R U Inspired To Run For Office?
Perhaps there is none better to run for local elected positions than Ron Paul supporters. We have the network in place and people who truly believe that the Constitution is the supreme law and not some paper to be perverted by greedy self-serving people.
I, for one, am inspired to seek out a local office and I believe that it would be possible to do so given the support network that is in place here. Local meetup groups have the power to alter their local political atmosphere regardless of the outcome of this current Presidential race.
The thing I must stress most is that we don't lose this network once November passes. The change must happen at the local level as well. We have the power to become local leaders in our communities. From those leadership positions, we have the ability to rise through the ranks of elected officials from school boards, water control boards, and other small offices to become members of state legislatures and someday a future Ron Paul sequel ourselves. Also, as local elected leaders, we have the power to endorse candidates running for other local offices or in nearby cities and counties. A school board official can endorse a county commissioner who can later endorse a congressman, who can endorse a Presidential nominee.
So, preserve your local network after November passes. We need to put our own Paulites into local offices if we are to fix our states and local communities.

The latest results indicate
The latest results indicate the importance of having more Paulites in office. Paul would fair much better through these things if he had a lot of political endorsements. He had a lot of fights in Congress just because he was for the most part alone. If he had people in there that were saying "I endorse Paul", then he would have a much better shot.
If Ron loses the whole she-bang, then this is all the more reason to recover the loss in local politics.

I want to. I feel I have a
I want to. I feel I have a lot to learn. I am going to study th constitution and the bill of rights and maybe in a couple years my kids will all be in school and ill be ready.
Very good thinking
The revolution continues no matter what.
Keep the local meetup groups strong and meeting.
Yes,I have...
and today in the mail, for some reason i ended up on a mailing list: and got a notice for the local redevelopment committe election for my area of the city i live in. they'll have two renters, two owners,to organization reps and two business reps. It's a good place to start,as these 'designated redev. districts' are always ripe for city money[taxes]and probably other shuffling around under the guise of doing good.
My Friend Is
My best friend is running for city commission in South Florida. He feels his city has taken away to many property rights with permits. His inspiration was RON PAUL.
Forget Running for Office!
Thats what I say,.... FORGET running for Office.
instead, GET REAL FOCUSED!
Plan A is get Ron Paul Elected. Once elected we all do Plan B.
If Plan A does not work out, WE STILL DO PLAN B.
So whats Plan B?
Abolish the 16th Amendment, the Income Tax.
1) in one swoop we save and rescue the Economy
2) in one swoop we shrink the size and power of the Federal Government.
3) in one swoop we damage the Military Industrial Congressional Complex, thus forcing Uncle Sam to withdraw its boots from the Islamic hornets nest.
4) in one swoop we strike a blow Freedom and Justice everywhere
5) in one swoop we take power from the elites.
GET FOCUSED, focus on the chains around your ankles. Abolish the 16th Amendment. Its easy thing for an inspired grassroots to do. We cannot waist our precious good people filling in doing government work, running for elections and what not.... not when its much better to work from the outside to kill the federal beast. Think about it...
Thats my two cents anyway.

Of course Plan A is to get
Of course Plan A is to get Ron elected. However, we must still consider post-November survival. If we wait until after the election, the networks we have created today will fall apart before we have a chance to ponder the follow-up actions we can do in the future.
Abolishing the 16th Amendment will take more than just one man. I don't think Ron could do it by himself. He would have to get the participation of both houses of Congress to repeal an amendment. I know Ron wants it and will work for it, but the uncooperative hacks in both houses of Congress will be fighting him the whole term. If we rise through the ranks to get into Congressional positions we can be the ones to deliver the bill to his office for him to sign off.
Along the same lines is repealing taxes at the local level. It is very possible for people to run for county commissions with a campaign promising to get rid of property taxes. Voters would go for it because it could revive the housing market locally because it can cut mortgages by $100/mo or more, meaning more construction jobs. It is a position which would get you the support of real estate agents, local lenders, local business who understand that savings would be infused into the local economy, etc. Once you're known for killing a local tax, people will trust you when you say you will kill the state income tax, the federal income tax, etc.

Much more important that
if you want the 16th Amendment to be repealed a lot of us Paulites must be IN THERE to support it. The incumbents just love to tax us and happily get them 'freebies' from the lobbyists. We have to fight this collectively. I love RP to be elected. But if you think about it, the magnitude of this movement, can change the course of US Government with or without Dr. Paul. He is the pioneer of the New Revolution.

