Mississippi Delegate Elections Today (4/28)

We are having our precinct and county delegate elections today here in Mississippi. It's going to be an uphill battle as Mississippi was one of the worst performing states for Dr. Paul so far. Mississippi is in many ways one of the freest states in the US but unfortunately most people take their marching orders from Fox News and the like when it comes to national politics. The one thing that we have in our favor is that Mississippi was effectively a three way tie among Romney, Santorum and Gingrich. There is a very strong anti-Romney sentiment among Mississippians which we may be able to use to our advantage. Please wish us luck/pray for us to do as well as we can and to turn this delegate effort into a permanent pro-liberty organization/coalition/movement in the Magnolia State.

Mississippian Here

We did very well considering the odds we were up against in Mississippi. On Saturday, we elected delegates to the state convention not to the national convention. It is still going to be an uphill battle but in several counties we carried the entire slate of delegates. In other counties, we did not carry any. We did particularly well in the 4th Congressional District and made some noise in District 1 as well. We also elected many Ron Paul supporters to county executive committee boards where many received offices. I cannot give specific details, because it may hurt our chances at the state convention to get national delegates. But all in all, we did our best and have a chance to move our state in a positive direction in the future.

who did the other delegates support?

In Mississippi, each Gingrich, Santorum, and Romney were supposed to receive 1 bound delegate per county. I know you say that the people chosen weren't Paul supporters. Were they die-hards for one of the other candidates? How did they determine who would be bound to whom in Tampa? Or was there an assumption that only 1 would end up bound and that the other 2 would eventually become uncommitted?

All of that

Will be decided in Jackson on May 18. We elected county delegates to the state convention. We are working on our strategy moving forward.

Maybe you should seek to assemble a "Conservative" slate...

... composed of Paul, Gingrich, & Santorum supporters? If successful, it would get us some delegates and lock out Romney.

A Constitutional, Christian conservative who voted for Ron and stands with Rand

In My County in particular

Out of 5 delegates, we received 2 and picked up 3 out 5 alternates... pretty good for a county that only had 6 percent of the straw vote.

bump again. News?

Bump for Mississippi

Did we manage to snag any delegates for the good doctor?

Well, I found SOME info...

a smattering rather (I wish someone from Mississippi would give an update here). But seems there may have been a little success http://www.ronpaulforums.com/showthread.php?369466-Is-there-...

What are you fightin' for?
Caught in the middle?
Freedom is only for those with the guts to defend it!

Any update?

I think you will do very well in Mississippi, I don't think that Romney have any chance. Have a nice day and thanks for all your hard work.
