New Hampshire Primary Today - Thank You Ron Paul!

Most of all, thank you Ron Paul. You are a true American hero. You have set the standard of integrity that makes all of us better people. Good luck today. No matter what happens, this is still only the beginning of our revolution.

How Do I Say Thank You?
by Ron Paul | 1/7/2008

In Iowa, many hundreds of volunteers worked day and night for our campaign. College kids took their Christmas vacations in the snow for freedom. Thousands of people donated to make it all possible. We had many phone calls, brochures, mailings, advertising. Revolutionaries from all over the country sent handwritten letters to every voter, and despite national media attacks and censorship, we got more than 10 percent of the vote. We also soundly beat a certain ex-mayor who started off the first debate by attacking a pro-American foreign policy and the explanatory doctrine of "blowback," the CIA's term for foreign intervention that causes trouble for us in return. The Golden Rule applies to nations as well as to individuals.

And speaking of debates, FOX blocked my participation in its last New Hampshire debate, but I think that hurt FOX more than us. We had a terrifically successful townhall meeting at the same time, and Jay Leno invited me on the Tonight Show again to discuss it. Many members of our movement were galvanized to overcome the bias, including me!

In our Iowa campaign, since it was a caucus, we were dealing with party activists for the most part, not the people. And some of the activists were very unhappy to hear our views, trying to scream them down! Others thought that peace violates Christianity. But New Hampshire is another story. There is a state and a people tailor-made for us. Live Free! Then there are Michigan, South Carolina, and Super Tuesday and its nearly 20 primaries. Frankly, we need $23 million more to have a chance of beating the establishment candidates.

I am working hard for our ideas, as I know you are. The attacks and even smears will increase as we do better. But they will not defeat our ideas. They cannot defeat out ideas. At this moment of urgency for America, with spending, taxes, spying, inflation, and wars out of control and threatening all we love, let us rededicate ourselves to freedom, prosperity, and peace. Already, I owe you all my thanks. Join me in this great endeavor in New Hampshire and beyond. Please make your most generous donation now: https://www.ronpaul2008.c...

Sincerely,

Ron

Hoping for discernment.

I've known of Ron Paul since the early nineties. Through Gun Owners of America I've been aware also of his steadfast support of our gun rights. Following this line I've noticed many of his stances on issues have been well thought out and logically submissive to our Constitution which I've so sadly seen disregarded because of the abusing statement "promoting the general welfare" of the people.

We must be faithful in providing these ideas of freedom and shed the light on that which threatens it. It's so ironic that we've come this far to call Constitutional ideas as "alternatives" to the norm. We must support the man who sacrifices his life's blood to a cause of freedom. Ron Paul has made the commitment and so we must also. This doesn't mean that the people will see what is right. The people will get who they deserve and we all may suffer as a consequence. The nation is suffering from relativism as Dr. Paul had stated in the debates on Jan 5th. If he does not get supported then the issue goes much deeper into the heart of the people who would deny him. I'm praying for a people who just may have a glimmer of discernment to choose Ron Paul before it is too late.

Thank you Dr. Ron Paul for your dedication to liberty and all who assist.

Trusting in Him.

Respectfully submitted.

Regardless of whether the

Regardless of whether the people choose liberty or destruction and captivity, I would like to thank Ron Paul for the effort. It matters no matter what the outcome.

Hello Friends,

I am writing to you to today to express my support for Ron Paul. I support Ron Paul because he is the only real hope we have for this country right now. You might not have even heard of him because he is the true anti-establishment candidate. The special interests, big government, and mainstream media would like nothing more than to muzzle his message, so you don't see him on TV alot. But thanks to the Internet we are still able to hear what our founding fathers intended this country to be. Dr. Paul made history by raising over 6 million dollars in one day. The average donation was $50 to $100 -- this is real grassroots support. John Kerry raised 5.7 million in one day but only after he had won the nomination -- this also involved a ton of special interest money.

**Congressman Ron Paul is the leading advocate for freedom in our nation’s capital. As a member of the U.S. House of Representatives, Dr. Paul tirelessly works for limited constitutional government, low taxes, free markets, and a return to sound monetary policies. He is known among his congressional colleagues and his constituents for his consistent voting record. Dr. Paul never votes for legislation unless the proposed measure is expressly authorized by the Constitution.

He has never voted for an unbalanced budget, never voted to raise taxes, did not vote for the Patriot Act & did not vote to give the president a blank check which lead to the unconstitutional invasion of Iraq.

Our soldiers & veterans have given more in donations to Dr. Paul's campaign than any other Republican or Democrat. Please help to bring this nation back to the principle it was founded on: of the people, for the people and by the people. If your sick of politics as usual and being lied to by those who are suppose to be working for us, then please join me and all the other disenchanted Americans in supporting Ron Paul for President in 2008. If we speak loudly enough we can take our country back!

