Proving what we've known for over 4 months
That it will be down to Paul and Romney and that Gingrich and Santorum didn't have the support to make it anywhere close to Tampa. It reminds me of when Paul himself predicted it after New Hampshire and asked Chicken Hawk and Frothy to drop out saying it will eventually be between Paul and Romney.
Can't Afford Texas...
Time to fold.
Now is the time the campaign
Now is the time the campaign can choose to go after romney in public. Whether they do that or not, I think they lack the money to do it nationwide. They can however focus their attention on Texas and make sure Paul gets a really really good chunk of delegates there. After that they need to go all out in California.
Anyway that is my two cents. And welcome indeed any of you Gingrich supporters. Have a look around and see who else is out there.

What?
R U being sarcastic?
Looks like Romney has the
Looks like Romney has the nomination all sewn up then. Well, unless there's a candidate secretly picking up delegates under the the media's radar and has stealth delegates posed as Romney delegates going to the convention, but we all know that's not going to happen!
What?
R U being sarcastic?
Yes, he is using Sarcasm.
Yes, he is using Sarcasm. Tough to get the vibe through the internet sometimes. Probably 1/3 of "Romney Delegates" are just bound to him by rules. They are really Paul supporters who have infiltrated, and they will be causing good trouble at the convention.

That is good to hear.
Thanks for sharing. No doubt Rombots are well aware of this fact. Is there anyway they can stop or identify the moles?

GOP pressured other candidates to drop out--WHY?
They don't want a "brokered" convention, but the TRUTH is that it will be a "broken" convention with all the Ron Paul supporters infiltrated there...
The fact of the matter is this---Dr. Paul is drawing "record" crowd numbers in the upper thousands which is ASTOUNDING in & of itself, and if we compare to Bill Clinton during his primaries, of which, I experienced first-hand, he drew a crowd of no more than 200 people in San Jose. That's the bay area, folks!
To think that this humble, elderly gentleman is attracting the young, attracting more & more of the middle-aged, and some of the old alike is shocking the establishment, there is NO DOUBT ABOUT IT, and it's only going to get worse, not better for the elites!
"Some of the old alike?" To what point do you rise?
Gentleman from Missouri: Point of order. Seems I am a fair shot older than the Gentleman from Texas... Dr Ron Paul. How-some-ever, I will not hold his youth & inexperience against him. He has more gumption than a...
Speaker: The gentleman from Missouri will please take his seat. That is not a "point of order."
Missouri: Did I mention he follows the Constitution? The primary law of the land. The others dropping out of the primary didn't. I say good riddance. Further, Ron Paul will bring our troops home before they need to retire....
Speaker: Will the Sargent-at-Arms please remove the...

I've wondered this too...
Why would they force out Santorum and Gingrich? I assume they did, even though it's well-known that both were out of money. I still think Santorum badly wanted to keep going considering his numbers. Why would they do that if it means Paul picking up some of those delegates?
My guess is they're screwed either way. If Santorum stays in, we get a brokered convention. If he drops out, it is possible that Romney gets the Santorum would-be delegates and wins on the first ballot. I think the Establishment is gambling on that possibility. I also think it's going to backfire on them. Santorum is having trouble even endorsing Romney (though clearly he's being told to do so) and many of his crowd is coming to Paul. Romney has gained no clear advantage. It's not going to work, and worse yet for them: this scenario may give Ron Paul the nomination on the second vote.
Can I get some feedback on this? What do you think?
John F
Very few in fact..
of Sir Santy's delegates are coming our way. They are like Rombama, delegates, they care more about the shape of other countries and Israel, then they do for their own country. Simple as that. I no longer even consider them Americans. They are but puppets of Israel and big government.
Granted, but
aren't we getting some of Santy's delegates? I thought we made some deals with his people during some of these primaries. His voters are largely from rural areas where we were his main competition.
Also, I have heard that some in the evangelical circles are starting to consider Paul. I was hoping that some enlightenment was beginning to take place, but I know that's a stretch.

Mr S had a crowd? When? Where? I missed it.
Ron Paul speaks before vibrant crowds of thousands... Many times. Many places. Ron Paul has emerged victorious in many more elections than any of his would be opponents or critics.
Ron Paul is very victorious. His message of peace & responsible governance is ringing our Liberty Bell loud & clear. Far & wide.

Gingrich unofficially concedes GOP race, calls on conservatives to back Romney

CRAMERTON, N.C. - Newt Gingrich on Wednesday unofficially conceded the Republican presidential race to Mitt Romney, calling on conservatives to unite behind the presumptive nominee.
Following Romney's clean sweep of all five primaries on Tuesday - including Delaware, where Gingrich had staked the remainder of his tattered campaign - the former House speaker said in a speech to the Gaston County GOP that "it's pretty clear Governor Romney is going to be the nominee."
"I think you have to at some point be honest with what's happening in the real world, [HA!]

Why pre-announce that you're dropping out?
...I don't get it.
Boring guess: accounting and employees
Others are rightfully suggesting that he has finances to optimize (be it donations, bankruptsy, Romney-gift, etc.) and there might be employees or offices to fire/close that need to be done legally while the campaign is up.
That's my boring guess.
Currently consuming: Free Domain Radio; Virtue of Selfishness; Human action;
It Is A Little Easier on his Ego by doing it this way. He
really has no other choice but to drop out and he also needs Mitt to help him retire his debt of millions. He also probably needs a job too if he runs his personal finances the way he ran his campaign. And Mitt will promise him a position some where in government for his delegates.
