Cop arrives at wrong address and KILLS dog in front of owner

Austin, TX
Sat. April 14, 2012

"Apparently, unbeknown to Mike, there was a domestic disturbance between a male and a female in his neighborhood, and the Austin Police Dept was called in. Unfortunately (seems like such an understatement), Mike found out quickly about the call when he walked into his driveway from his back yard where he and Cisco, his Australian Sheppard, had been playing frisbee. Police officer T. Griffin, Badge #6778, was standing behind Mike’s vehicle, in his driveway. Before Mike even realized Officer Griffin was there, the officer had pulled his gun on Mike, yelling at him to freeze and put his hands up. In a panic, Mike stated to the officer that he lives there, and asked what and why this was happening.

Hearing the commotion, Cisco came from the back yard and into the driveway, barking at the officer, as any dog would do. Mike’s hands in the air, a gun pointed at him, he was afraid for his life, and therefore could not move or attempt to quiet or restrain Cisco. He told the officer that Cisco would not bite him, to please not shoot his dog. Almost immediately, a bullet was put into Cisco’s chest, killing him instantly. Mike still leaned against his truck, unable to move, was not allowed to even hold his best friend as he took the last breath of his abruptly-shortened life.

Don't you just love Law Enforcement? Their intelligence, as well as, common sense appears to be of the 'Lowest Common Denominator' found in humans; if one just gauges them by their actions, which, as they say, actions speak louder than words.

Killing the dogs is the new standard procedure

It's sick beyond sick. Interestingly, the same tactic was used in Diego Garcia.

I will not visit facebook under any circumstances.

If someone can forward me a Mike's contact email I can show him how to file a criminal complaint and see that justice is served.

if the sitiuation was reversed

the homeowner would be in jail for killing a police officer.

please note that a police dog is considered a police officer with one rank higher than its handler.

Stop calling the COPS

The woman who called the police killed that dog just as much as the officer did. MIND YOUR OWN BUSINESS.

This is your worst comment ever

You post so many great threads and comments, but this was clearly uncalled for. The idiot cop killed the dog, end of story. The woman's life could have been in danger and she did what she thought was best to protect herself.

"MIND YOUR OWN BUSINESS." That makes no sense in this context, but perhaps you should take your own advice with respect to the woman.

With liberty and justice for all...who can afford it.

Nah, that guy is a putz.. I

Nah, that guy is a putz.. I would put that guy in the looney category... his post completely proves my point...

We Need A New Ron Paul Group

P.E.T. (Pets for Ending Tyranny). A "Pets for Ron Paul". Many people consider pets family members... What emotional trauma this man must be going through. This dog was his best friend.

This is unfortunatly not all

This is unfortunatly not all that uncommon. I believe it was the mayor of a town up in PA(I think) that had this happen.
The police department were running a sting operation. What was happening was certain (illegal)packages would be addressed to people that had no involvement in what was happening. Someone would then come pick these packages up and therefore a layer of deniability was created between the crime "goods" and the criminal; the person it was addressed to would be none the wiser.(this is my basic understanding)
Well, the police were watching a certain package and it happened to be delivered right to the mayor's house. Someone came home, and as any normal person would do, they picked up the package and brought it inside. Seeing this as the cue that the family was involved in some way, the police promptly sent in the SWAT teams just minutes later. One burst in through the front door killing one pet right there and then before it could move. A second one came in through the back and immediatly killed the second pet that was actually trying to flee from the sudden noise.(is it any wonder why I would love to have reinforced doors?)

To climb the mountain, you must believe you can.

That cop

deserves to die for his crime.

Whoever trains these guys to pull out their guns when they don't see any weapon needs to be brought up on charges. Peace officers are not supposed to be above the law. They are trained to violate people's rights. If this peace officer new his oath of office that dog would be alive today.

The charges against the "peace officer" should be assault with a deadly weapon. He should do time for shooting the dog.

I do not support the death penalty. The only justified killing is in self-defense. Even murderers should not be murdered after they are safely tucked away.

How can we rise as a society if we act out of revenge?

Agree except for:

"I do not support the death penalty. The only justified killing is in self-defense. Even murderers should not be murdered after they are safely tucked away."

I do, as long as it's STRICTLY reserved for ALL public SERVANTS who violate their oaths; the same punishment for violation of the Coinage Act of 1792, only after a thorough Due Process of the Law, should be applied across the board for ALL 'civil' servants. But, NEVER against to citizenry.

"How can we rise as a society if we act out of revenge?"

True, but so long as only sociopathic psychos want to have govt and control it, they should suffer the consequences of their own tyranny. Otherwise, there's no incentive for any of them to stop what they're doing.

Yes, while that can be argued as being not so 100% Non-Agression Axiom, but I'm a work in progress, and cannot see any other way to end govt terrorists' tyranny, so long as the sheeple actually continue to delude that they 'need' govt, other than the looming reminder of the ultimate consequence for violating the public's trust. As human nature and history illustrate, no psychotic sociopathic statist corporatist hijacked govt terrorist stop themselves, FROM themselves.

If you have other more philosophically sound solutions, I'm all ears, as this is one issue that I've been racking my noggins over for some time.

And yes, it can be characterized that it's a bit hypocritical of me to be against capital punishment for one group, then be for another, which is frankly on a cursory look may seem a bit collectivist. But, the label 'sociopathic psychotic statist corporatist govt terrorists' actually fit the crimes of warcriminals. No public servant becomes that unless they cross the line, just a citizen is not a rapist or killer, until they cross that line.

So what can one say that they actually are exactly as the label explicitly imply. But since one only qualifies if they display such tendencies, I don't really see the contradiction in calling a public servant who goes off the reservation and violate their oath or murder innocent citizenry arbitrarily because they're on a God-trip, as just that: a statist murderer.

IF they have committed such crimes, they definitely qualify themselves to be called a sociopath, psychopath, etc.

Though, I'm of the mind that while the jury should continue to 'vote' on their final judicial decision, but the fate of the actual sentencing of the actual aberrant govt terrorist, to whether to apply capital punishment or life term, should fall on the surviving family members of closet kin. As it makes no moral sense, nor diminish the heinousness of the state adjudicating who should or should not live, just because the moral weight can be divided amongst 12 separate jurors.

And in cases where the victim doesn't have any friends or family, the physical act of pushing a gas chamber button or the trigger should be randomly selected out of the 12 jurors that decided it. Just so that they cannot escape the moral responsibility. Just so that they'll never make such decisions lightly. Though knowing people, there will be the occasional psycho juror who maybe enamored with the idea of physically deciding the fate of another, but they will eventually have to live with themselves one day or another, anyway. In that sense, that is no different than what they're already doing now. Except with the proposed method, at least they'll be directly connected to the punishing act, not just bureaucratically deciding someone else's fate in the abstract.

Life in jail.

Basket weaving - plenty of incentive.

if basket weaving + life term were an actual deterrent,

we wouldn't have warcriminals like GWB, Cheney, and oBUSHma et al walking around free, not in jail, nor weaving baskets.