The smartest people in America are Here!

Folks,

As a Canadian looking from the outside in, I have to commend everyone here for being some of the most astute people in America. Only you understand the real danger that America is in right now. There also is a lot of frustration, and I can understand that. The reality is that most Americans (and Canadians as well) have no concept of inflation, foreign policy or even anything remotely related to Economics. The most frustrating thing is listening to people reason about their vote without even considering the damage of the Federal Reserve or Deficit Spending. It's sooooo frustrating I can agree, as I've dealt with same up here in Canada.

Suffice to say, your Economy (and as a consequence the Canadian economy) is in serious trouble, and I believe you all are aware of that. Our Canadian dollar has gained tremendously on yours not through any internal domestic policy, but rather because of inflationary consequences of the Bush Administration.

Secondly, American statistics are extremely misleading as Job and Growth rates are bullshit. I am the furthest from a conspiracy nut, but seriously I think we can all agree that Bush is tampering.

Spending is out of control. The Canadian economy is running Trade and Budget surpluses and paying down substantial portion of its debt. I never thought I'd see the day when our Dollar was higher and our Policymakers were more frugal. Although, I still think our left-leaning social economy still "sucks" for lack of a better word.

I know I am preaching to the choir, but find some solace that through your acquired or existing knowledge you can capitalize on the failing American system by doing a few things:

1) Buy Gold. Inflation means gold will skyrocket
2) Buy Foreign Stocks/Bonds. You will gain in the market and in the exchange.
3) Wait for the economy to tank and buy American Stocks. Value investing is for the intelligent. Bubble investing is for the sheep.

I love Ron Paul. It's frustrating to see that most people can't see his value. But we need to keep on pushing the libertarian fiscally conservative agenda in a few ways:

1) Get involved with your local Libertarian or Republican party and start working on changing minds and hearts. Work hard for what you believe in

2) Tell everyone you know about Ron Paul, but more importantly how an Economy should run. You can change hearts and minds.

3) Run For Office. Why not, you are all passionate. You can make a difference

Also everyone needs to realize that some of the most frustrated individuals are those that are intelligent when all others are lost. How can you explain to the sheep the Ron Paul platform when they don't even understand inflation? This is a fact of life, but revel in the fact that you get it, you understand it, you are a true citizen. Try to simplify your message and appeal to emotion.

Whether Ron Paul wins or not (I pray for America and Canada that he does) take solace in the fact that at the end of the day you can say "I told you so". Or, come to Canada and we can all work on changing our system up here. Just think how we can change my peace-loving nation into a peace-loving libertarian nation.

All the best to the Paul Supporters, you are my new heroes.

Thanks for the encouragement. It's nice to hear that frustration may equate intelligence!

Thank You Baggio

....for your great post which, of course, is also a great thank you to Dr. Paul and this movement. I pray I can continue to visit your beautiful country and you mine. I pray that we do not allow the North American Union to become another creation of the Federal Reserve or removing the gold secretly from Ft. Knox or any of the other travesties that have occurred while we were being mesmerized by lies presented as facts, paralyzed by media-induced fear, and planned by CFR appointed presidents who are nothing more than front men.

Some of our greatest support has come from the good and awake people of Canada and we know you are awake to the fact that many people all over the world are fighting the same evil or misguided forces that are rewriting not only history but our future.

Keep this topic on top with truth.

Thank you for your great

Thank you for your great post.

I now know who Ron Paul is

OK, don't tear me apart Ron Paul supporters, but I knew nothing of what Ron Paul believed in until I saw the debates. The media had protrayed him as kind of a crank for some reason. Here I am, a couple of days later, after looking at the youtube videos, I have just sent the first political contribution of my life (47 years old male). I also just re-registered to vote after missing the last five or six elections. But I have really not been passive in my interest in politics, I just didn't think it would matter from the choices I had. I have studied the Founding Fathers in depth, reading everything about Washington, Adams, Jefferson, Madison, and Monroe, and yes, Hamilton that I could get my hands on for most of my adult life. That's why I think it is so easy to become a supporter so fast. The ground for Dr. Paul has been completely prepared by the Founding Fathers, and they debated it all and wrote it all in the Constitution. I think Ron Paul just lights a match to a huge interest in America of our Founding Fathers' work, and then he steps back so he doesn't get burned to death by the fireball of enthusiasm that results. I don't think this whole thing is really completely about Ron Paul - he is just the lightning rod. Simple ideas like only Congress has the power to declare war have really been forgotten over the last fifty years. He has just dusted off the Constitution and is saying "Hey, look what I found."

So what does this say about the official campaign?

The best pitch for the movement is the heartfelt grassroots efforts--in combination with having a genuinely admirable and intelligent candidate.

