Ron Paul Rejects Boortz Invitation.
I've always been of the philosophy of confronting every problem person head on and not shying away from a confrontational person.
Neal Boortz is a big blow hard but he had invited Ron Paul to be on his show this morning. Boortz just said that Ron Paul is in the media area right now on the Ed Schultz show. He said the Ron Paul campaign has just told him that Ron Paul will not come on the Boortz show because Boortz has said too many bad things about him.
Come on Ron Paul. You didn't back down from O'Reiley, you didn't back down form Beck or Hannity and now you are going to give Boortz the bragging rights that you are afraid to confront him and his arguments. I'm so disappointed. Ron Paul should kick his butt and run circles around him logically.

...of Ron Paul appearing on O'Reilly or Beck, so I'm glad he's finally realized he doesn't have to appear on hostile host's shows. It's not about fear, it's about self-esteem. He's too good for Boortz! Why should he go on his show, I mean, really, who the hell is Boortz? I've never heard of him, and I certainly wouldn't tune into his show unless Ron Paul was on it! Why should Ron Paul boost some pathetic no one's ratings if that guy hasn't even been supportive of the campaign? Forget this! We've all got better things to do.

Good for Dr. Paul for finally putting his foot down and saying he's not going to give that kind of trash the time of day. It's not that he's scared. He has too much dignity than to go down to that filths level.
Seems to me Dr. Paul
is trying to make it to the college campuses to get his message out. Let's face it the young people are the future they need to really understand the message. The reception he gets from the young really energizes him why put up with the BS if he can get a break from it.

The reason these people want him on is to boost their ratings. They know where Dr. Paul goes, a crowd follows. If Dr. Paul is there, I am there and when he leaves, I leave.

OK - Boortz is a loser, a neocon in Libertarian duds, a bully and a hypocrite. But that doesn't excuse Ron Paul and/or his campaign.
As a former talk show producer with friends still in the business, I can tell you Ron Paul stiffed a lot of his media friends over the last 4-6 months.
Here in Toledo on WSPD, Brian Wilson is the most passionate, articulate, entertaining and informative Libertarian I have ever heard anywhere. He once mentioned on the air he used to work w/Boortz at WGST/Atlanta. Wilson had Ron Paul on twice in the last year - but after Paul got into the race, Wilson's calls were never returned! And - to borrow the phrase - Wilson is one of Paul's biggest fans! He even writes for LewRockwell,.com, the main RP cheerleading web site! So why didn't Paul appear w/Wilson? There are still banners and signs all over the area w/Ron Paul on them?
Boortz may be - is - everything that has been written about him here. From the 3 times I've listened, I agree. But Ron Paul and/or "his people" can't say the media didn't treat them fairly when they didn't even take advantage of the media people who loved him and his message -- like Brian Wilson on WSPD. Here's a guy who has had James Bovard on a bunch of times. They're pals! He's speaking w/Tom DiLorenzo at the Ohio Libertarian Party Convention this weekend. I'm not a Libertarian yet - but my wife and I are going because Wilson and DiLorenzo will be there and because Wilson has spoken so eloquently about Freedom, Liberty and Individul Responsibility.
Appearing w/Boortz would have been a big waste ofPaul's time. Failing to appear with Brian Wilson was a big wasted opportunity.

Ron Paul has been advocating roughly the same philosophy for years, and I'm sure Boortz knows all about it. If he doesn't get it by now, he'll never get it. My guess is he just wanted the ratings and to ask Paul when he's dropping out. Ron Paul doesn't need the aggravation, nor does he need to acknowledge such idiots. Don't forget, it's easy to say what you would like to see happen, but the only one who's been taking the bullets for the last year has been Ron Paul....from all corners. F**k Boortz and the donkey he rode in on....Imo.

Yesterday I listened to boortz for a few going to the post office...this young man called in saying that he and his family would end up having to pay more taxes in a fair tax plan...and boortz went off saying never call in until you educate yourself...this young man pretty much new what he was talking about....then boortz hung up on him....NOPE I wouldn't do it either

Neal's Snooze
I recall Neil Boortz with a certain amount of admiration and affection. He is to me like a high school teacher who introduced me to certain political philosophies and concepts but was intellectually incapable of taking me to a higher level of libertarian education. For that I turned to the finest professors in libertarian undergraduate and post graduate studies. Ayn Rand, Ludwig von Mises, Lew Rockwell, James Bovard and of course the late and great Harry Browne. Boortz started to sell out his devotion to libertarian principals in the year 2000 when his contempt for Bill Clinton overtook his ability to live up to his constitutionalist dreams. I started to tune Boortz out then. His hypocrisy become ultimately apparent when he would rage against politicos on the left and on the right until they accepted an invitation to be guests on his radio talk show. He would then go out of his way to cuddle up with the likes of Dick Morris and Condoleezza Rice, appeasing them with softball questions and gratuitous appreciation. AM talk radio in Atlanta and across the country is bad enough without the only so called libertarian voice selling out. Ironically, Bob Barr could do a better job of promoting individual liberty and personal responsibility than his old nemesis Boortz. Aside from his passion to implement the Fair Tax, Boortz’s program is largely insignificant. There is too much non-think filler about Belinda’s kids or Royal’s marital woes. There was a time when Boortz would praise Ron Paul often for being the only member of congress worth who was worth a damn. Now all Neal can do is damn the man he once marveled at. When Boortz admits that he has turned a mental disorder into a formula for a successful radio talk show, believe him. There are those that have worked with him that know it to be true.

Boortz doesn't allow debate
He will shout you down, he likes opposite views so he can shoot them down. I actually like his show, I think it's the best produced show around, but since 9/11 he went from a libertarian to an extremely economically conservative neocon. He used to trash people for voting republican because there wasn't a dimes worth of difference between the parties and used to be very pro-privacy (didn't like the banking rules, etc.). Now he wants to bring Dr. Paul in to skewer the one candidate who would change Washington. Interesting how all these "conservatives" only care about the war. If you take away that issue, he should have every conservative endorsement.

If he can't stand up to Boortz, how will he be able to stand up to others as president.
His image is already persceived to be weak since he is against the war. He is making a huge mistake here. You defeat a bully by standing firm and looking him straight in the eye.

Ron Paul isn't afraid of Boortz. Ron Paul is too good for Boortz! I applaud his decision to have the good sense and high self esteem to be selective about whose shows on which he appears! If Boortz's callers don't understand that, they're idiots, and why should Ron Paul cater to idiots?
