Near Sweep for Ron Paul in Massachusetts

We just swept MA district 7, getting the 3 delegates and 3 alternates.

And I heard the same about districts 2, 3 and 5.

We might just sweep this whole state -- and then some.

UPDATE: regarding the sticker issue, just wanted to add that they were handing those out inside the building at district 7 as well. Barring that, the rest of the meeting ran smoothly and without controversy.

Dupes and provisionals

The people trying to put in two ballots didn't steam me much, frankly, I was starving and I was ditching my family for most of the day; I would've loved to give my filled out ballot to someone else to submit and go home.

But, was glad to see everyone on top of everything and all the video recorders at the count.

The seven provisionals, though, kind of suck because the GOP can change the story however they want when they open them. Our team should've brought ten more voters in and then the spread would've been wide enough.

I'm sure Kerry Healy was miffed about not being a shoe-in. Romney will still give her credentials to go to the convention, but I'm sure she never guessed that she wouldn't get the vote.

I wake up to this! Nice! It's important that you don't give away ANY information to anyone you don't know. We have to protect the delegates.

Wow, I had no idea that MA has DC Conventions today...

... or I would have pumped you guys up on my Alternates thread. Sorry about that, and thank you, sons and daughters of the Minutemen!

In fact, I was thinking (apparently mistakenly) that Gov. Romney had a preapproved list of delegates that would automatically be plugged into the delegate slots (since Romney was awarded all the delegates by virtue of his primary win). So... that is not the case? We instead will wind up with Liberty delegates bound to Romney? If that is so, Green Papers indicates that the Liberty delegates will be bound only for the first ballot:

Can anyone help me clarify the situation in Massachusetts? Thanks.

EDIT: I see that digthat27 shares my new understanding concerning our delegates.

Speaking for my own district

Speaking for my own district #5, we had a Liberty Slate with 3 delegates/3 alternates, a Romney Slate, and other individuals seeking to be delegates/alternates, no automatic appointments. The people on the Liberty Slate won every delegate and alternate position. Yes, they are bound to Romney in the first ballot.

Totally AWESOME...isn't this

Totally AWESOME...isn't this O'romney's home state too??? LOL...let the PEOPLE be heard!!!

In MA District 5, there were

In MA District 5, there were 194 voters and each person got 3 votes.

For delegates, there were a total of 532 votes counted. All 3 delegates on the Ronald Regan Unity Liberty Slate won, with 102, 100, and 99 votes each. There were 9 others running for delegate (amongst the Romney slate and others), with 59, 52, 49, 27, 18, 9, 8, 8, and 1 vote each. Many establishment Republicans left unhappy after that.

For alternates, there were a total of 445 votes counted. All 3 alternates on the Ronald Regan Unity Liberty Slate also won, with 91, 88, and 86 votes each. There were 7 others running for alternate (amongst failed Romney delegates and others) with 52, 45, 44, 21, 9, 6, and 3 votes each.

Although all these delegates will have to represent Romney in the first round of voting, it was a good day for Ron Paul and the liberty movement in Framingham, MA!

P.S. I sat next to a RP coordinator who said similar results were coming in from other districts as well.

District 1

We definitely took 2 out of 3 in District 1...depending on how the provisional ballots go, we could take 3 out of 3!

First they ignore you
Then they ridicule you
Then they fight you
Then you win

Long live Ron Paul supporters!

Thank you for your hard work!

bump, for a great job.

bump, for a great job.

One gentleman who was a long

One gentleman who was a long time activist in the GOP was running for alternate but knew from the outcome for the delegate vote that he didn't have a chance mentioned that it was clear that there were many Ron Paul advocates present and he wanted us to know that he agreed with 85% of Ron Paul's positions.

The establishment candidates in the fifth district got about fifty votes while the Ron Paul candidates running on the Ronald Reagan Liberty Unity Slate got about 100 votes each. In 2008 there were only about 100 votes cast altogether while this time the total present approached over 400 to 500.

Two GOP candidates are running in the primary to challenge Markey for Congress. Markey has been in office for 36 years and lived in MA for only one year but lives in D.C. vicinity for the last 35 years.
Markey just voted against welfare reform.

It was exciting to win the delegates in the 5th district in MA. IF we win seven of the nine districts that means we could choose the chairman of our MA delegation too.

No Man's need constitutes an obligation on the part of another man to fulfill that need.

MA 5th

I was in Framingham for this. Sweeping the 5th district by a large margin was awesome. What made it even better were the two old ladies next to me who couldn't figure out what happened. Then 10 minutes later one of them muttered, "It's those damn Ron Paul people."

This is all Romney's Campaign Fault

This is what happen when you have a candidate like Ron Paul that is delivering a message that people who hear and believe in, will come out do whatever it takes to be part of process to help him get the nomination. Unlike Romney Campaign that is relying on the Establishment Status Quo folks to come out to support him, who delivering the same old tired rhetoric that only produces apathetic voters, who won't take the time out of their lives to help him get the nomination.

Well, in all fairness, it's

Well, in all fairness, it's hard to be enthused about a puppet that gets his strings pulled by the establishment, msm, etc. How disappointing that Marco Rubio is going down the same path.

Yeah, first Rubio Used The Tea Party

to get elected to the Senate in 2010...Now he has stabbed the Tea Party in the back and endorsed RINO Romney...

Such a disgrace...Like Governor Haley in South Carolina...Couple of turncoats...

"natural born citizen" still an eligibility issue for Rubio

Since neither the Democrat nor the Republican Party take the Constitution seriously anymore only Ron Paul and his supporters pay any attention to the oath of office and the details regarding the powers granted to the Congress by the Founders. The Founders also saw to it that no foreign disinherited royalty would be able to aspire to rule in America by including the natural born citizen clause which held that only a citizen born of two citizens would be eligible to become president.

See Vattel's The Law of Nations widely read and quoted by the Founders.

Neither Obama nor Rubio are natural born citizens. Obama's father was a Kenyan and a British subject and Rubio's father had not yet become a citizen when Rubio was born.

No Man's need constitutes an obligation on the part of another man to fulfill that need.

That is What Happen When the Tea Party Gets

That is what happens when the Tea Party gets hijack /simulated into the GOP. Notice that the Tea Party isn't as vocal since 2010 elections, just like the anti-war movement got quiet since Obama was elected. These groups are out there but won't go against the Status Quo of their respected Parties.

Real Tea Party people votes for Ron Paul

explanation

I use thegreenpapers.com as a source for the rules, not the info on the delegates. Reading the rules stated here:
http://www.thegreenpapers.com/P12/MA-R#0428

What impact does the sweeping of district conventions have? Is it to have the extra delegates in the second round? Or is that info sensitive?

Anyhow, great work because every delegate counts. Thanks for letting us know!

This is great news.

YES!

Thank you for your hard work and dedication! In CO, pom-poms out cheering you on!

I know we got the 3 delegates

I know we got the 3 delegates for district 3, fairly sure we got the alternates too.
