Former TSA boss: Resentment of agency ‘dangerous to security’

Former Transportation Security Administration Administrator Kip Hawley told The Daily Caller that the threat of terrorism “is not going away” and that widespread public mistrust of TSA agents is “dangerous.”

“The fracture between the common traveller and the people providing the services is broken,” said Hawley, “and I’ve used the term ‘toxic,’ and I think that is dangerous to security when neither side are particularly listening to the other and I think that is what needs to be fixed.”

I don't have the link, but I read yesterday

that TSA agents at L.A. airport had been bribed to give a pass to drug runners from Mexico.

Thanks for the link

My question is:

Who scans the TSA agents?

He's Just Mad Because

his job is in jeopardy. Of course he'll tell us that the public's safety is at risk if the TSA is scaled back in ANY WAY.

Doesn't he realize that their BS story that the TSA is there to protect the public's safety is just that, BS? On the contrary, the public is actually feeling LESS safe because of the TSA...not from the threat of some unidentified terrorists, but the reign of terror at TSA checkpoints.

It's time to stop this nonsense. Bring the troops home, install a sensible foreign policy, and ratchet back the intrusions into the lives and liberties of the average US citizen, and the perceived threat, such as it is, will evaporate. That's true public safety.

If that is what you need, determine how it might be done.

Work for solution. Repeating problems over and over while never discussing solution is disabling restoration of the constitution. It fits into the sensationalist media conditioning of the last 20 + years.

It is obvious we need an Article V convention, but it must be done properly.

The preparatory amendments for Article V are enough, on their own, to deal with many of the problems. Three mandatory amendments for each American to demand that state elected delegates propose and ratify.

1)End the abridging of free speech
2)Campaign finance reform
3)Secured voting and reformed elections

Then America catches up, figures out what has happened, then a general convention to amend.

Can we stop doing all the things we are doing that we do not want to do while still doing what we need to do?

It isn't public mistrust of TSA agents that's dangerous

It's TSA agents. The worst acts of terrorism are those committed by the TSA in the name of "security" and "policy." Hundreds of thousands of people now refuse to fly, or fly only for emergency purposes, for fear of being assaulted, imprisoned, humiliated or robbed by TSA goons.

Given a clear choice between security and freedom, the TSA comes down on the wrong side, every time.

'Permanent Emergency,' isn't

'Permanent Emergency,' isn't that what all dictators desire, so they can continue on controlling every facet of life? END THE TSA!!!

Is this the public's fault