Greatly Inspired
You're absolutely correct about this. The true beauty behind people united working together is that any goal is achievable. There is nothing the people of this country can't do, only things that they choose not to. I've been wanting to run for office for years and years, after a promise i made to myself as a kid that if I was unhappy with the world as it is when i reach 35 years old, i would run for President myself. Growing up has allowed reality to set in, yet that goal has never been far from my conscience, especially recently as the Bush misadministration has steadily ruined the core values of this nation. I would far rather see Paul as president, and thankfully I’m still 26, so that task is some ways ahead still, but the thought of holding a local office and truly putting my efforts into helping my country has been exponentially growing stronger. I will start looking in to details about the local positions right away and see where best to apply myself, but I’m not leaving anything out anymore.
I hope i see all of you out there with me, good luck my friends!

Thank you kindly
I appreciate that. I've been doing net searches since i posted, trying to learn as much as I can, and I won't stop there. If you have any suggestions to help me (or anyone else thinking about it) please don't hesitate to offer them. Knowledge is power, give it to the people and all will be mighty.
It's kinda funny, I was born a Missouri Independant, i never thought i'd end up a Texas Republican. Life is a wonderful mystery.

Here's An Idea.....
I'm not "tech savy" at all....But I think it would be an amazing idea for someone or a group of people to set up a website we can all use after the election won by the good doctor.
To have some sort of dedicated website for Ron Paul supporteres after the election is over is CRITICAL!!!
Win or lose WE ALL need to keep in contact with another. Whether it's to help people in their local elections or just to keep everyone up to date as to what's going on around the country.
Like I said, I think this is CRITICAL in order to help the R3VOLUTION keep its momentum after everything is said and done.
Any comments would be greatly appreciated!
Take care,
Tom in MI
Ron Paul is not the Revolution
He is the Love of the Revolution yes, but WE The People are the Revolution. We have already hit critical mass, and we all know that the internet is our tool to restore this great nation. Damned if Diebold is going to stop the Patriots from chasing the communists and fascists out of the white house like rats.
This is a wonderful
breeding ground for constitutionalists. I am ecstatic!

Two things..
CPAforRP
Yes, I too have actually thought about running for office locally. And I am really hoping this movement inspires talented like minded people to do the same.
Second, Yes I think we need to keep the movement going as a group. This will be very important in creating real change.
Good post. Thank you,

I never thought
I would run for office, but Dr. Paul has inspired me to do so. I thought I was the only one. I hope with the network we have developed, we can support each other. The beauty of Ron Paul is that HIS PLATFORM IS THE CONSTITUTION. THAT IS THE LITMUS TEST. Not lip service, but actually obeying the constitution will be the glue that holds our network together.
I am running for office
I am running for committeeman office in Illinois largest voting ward with over 71,000 votes in the ward. The ward boundary is defined by all of the tall buildings of Chicago. I received between 200-300 signatures to get onto the ballot. In fact, I even went to the RP office in Chic. on it's grand opening night. I was very encouraged to meet the group at the RP HQ in Chic. I am canvassing voters on a daily basis with calls and door knocks. It's tough to do because most of the residences are condos and you can't get past the doorman. I will do my best to win considering one of my opponents is a Mitt Romney delegate. My guide is my conscience and the constitution.

NY?
I will, but not here in NY. I'm going to run for local office once I retire in New Hampshire. It's part of a plan to fire NY and move with the Free State Project!
only wish
the office shrinks and better yet...stays empty
I will probably never run for office ....
done too many wild things in my past!
But, thanks to the good doctor, I know what my presidential candidate will HAVE to support:
1. abolition of the Federal Reserve/IRS/Fed income tax
2. hard money
3. balanced budget
4. local decisions rather than federal ones
5. no policeman of the world
6. secure borders
Wild past, eh?
How wild? The best way to eliminate the skeletons in the closet is to open the door and turn on the lights you know.
That said...what do you believe in now? What kind of person are you now? Will you live up the the promise of representing those who would elect you? Live without fear, because fear is THEIR tool.
tell you what I'll support you if you support those 6 ....
for every person running for office, there need to be many more "behind the curtain". I will provide $$$ and work there.
Fair enough!
And you're so very right!

Let's go do it! We need 1,000+ new candidates to hit Congress this year.

I've actually been inspired
I've actually been inspired by Dr. Paul to begin looking into politics. I think he needs some helping hands and allies in Congress :-)

I am
but it will take a while. I'm still trying to complete my masters degree in nursing. I have a double major in management and economics. I have to go hit the books and study our constitution more and American history. I cannot run a campaign based on personal tragedies (thank God I have none). I know of people who gain office because tragedy occured in their lives. In most cases, the resolutions submitted for passing are concentrated on one issue alone - again, based on their personal tragedies, constitutional or not. I can't run for office like that.