What grabbed Mr. Webb? His interest was piqued by the man in the debate, and then it was the youtube thing pushing the American tradition and how Paul fits into it. This is probably how 90% of us got hooked.

If the official campaign starts utilizing the genius and sincerity of the grassroots--most obviously by publicizing some of the youtube efforts on a grand scale and boasting that it was done by private individuals--they could convert voters like mad across the country. They should be spreading this stuff all over before super tuesday.

I keep saying it, but we need to hold the official campaign accountable for how they're spending our money. Their TV spots, etc., make Paul look like a cookie cutter Republican hack.

Exactly George, that is the

Exactly George, that is the power- tell your friends, family and colleagues, for Ron Paul and the Revolution he represents is real. It *is* obtainable. It has nothing much (as far as I could see), about Ron Paul the person, but about what we as American's are actually all about- freedom and liberty for all. Not selling out to foreign bankers, and the NAFTA.

Thank You George Webb!

for a beautiful and wise post. This is what it is all about. Intelligent people everywhere are beginning to see what you saw and wrote about so eloquently. Also, I believe the owner of this site put this up today as a place for us all to thank Dr. Paul.

I hope others will join you and thank Dr. Paul right here, today and let this thread remain open for that express purpose. I had counted on going to it all day to read people's posts of appreciation and awakening. This is the *hope* for America. Again, thank you!

Willing to give it a go again

I was just about so fed-up with the way things were going, that for me politics in the US was a lost cause. Then, Dr. Ron Paul came into sight. Wow, what a refreshing view!

Indeed, thank you sir.

Here is a little "sub-site" we set-up for your cause, well actually OUR cause (Had not felt that "our" thing in a long time!), including of course the fine feeds from dailypaul.com:

Just a Heads Up New Hampshire....

From libertybroadcastnetwork.org
COMPUTER COUNTED POLLING PLACES IN NH: In the 175 computer counted polling places in NH, observers need to ask any computerized city, on Monday or Tuesday if possible, if they will pull the ballots out of the computer at closing time, and count them AGAIN by hand, to double-check the computer count. (In NH each town has the right to do this under NH law, but is not required to do it.) IF they will or will not pull out the ballots at closing time for a hand count, please ask them why, and record their answer, either in your notes or (preferably) on video camera. In either case, a grocery store-like receipt will be spit out of the computer at closing time. Mark down what the count is for each candidate, and also ask if you can take a picture of the ticker tape-like receipt, either on a video camera or with a snapshot camera, if you are able to do either one. (Then, of course, if they count the ballots again by hand at closing time, stay around for that count, and then call it into your contact at Liberty Broadcast Network, or as a last resort to our 4 PM to midnight conference call line at: 641-715-3200; 1064662# )

Thank You Dr. Paul

You said, "The attacks and even smears will increase as we do better. But they will not defeat our ideas. They cannot defeat our ideas."

We promise you that "they" WILL NOT defeat our ideas even as we thank you for the incredible stand you have taken for our freedom. No matter how NH turns out...and we know the dirty tricks will continue...we are gaining momentum and your ideas are no longer ideas. They are our message...perhaps the most important message on the planet right now... and the message will never be defeated. This message is embedded in all religions as well as in the historical struggles of every people on the planet. And, some of us are beginning to understand the message as nothing short of an emancipation proclamation. Let the people of all races, religions, creeds, ethnic backgrounds and socio-economic levels be free to enjoy liberty as equal individuals and yet as one...We The People thank you. Because of you we now know who we are and we can't be silenced. Truth marches on!

I WOULD SAY NO GIVEN THE NEWS ARTICLE ON DRUDGE

http://www.tnr.com/politics/story.html?id=e2f15397-a3c7-4720...

I hope this a blatant smear and even if some of it is true does not change the policy issues that Dr Paul has made so convincingly. We do need to reduce our foreign military exposure, fix the federal reserve, lower taxes and restrict our borders. Period, that has not changed and Dr Paul is the only one committed to it.

$23 Million by Super Tuesday?

Is that what RP is saying at the end? If we need another $23 million by February 5th, we've got some serious work to do. I maxed out my contributions already.

This is a serious issue that we need to address.

I think it will

depend on what is the outcome today. We can't lose today.

Losing is OK

It's all about momentum. Let the other so-called front-runners rip each other to pieces while Ron keeps on being the same old honest Ron and picking up voters. I seriously believe that Dr Paul has it all planned out. Don't forget, he's very good at winning elections.

Isn't hard

When you consider that every single day the new donors out number the old donors by 3/1 generally this shouldn't be a problem. Donations are increasing daily as new supporters get brought into the fold. Winning New Hampshire would pretty much cement this as a doable as it would bring in a lot of people who are obsessed with following the crowd (yea I know we really don't want these people, but we're gonna have to take them if we expect to win the vote)
