Ron Paul Wins in Iowa and Minnesota, Romney in a Panic

Just posted on Doug Wead's blog...

Ron Paul supporters surged to victory in yesterday’s Minnesota and Iowa district conventions, dominating the process and picking up more delegates to the Republican National Convention. As reported last week, a number of Romney Hawks are now deeply concerned that Ron Paul has already laid the groundwork for similar success in six more caucus states. Yesterday’s results will only increase their influence inside the Romney camp.

FOLLOWUP!!!!!

Doug did a follow up piece tonight.

"A county chairman in New York has commissioned robo calls declaring that all other candidates have dropped out of the race except Mitt Romney."

"In Washington State...The 37th legislative district of King County...a determined King County Chairwoman, Lori Sotelo, instituted a last minute “poll tax” of ten dollars."

Paul Can Take NY

perfect time to do an exit poll.

Quit listening to Wead

He is a master with words and knows how to entice rp supporters into something that doesn't exist. Romney and his crony buddies that black Paul out are very relaxed and happy, because they got everythign they want and Paul did not, except for a stupid, shady 'friendship'.

You really think that is the

You really think that is the case? Sometimes I too don't know who to believe about all this delegate nonsense. I hope that Paul pulls in enough to be heard come Florida. Anything more than that is icing on the cake. Time will tell. I want a Ron Paul president as much and any of you but sometimes it feels like we're fooling ourselves a bit. Doug could certainly be pulling our strings. I just don't know.

Keep listening to your gut as you are doing.

Yes, this is infact the case.

'nonsense' is the right word for gop rules on delegate accumulation. And yes, 'we're fooling oursevles' for a gop nomination. But, there may be a bit time to still win via independent route, where Paul could create a new system without messy psychotic delegate rules.

And YES - Wead is just 'pulling our strings.' Discern yourself from the news.

I appreciate your thoughts.

I appreciate your thoughts. We all want to see this country get back on track and sometime the stars get in our eyes. I believe that the message that Ron Paul is sharing and the young people who have been listening give a reason to hope that things will indeed change in Washington. I had an epiphany the other day. I shared it here but I'll share it again.

I don’t believe Ron Paul can save this country. I believe if this nation elected a Ron Paul president we’d be on the right track to saving ourselves.

Updated post. Doug has a new article tonight. It's a followup to the article he posted yesterday. See new link at top under Followup.

That troll, "tex2" in the comments is funny

That's how a troll should act. Be obvious, be witty, get lost!

Thanx,

I usually dont care about

I usually dont care about Trolls, but I really wish Tex2 would post his address so I could stop by his place and smack him in the face a few times. He has been Trolling Weads blog for a long time. I think he is 12 years old but I would still knock him around.

Yes I wonder

..Does he realize how many people he's convinced to support Ron Paul?
That's the funniest part!

Really. And in Tex2's own words...

"LOL."

Seeing him add that at the end of every comment, actually DID make me laugh out loud.

Question...

How many states do we have "plurality" of delegates so far in? Do we have the 5 necessary yet? If not what states are we looking to to shore them up?

We will have the plurality of

We will have the plurality of delagates in 5 states. No worry there. Just need to keep pushing and make sure Romney does not get to the 1144 mark. Tampa is going to be a blessing! Long live freedom and liberty! RP2012

Confusion?

The first line of this article does not compute:

"Ron Paul supporters surged to victory in yesterday’s Minnesota and Iowa district conventions, dominating the process and picking up more delegates to the Republican National Convention."

National Delegates are NOT chosen at the District level!

Precinct Committeemen elect District Delegates at their District Caucuses to go to their State Caucus. These Delegates MAY be, but are not necessarily in the running to be State Delegates.

National Delegates are selected at the State Caucus - which in the case of MN and IA have NOT been held yet, so to state 'picking up more delegates to the Republican National Convention' at the District level is incorrect, and creates confusion and false hope (IMHO).

(p.s. as an example, I am an 'Alternate Delegate' elected at my LD15 Caucus, going to the State Caucus May 12th. I will be in the running for National Delegate as soon as I get confirmation of my application being received.

WRONG

I can't speak for Iowa but here in Minnesota we DO choose some delegates at the district level. Minnesota has 8 congressional districts. Each district convention here in Minnesota choses 3 delegates to go to Tampa totaling 24 delegates. 20 of them that were elected (possibly 21 because one santorum delegate told me his 2nd choice was rp) are Ron Paul supporters. The remaining delegates will be awarded at the state convention. Rumor has it that we already have 1 state delegate because one of MN'S GOP leaders is a Ron Paul supporter and they automatically get to go to Tampa.

I stand corrected

The difference in the States handling of 'the Process' is what must be creating the confusion for me.

It would be nice if there was some kind of list showing the different ways National Delegates are selected - State by State.

No its not a pretty site at all! But it always has what your looking for. As long as you have the time to navigate the maze of information. But at least the info is out there!

SO proud of everyone involved

SO proud of everyone involved with the Ron Paul rEVOLution in Minnesota! It was a lot of hard work and effort but we overcame all of the obstacles that were stacked against us. Now lets go swipe the remaining delegates at the state convention!!!!

As for 'Romney in a panic' I

As for 'Romney in a panic' I think there is massive evidence that the GOP/RNC have recognized that their candidate is too weak to win and for that reason have taken the mawkish step of declaring the primaries over and moving on at speed to the selection of a v.p. candidate who, they hope, will make up for Romney's lack of popular appeal. This is panicky and foolish--but it means they are going to be ever more desperate to deal with in the coming months. The cheating so-far has put an indelible blot on the party already.

Yes I think you might be right, there is big jump in talk about VP in the media, and lots of Rubio...since apparently he is the Jeb Bush pick.

I saw something cool in the comment section

"Honest Ron" is starting to trend and seems like a great idea when tweeting or commenting about Ron Paul:

"The most awesome idea I’ve heard for this Campaign yet is to start calling Dr. Paul “Honest Ron.” It tells everyone who even sees this tiny, 2-word message that all other candidates are NOT honest… And if they keep seeing Honest Ron used elsewhere, eventually they might wonder enough how true that is to get online and find answers for themselves. (And you know what happens then!)"

LOL! It worked for Abe Lincoln.

I didn't know Abe was so web savvy.

"Honest Ron" is awesome.

If only for a minute......

I could hear the sound of hope.

This only works because

This only works because people work hard and remain involved. Do not listen to the MSM. We are in it to win it. Do not stop to take a breath and cherish these small victories until we are done. Small victories will get us there but we must continue our hard work determined and focused.
