Romney Nomination in doubt – Brokered Convention likely
Submitted by Maeve on Tue, 04/24/2012 - 15:32"April 24, 2012. Des Moines. Two networks yesterday, CNBC and MSNBC, broadcast a little known fact – Ron Paul appears to be winning the Republican nomination for President. When the popular Texas Congressman repeatedly assured supporters that the race was about delegates, not beauty contests, he apparently knew what he was talking about. Now, after three more states locked in delegates to the GOP nominating convention – CO, MN and IA – indicators point to a brokered convention with a possible, even probable, Ron Paul victory. . . . "

I LOVE this guy's comment!
"His strategy has NOT been a brokered convention all along his strategy has been to get the most delegates and WIN. You all fall victim to the MSM's mantra of "RP can't win" which has now morphed into he can't win on the first ballot...which is no longer a mathematical certainty. He could get enough delegates to win outright on the first vote. People are also still flapping their jaws about a third party run...it may not be needed. Even with cheating Romney can't sew this up.We are only half way through this. And as Romney has admitted some of his delegates are ACTUALLY RON PAUL SUPPORTERS. They are bound to vote for him one time only. Meantime along with the openly Ron Paul crowd a lot of politicking is going to go on at the RNC.People like to vote for the winner...and when they see how many people are for RP a lot of the unpledged or open slots will go for Paul. As has already been clearly shown Santorum's people ARE NOT rolling over to Romney. The majority are for Paul.Romney "the presumptive" is more like Romney "the pretentious".Further Ron Paul is taking over the party along the way, the old boys are being replaced and being forced to step down in disgrace after being busted for cheating, running FUBAR caucuses and otherwise being naughty dirty politicians. Taking their place are Ron Paul supporters. The republican party is being transformed and the more they lie and cheat the more people are stepping up to replace them. Putting in a status quo, same as the other guys same as always candidate is going to be much more difficult in the future."

Rick Santorum Interview
Pierrs Morgan kept asking Rick if he would endorse Romney, and Rick said he would endorse the nominnee. Pierrs said something like, well [Romney] is the winner. Ron Paul's not gonna win. Then he burst out in laughter. Rick Santorum didn't laugh and said, he might he's really been working hard on those delegates. Obviously its not verbatum, but there might be something on YouTube. Can't wait to shock the media at the convention.

From Your Comment, Sounds Like Rick Just Might Believe Ron Paul
could very well win the nomination! As we continue to pray to God that Ron Paul win, let us hope that the plan is for Rick to also endorse Ron Paul to help us ensure a win for Ron Paul! Another post said that Santorum supporters are coming over to Ron vs Mitt. Yahoo if it is true!!

no brokered convention needed
1. GET THE RP DELEGATES ELECTED (Stealth Romney, stealth sant, stealth ging, real rp)
2. go to Tampa
3. Vote to change the "bound" rule
4. Win GOP
5. Beat Obama
__else (just continue to fight for liberty)
a nod's as good as a wink to a blind bat
Some delegates have rec'd Romney pledge letters.
My friend who is a alternate delegate in Iowa got a letter, probably from the Romney gang, where they wante4d her to pledge to vote for Romney if you went to the RNC. She did not sign it. She did not mail it in. Also, Romney made the Republican Party chairs to sign a pledge that they would vote for him even beyond the first vote at the RNC. 100 signed, 60 declined. Those who declined were not allowed into a special meeting. But I would say that since the Romney people cheat so much, that if a Republican Chair did sign, he should vote his conscience on the 2nd vote irregardless.
You need to document secret
You need to document secret meetings Romney is having apart from real GOP meetings. I can think of several sorts of legal trouble that might cause, as well as use in civil cases and to bolster lawsuits happening in places like Alaska. This is heading to a Romney trainwreck, and there are people who are going to want easy access to this type of documentation.
And for the support of this Declaration, with a firm reliance on the protection of Divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other our lives, our fortunes and our sacred honor.
Unbinding
Not to be a bummer but the binding rules are controlled by the states themselves. Not all states allow you to unbind the delegates during the delegate selection process but some do...the ones that do would have to be done at the STATE convention not the RNC.
Just trying to be realistic here. We could win on the 2nd vote assuming Romney somehow doesn't have enough on the first vote....Romney not having enough on the 1st ballot, how would that happen?? Hmm... :)
A few things to keep in mind when calculating delegate totals. Florida, Arizona AND Idaho had ILLEGAL winner take all delegate schemes. Even Newt talked about this and how his "team" would challenge the seating of those delegates at the RNC (this was while Newt still dreamed he had a chance to win brokered convention). Those states all should have been proportional and Newt claimed his lawyers would make sure on at least the 1st round of voting those delegates votes would be proportionally allocated....meaning subtract at least 60 votes from Romney's delegate score.
I would assume the Ron Paul campaign will pick up the same challenge Newt planned to do in those delegate seating.
The game is not over yet! Ron Paul or none at all!
"If you put a gun to my head and said vote Romney/Gingrich/Santorum...I would say pull the trigger!"
MAN..how could you change all
MAN..how could you change all the bound rules..?? That would be unreal! That would be government BY THE PEOPLE..it would never fly...could it?
What would...
...a Paul and Napolitano ticket feel like?
+
My DREAM ticket!!!
The good doctor Ron Paul + The wise judge A. Napolitano.
It would be worth the trip to Tampa to see them nominated.
Obm will have NO chance of winning against these two brilliant honest men of HONOR.
one word
Liberty!

Bound rule would have to be
Bound rule would have to be changed at the State conventions in most instances.
If I'm not mistaken,
If I'm not mistaken, you can over ride the bound rule in Tampa with a majority of the delegates. (I would need confirmation on that).

Sounds like a plan
Straightforward, simple, doable.
Count me in.
Just signed up as precinct delegate today. Wife and sister in law to follow later this week. Oh, there was no else contesting any of the four seats in my precinct and I will try to get one other person I know to commit.
Four at four isn't a bad number in my opinion.

I only wish that...
I only wish that this info happened a little sooner...even if the media picks up on it, today's primaries are probably going to swing the pendulum back in Romney's favor...unless we can pull out a victory today...Only time will tell. It would have been much more beneficial to have a few more news cycles before this round of primaries.
