Ron Paul invited on the Michael Medved show

I should have posted this earlier but I didn't get around to setting up a DP account until tonight. I was listening to the Michael Medved show this past Monday the 16th I believe and just as i tuned in a Ron Paul supporter was calling in. He pointed out a lot of important stuff like the most recent poll which had Paul doing better against Obama than Romney. Medved was then quick to point out that Paul hadnt won any states to which the caller replied that those were straw polls and Ron was doing really well in getting delegates. Medved then asked why Paul cant seem to win any states and the caller replied that he thought the media blackout was the biggest reason. To my utter disbelief Medved said something like, "Ron Paul gets plenty of coverage, how is Paul not getting enough coverage." The caller pointed out the CBS debate where Paul only got 89 seconds of screen time during the whole 2 hour debate. Surprisingly Michael then said that Paul could come on his show and he'd give him and hour, "even two hours."

Considering this is a nationally syndicated show with the 8th biggest talk show audience in the country, I really think Dr. Paul should take him up on the offer.

Incidentally I got on the show back at the beginning of March when the media was really getting people excited about a war with Iran. I just pointed out some stuff like the facts that there is zero evidence that Iran is seeking to build a nuclear weapon, that they are allowed under the NNPT to create nuclear energy and that nuclear energy cant be directly translated into nuclear weapons. I said that these things were never mentioned and I thought there was some serious fear and warmongering going on. He called my arguments "passionate and eloquent" which i'm pretty proud of.

Anyway glad to finally be a member of the Daily Paul community.

Howard Stern would like Ron Paul on too

And I can see how the campaign would be a bit nervous about going on Stern's show, though at this point I think you talk to everyone willing to give you a minute to talk - but with Medved, there is Zero reason not to go on. Medved's audience is exactly who Ron Paul needs to get his message out to between now and Tampa.

MedVed is Trash.

Anytime someone gets on-air and praises Ron Paul, he smacks the mute button and says the same thing every time: "Yeah, thanks for your comment, but why does Ron Paul engage in earmarks if he's so fiscally responsible? John McCain doesn't."

He's thinks that's such a "gotch'ya" point. I wish the caller would know the quick answer: "He introduced a bill to end them altogether, but since Congress rejected it, he takes the path of least corruption."

He's not nearly as bad as some

Admittedly I don't listen to him all that much but Ive never heard him just cut someone off like some of the others do. He almost always lets people talk and i respect him for it.

Thank you for the correct answer

to Medved's repeat of disinformation. Calling him on it may be in order, after we enlighten him. However, we might find it easier to e-mail friends and relatives if he has RP on, then let Medved know we are giving him traffic, and we expect
R E S P E C T for Ron Paul in return for traffic
. (Great barter deal all around) ;)

how are earmarks corruption?

Earmarks are just Congress stipulating how money is going to be spent if it is spent. Right?

What is begun in anger, ends in shame.

He is a huge anti Ron Paul Neocon

The only thing I can think of is,,, ratings are falling.

Exactly

That means that most of his audience is probably neocons, which is the group that Dr. Paul needs to win over.

More Voters Are Needed

There is a tendency for some people to dismiss everyone who is currently not an RP supporter. However, I hope that everyone understands that the purpose of this movement is to go out into the world and spread the good news. Without bringing in those who are current doubters, there would be no value to the RP movement.

I think that Medved is a good talk show host and I enjoy listening to him when I happen to be in the car. But I never liked the way that he dismisses Ron Paul without any logic or reason. He also dismisses everyone who he disagrees with him on any political issue having to do with the two party monopoly.

I agree with you that his audience consists of potential Ron Paul supporters and we should reach out to him - at some point he will have to satisfy the needs of his audience or he will lose his show for free market reasons. We can save his show.
