Are Texans really this stupid? Fat chance!

I mean, I know they liked the Bush family (supposedly)...but...A liberal Massachusetts cultist?:

Campaign was 'Suspended'

leaving him a chance to influence the convention

Yes, I live here, and it's true.

In 2008 RP got 4% of the vote in the primary and did not win one county out of 254. I hope they don't leave Santorum on the ballot. I've been asking all around, but can't get an answer.

Article already out of date

In Texas the delegate process has already started, before the Primary. This article assumes Gingrich is still in the race. With him and Santorum out, the evangelicals will have to deal with RP people to deny delegates to Romney. Romney's numbers in the Primary will depend on how gullible Texans are in buying the mainstream media's message that Romney has everything locked up and hopefully that will keep his people at home on primary election day. Folks in my area of Texas support Santorum, Gingrich and Paul. They can't wait for the General Election so they can vote against Obama. Texas allocates its first round delegate votes proportionately to the primary results. Lets hope Romney is the gullible one and really believes he has this thing sewed up and doesn't campaign much in Texas.

They won't deny delegates to Romney

I spoke to a handful of evangelicals at a TX SD convention last weekend and they all *strongly* supported Romney over RP. When I asked why the answer was because RP hates Israel and they don't like his foreign policy. When I asked why they think he hates Israel and what exactly they didn't like about his fp, they repeated he hates Israel and don't like his fp.

I wouldn't call these people stupid, just as misinformed as the majority people. 'Conservatives' watch Fox, listen to Hannity and Levin, and believe they are well informed. Hannity says RP's fp is dangerous, that's good enough for them. Levin says RP hates Israel, that's good enough for them. Most people don't have time to do any in depth analysis or thinking and it makes sense to delegate this responsibility to others. Unfortunately, the likes of Hannity, Levin, and Fox have this responsibility and they do a piss poor job.

An aside, I took a look at the TX GOP platform as well as the national. It's actually not bad and is aligned *very* well with RP's positions. The difference between RP and the others is that he actually walks the walk. I think that's a really good point to bring up when addressing nonsense like RP should be in the LP.

NO

not 'Conservatives', NeoCons= Big Government LIBERALS.....You need to get your facts strait. Ron Paul is a Conservative....

"If ever time should come, when vain and aspiring men shall possess the highest seats in Government, our country will stand in need of its experienced patriots to prevent its ruin."
Samuel Adams

It's information from the grass roots!

'Conservative' <> Conservative - hence the quotes!

Listen... this is what I saw and heard with my own eyes and ears. My facts are straight. Sorry if it's not a rosy picture but it is what is is.

What it means to me is that these people need to be set straight. A political convention is not the place to do it - it needs to be done at the grass roots and prior to conventions. Getting my precinct participants together in a quiet place, like a library meeting room, and addressing these points calmly and quietly would have been the way to go. Without grass roots one-on-one conversations we're not going to overcome the misinformation - the usual 'conservative' (<-- note quotes again) media is certainly not going to help us out.

Maybe my comments will help out in the future. Hoping everyone will come to their senses and choose RP over Romney is just senseless. IMHO.

Peace.

Hope they don't leave Santorum on the ballot

Look at all the idiots that are still voting for him....unless those were absentee ballots that voted before he dropped out.

Many Texans Just Want To Say They Voted For The Winner.

They could give a crap who wins beyond that.

When asked this is what they want to be able to answer...

Did you vote? YES

Who did you vote for? THE WINNER

.

That is all that matters to most idiots, and besides, Fox News said Ron Paul can't win (because of you idiots).

.

If Ron Paul is going to have any chance

of winning anything or even coming close, the campaign is going to have to stop letting "Youth for Ron Paul" decide where Paul speaks and start arranging townhall meetings all across Texas, Kentucky, Indiana, and California where Dr. Paul can get a chance to talk to some of these older Republicans who listen to Limbaugh and Hannity and watch Fox. But, the campaign can't just send out an email to supporters telling them "Ron Paul will be in Galveston next Tuesday night, be sure to come out and show your support [so Dr. Paul can preach to the choir some more]." No! The campaign is going to have to coordinate with the local Ron Paul grassroots groups and advertise in the local papers and radio stations.

YUP---and good luck trying to communicate that to the campaign

when the volunteers hang up on you routinely and your own state regional coordinator treats you like you don't exist and they don't return either emails or phone calls.

Speaking from experience.

This OP

is simple ignorance on display.

Couldn't it, just as easily, have been titled 'Are Americans Really That Stupid?'

Another good question...

...with a sadly obvious answer.

How many times must one say, "Dubya?"

Don't know who this guy is

but i am a Texan and i don't appreciate being called stupid.
Where are you from Mr. Steve Martin ?......

"If ever time should come, when vain and aspiring men shall possess the highest seats in Government, our country will stand in need of its experienced patriots to prevent its ruin."
Samuel Adams

Not calling you stupid...

Relax. Calling the pollsters who believe Texans can be this easily rolled, STUPID!

Peace, brother.

"Truth is an absolute defense to the charge of paranoia."

Of course they are...

Look at the record.

Dubya.
Governor Gardasil.
Kay Bailout Hutchinson.

No downside to "messing with Texas"... the Republican occupation messed with Texas bigtime during The War Against the States, and Texas has been Washington's loyal lapdog ever since.

I am so disappointed you

I am so disappointed you missed Rep. Lamar Smith, Mr. SOPA himself.

Thank you for the down vote(s)...

But tell me... where does my analysis stray from facts or logic? It's all very fine to disagree with me, but why? This is an opportunity to set me straight, not to set me more firmly in my convictions. If the entirety of your argument is just the posture of your thumb, it tends to cement my position.

No irony deficiency here...

...down votes for acknowledging down votes. It's almost like a perpetual motion machine, except it gets input from the outside.
A perpetual emotion regime?

Texans...

...are just waking up to the fact that they're frogs, and the water's about to boil.

Based on the county conventions last week, LOTS of frogs are jumping out of the pot, showing up, and being heard. The county/state leadership was afraid last weekend. They were meek and accepting of our majority. No shenanigans.

We will see if this movement can last through the state convention, but based on the fact that the majority of delegates will be Paul supporters... Well, the odds are good!

Pennsylvania voters too

And I live in the commonwealth, they vote what they are told to vote for by republican cogs in the machine, sad but true....I hope Tx can prove them wrong,,
