Are Americas Waking Up? : Houstonians Revolt Over TSA on Buses (VIDEO)

Dozens of outraged residents attended a Houston METRO board meeting yesterday to express their disgust at how TSA workers were used to interrogate passengers on buses during a so-called “anti-terror” exercise last week.

Complaining of how their fourth amendment rights were violated, residents were joined by several prominent lawyers in an extraordinary backlash against the federal agency and local authorities.

The meeting was dominated by more denials on behalf of METRO that warrantless bag searches had occurred during the drill, labeled BusSafe, which was billed as a counter-terror exercise yet only managed to snag alleged prostitutes and drug users.

Despite the fact that the METRO’s official website stated after the exercise that “Law officials performed random bag checks,” in addition to a press release before the exercise that stated bag checks would take place, METRO officials continued to deny that any bag searches had occurred besides those where the passenger had been coerced into giving permission.

“On April 13, the METRO Police Department invited TSA to be a part of its bus-safe exercise. METRO said then and repeated for days afterwards there would be random searches of bus and train passengers’ bags,” reports ABC 13.

What definitely did take place was police officers and TSA agents interrogating passengers about their behavior and journey details.

“METRO and TSA were going onto the buses and questioning people about their normal routes and their normal behavior, and it just kind of creates an atmosphere of fear,” said METRO rider Derrick Broze.

“I don’t feel like by purchasing a ticket or riding a bus that I have to forfeit my Constitutional rights and my protections and be subject to search or seizure,” Broze told METRO board members. “We don’t plan on letting this issue die if the TSA stays in our city.”

I'm pleasently surprised by the reporting

The news report showed people making lucid and rational points about violation of constitutional rights and the need for a search warrant to look into personal effects. It is great that the public actually stood up for their rights for a change and the media didn't portray them as insane for doing so.

My

favorite part of the article: "...Earl Musick then received rapturous applause after he presented the METRO board with a copy of the Constitution..."

Maybe I missed it but I live

Maybe I missed it but I live in Houston and I saw nothing on the evening news about this meeting.

Thank God..

I was wondering if people were going to go along with this. This is outrageous. Next they will be randomly stopping cars and doing personal and baggage checks.

I live in Houston and had no

I live in Houston and had no idea! This is fucking bullshit; I am so outraged right now!

Imagine what it will be like 10 years from now. Checkpoints at every neighborhood as people leave or enter? Curfew times?

This is absolutely insane!

Ten years from now all of this will be gone.

TSA will be an unpleasant memory, because sooner or later Americans are going to use the Second Amendment and put these goons in body bags.

We hope Americans can be more constitutional than that.

Of course that could happen, but DHS has 750 million 40cal rounds now, which deceived Americans paid for.

Accordingly, simply by agreeing to defend the constitution constitutionally, and asking that solders do so too, TSA workers will have to go have back to private security jobs.

This thread is one Constitutional Americans should post in to keep such constittuional principles as visible as possible. Saves ammo and lives not to mention, rights, justice and freedom.

Can we stop doing all the things we are doing that we do not want to do while still doing what we need to do?

It'll be gone. But not

It'll be gone. But not because the American people did anything brave but because the government will have had a Soviet style implosion and collapsed by then. In a way the only hope for ever seeing freedom restored to America is our enormous debt problem. When the dollar goes (and it will) then the government will fall.

Even a sleepwalker

will only take a certain amount of abuse.

What the PTB do, is probe a bit with a pin-prick here, and a poke there, and gauge the reactions, so they know how much they can tighten their noose at each step.
The over-reaches are intentional, so that they can say they "backed-off" some after complaints, but they kept most of the noose tightened.
Just like a python kills a mouse.

You beat me to it.

Those who make peaceful revolution impossible will make violent revolution, inevitable.

The administration declared the "War on Terror"

to be over. So why is the TSA still in operation?

Because it was never about stopping terrorists. It's always been about a pretext for harassing and intimidating American citizens. They're not going to stop until We The People make them stop.

Americans better wake up!

Your God given rights are being taken everyday by an out of control, tyrannical government. There is no more time and with the election being manipulated (as usual) we cannot depend on any honest people to represent the people. Are you hungry enough yet?
