituents and the constitution.
I am working on a model right now any comments would help.

yes but lets really try to win
We have accomplished a lot, and we have awakened many, but anybody who is truly passionate wants to WIN. Do not give up, and do not be satisfied with education. Our success should only motivate people to try even harder. We need to see this success, win or lose, as a call to action if we really want to save our country. I encourage all of you to run for office. I may even do it, myself. Don't be afraid of the smears. If you are always honest, you will have nothing to fear in a campaign or debate. None of us have lived our lives perfectly, but we have the obligation to stick our necks on the line for our country and our fellow man.

I agree, lets win
Dont take my ramblimgs as a white flag. To the contrary, no-one wants to see Dr Paul win more than me. The guy wouldn't be perfect but we damned well know he will do what he says. But if he gets "only 12%" tomorrow its not the end of the world, in fact its already a huge victory. In Jan he had 0% while Hizzonnor, McLaim, and even Thompson had all of the cards. Just think, we have converted at least a sizable percentage already.

People are becoming educated (including myself) at a rapid rate Freedom lovers are becoming powerful freedom lovers, the blind are seeing. We just need to keep doing what we are doing, keep spreading information, and stick together. Regardless of the outcome of this election, the tide of freedom will continue to grow as we gain confidence. Win or lose, you gus are all awesome.
