Sounds like Rand is out of the loop!

He acts like he doesn't have a clue.

I'm trying to figure Rand's

I'm trying to figure Rand's interview out. At first I got a bit annoyed, then I thought, like you, maybe he was out of the loop. But he's very smart; surely he knows the delegate situation. It also crossed my mind, that maybe we, the supporters, are out of the loop. My final, and preferred choice, is that Rand does know what is going on, but chose to keep quiet about it.

He is aware and informed

He is aware and informed about the delegate strategy in general, because he has brought it up a lot in past interviews, saying it was a story not being shared by the media, and that Ron might have already won some states in the delegate race, etc. Who knows if he is necessarily in the loop on the latest details now, or choosing not to say, I can't tell. But I do think he understands the process, given past interviews.

He's all wrapped up in his own political life

Trying to get bills passed and such. He's a pretty busy guy. I really don't think he knows everything that is going on with the campaign.

He is basically saying

his dad can't win. He doesn't even think it can be a brokered convention. I don't think he is keeping up on things with his dad's campaign.

I think he is not as bright as he seems

It seems to me he is not fully aware of how the delegate system works.

Great interview so far

ONLY 10 constitutionally minded people in the senate????? No wonder we are in such serious trouble.

Update (1:34 Central): Rand Paul interview about to start.

Interview itself is about 20 minutes.

wow! It's been a while since last time he was on.

his last appearance on anything AJ was this, in 2010:

ThoughtCrime USA:
1of2: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zpkn4kfjTJc
2of2: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w4uYdR4O2Vc

I have to assume his campaign advised him to not invite any more unnecessary controversy after MADcow ambush, the 'stomping' incident, and AquaBuddha BS.

It ought to be interesting to watch them catch up.

Do us proud, Rand!
