The US Soldier Who Committed Suicide
After She Refused To Take Part in Torture
By Greg Mitchell

September 14, 2010 "The Nation" --
With each revelation, or court decision, on US torture in Iraq, Afghanistan and Gitmo ... I am reminded of the chilling story of Alyssa Peterson.
Appalled when ordered to take part in interrogations that, no doubt, involved what most would call torture, she refused, then killed herself a few days later, on September 15, 2003.

Truth-seeker, for the rest of the story,
please listen to this sound file now:

and then read this document:

Reply here about your intention to take part this 4th of July
in an online writing of the Mission Statement, Constitution
and Methods to be used by the Alyssa Peterson Society.

A man of peace pulsates a new kind of energy into the world,
he sings a new song.
He lives in a totally new way, his very way of life is that of grace, that of prayer, that of compassion.
Whomsoever he touches, he creates more love-energy.
The man of peace is creative.
He is not against war, he simply understands why war exists.
Out of that understanding he becomes peaceful.
Only when there are many people who are pools of peace, silence, and understanding, will war disappear.

If you have a question,
an improvement on the idea,
or wish to play a role in the online conference
on the 4th of July this year ...

Daily Paul is a "Pool of Peace"

Maybe we can get some PEACE committeed people who actually give a damn about what is happening to troops to participate? The article seems dated, but the idea certainly is not.

I get the idea that this is being posted here because the liberals over at The Nation didn't respond????

Now that this is posted on Daily Paul (Welcome to the best open forum I know of), maybe it's not a bad idea to present it to "pools of peace" associated with Daily Paul, like what is Adam Kokesh thoughts about this... or combat vets for Ron Paul... anyone have any links and might we get a project like this happening?
