Gingrich may drop this week. Leaving only Paul and Romney.

"Newt Gingrich hinted he may withdraw from the presidential race if he has a poor showing in the Delaware primary Tuesday – a state where he has been actively campaigning for several weeks.

"I think we need to take a deep look at what we are doing," Gingrich told NBC News in an exclusive interview on Monday. "We will be in North Carolina tomorrow night and we will look and see what the results are."

He acknowledged that he would have to "reassess" his campaign depending on how he fares in Delaware, a winner-take-all state with 17 delegates at stake.

The final battle is in sight. We knew this day would come. Paul VS Romney. LETS GET IT ON!!!

It would be nice

But how on earth do you propose to get Romney to sign on to this? He's trying to push the "I've already won" narrative, agreeing to a debate blows a huge hole in the middle of that. And he knows just as well as we do that a one on one debate would be a disaster for him and a huge win for Paul.

I think the best we could hope for is some kind of huge grassroots demand for such a debate and try to spin it as "Romney is going against the will of the Republican base" when he turns it down...

We have plenty of grass roots support and can make enough noise

to force this. If the campaign puts energy into this effort, eventually Romney will have to cave in as the media frenzy that would build from his avoidance of a one on one intellectual meeting with Ron would escalate to where he would have to agree to debate. I think the campaign should make this the number one priority if Newt drops out. It will be the tipping point if we can have even just one nationally televised event for Ron to show his intellectual and true leadership superiority.

Agree, but disagree

*IF* we could get Romney in a debate that would be huge. I just don't think it's doable, the negative press of "refused to debate" is way better for him than the negative press of "not so presumptive anymore" along with losing a debate.

Remember though, that's we're fighting an uphill battle against the MSM who says the race is already over, if we do something, it needs to be too big to ignore. It would need a solid and simple message that's convincing to non-RP supporters as to why this debate should occur ("to help the Gingrich and Santorum supporters make up their minds about the remaining candidates" perhaps). I don't know how doable this would be but getting some Gingrich and Santorum supporters to sign onboard would be huge. And then we'd need some major publicity efforts.

The CNN Squawk Box appearance yesterday made it clear

to me that Ron has enough influence and reach to have a forum to demand nationally televised debates once Newt drops. He has the ability to get this done. His campaign has enough clout to get to the MSM, the Jon Stewarts, the Jay Leno's, the Bill Mahers, etc. If Romney refuses it will become big news fueling the desire of the masses to see this debate. It is setting up perfectly if it gets down to just the two of them in the race.

He can only get a debate if

He can only get a debate if he threatens to run third party immediately. Otherwise, Romney will ignore him (which is in Romney's political self interest).

Sorry, but you are wrong.

Third party is not viable the way the system is set up. That just assures an Obama victory and the status quo remaining in power. Ron will get the debate. Romney cannot ignore him when the pressure builds. He would look like the total fool he is. Romney knows he's in trouble either way which is the beauty of how things are developing and why Ron has been playing the chess game strategy he has employed. He can try to avoid the debate or he can get his ass handed to him in a one on one debate. Either way Romney's toast.

Well....we disagree. If

Well....we disagree. If Romney keeps winning (let's see what happens today) there is absolutely no reason (in terms of self interest) for Romney to "dignify" him with a debate. The only weapon Paul has against him is to privately tell him.....debate now or I run third party immediately. Interestingly, you yourself confirm my point that a third party would be a viable threat to Romney when you state it would assure "an Obama victory."

BTW, the "status quo" will remain in power regardless of whether Barack Romney or Mitt Obama wins in November.

Status quo will stay the same without question if Ron

does not win the nomination and Presidency. That is why the third party is not an option. Tactically, Ron holds the cards as Romney cannot win without Paul, so the GOP is going to have to go with Ron or accept 4 more years of Obama. That maybe the only way the GOP will ever wake up to realize they are just the flip side of the same coin.

Lastly, it does not matter how much the MSM, the banker money, etc. is out to make Mitt's road to the nomination easy. He will have to debate Ron if Ron is still in the race at some point. He cannot dodge this final dagger in his campaign.

The warmongers who dominate

The warmongers who dominate the GOP will happily accept four more years of Obama rather than nominate Ron. Here is the more likely scenario if Ron stays in the GOP: we all have to endure a sickening Romney coronation in August (where Ron might have a token speech) and then in November we are stuck with no choice.

I thought there was going to

I thought there was going to be a debate in TX on May 24. Did Romney decline?

Romney hasn't declined or

Romney hasn't declined or agreed, rather he has "ignored"

which means...

he'll wait to see which way the wind is blowing; if he feels challenged by Paul, he will debate. If he feels he has it in the bag, he won't.

Ah, the silent treatment.

Ah, the silent treatment. Can we make some more noise?

I think the campaign is waiting for Newt to disappear

Once Newt gone, Romney is there for the taking in a one on one forum because Dr. Paul's message can no longer be diluted or ignored. The entire establishment is scrambling right now because Ron is playing this chess game to perfection.

Godspeed Dr. Paul!

Godspeed Dr. Paul!

No, Gingrich will drop leaving Romney as the only ...

Candidate. Yet they have underestimated a little group of people across the states that have already elected a man by the name of Paul. Now what are we going to do with them now that Gingrich is gone and Paul is kicking ass with delegates? Try to act like it never happened? Lol. They are in big trouble folks and they know it. We are in the groove and on the way. Never doubt it!

If I disappear from a discussion please forgive me. My 24-7 business requires me to split mid-sentence to serve them. I am not ducking out, I will be back later to catch up.

Someone I work with said...

...her friend did her own Facebook online poll. She asked all her Demo/Independent friends only(in which were 225) to list if they would vote for Romney or Obama...they all voted Obama. She then asked the same ones if they would vote for Paul or Obama...all but 2 said Paul. That was just her personal poll, but that really speaks for itself...doesn't it???? Just goes to show you...only Paul!!!

You Reinforce a Good Point

made by Dr. Paul on Squawk Box on Monday. When asked why he hasn't won a state [meaning beauty contest] he responded by saying that it's often impossible for Democrats or non-registered independents to vote in the Republican primaries or caucauses - hence the less than stellar showing.

But the reality is, when Democrats and independents are factored in, such as her poll did, it's clear that Ron Paul can and does beat Romney.

We need to reinforce this message - it shows that, in fact, Ron Paul is not only not out of the race, he's actually the MOST electable of any of the Republican candidates when it comes to the general election.

Time to commence

Time to commence operation "smackdown".

He said he would be the

He said he would be the nominee so many times he just can't give it up...

Fight! Fight! Fight! Fight!

This is our race, this is our time. 4th Quarter, 10th Round, Final Lap, We've got this!

President Paul! President Paul! President Paul! President Paul!

The time has come! I am stoked! I can't wait to see those numbers coming rollin' in tomorrow!
