Near Sweep for Ron Paul in Massachusetts

We just swept MA district 7, getting the 3 delegates and 3 alternates.

And I heard the same about districts 2, 3 and 5.

We might just sweep this whole state -- and then some.

UPDATE: regarding the sticker issue, just wanted to add that they were handing those out inside the building at district 7 as well. Barring that, the rest of the meeting ran smoothly and without controversy.

Thanks for the video link, FreedomLovingPatriot

General update...

UNOFFICIAL COUNT = 16/27 [16/41], with 5 outstanding, in D1, D6, and D9.

D1 2/3 (Waiting on provisional ballots?) [Stickers used]
D2 3/3
D3 3/3 [Stickers used.]
D4 0/3 [Stickers were used, but they weren't challenged.]
D5 3/3
D6 2/3 (Waiting on provisional ballots?) [Stickers used.]
D7 3/3
D8 0/3 [Stickers used.]
D9 0/3 (Yet to report?)

-- Holbrook noted D8 went to Romney.
-- RD4RP2012 noted D4's use of stickers wasn't challenged, for the sake of avoiding pettiness.
-- petrafan007 & Kevin McKernan noted provisional ballots are in play for D1 and D6.

Regarding the stickers, somebody should snap a picture of these things, so others know what to expect in the future. If they're more influential than first thought, they might need to be challenged in the future, to nip those things in the bud before they grow out of control.

Video of the stickers

Video of the Stickers can be seen here. Not the best res. I have a HD version Im working on.

Had to delete 2.5Gb of music on my iPhone to continue filming this as I ran out of space:)

Scratch out with Intent?

What does that mean? Just curious. The guy on your video keeps saying scratch out with intent.

"If you put a gun to my head and said vote Romney/Gingrich/Santorum...I would say pull the trigger!"

Sorry, I had a hard time counting to 5! =/

I noticed I said "4 outstanding", but it should have been "5 outstanding": 2 are still unsettled due to provisional ballots, and 3 have yet to be settled in D9.

(I just edited the post to reflect that correction.)

That means, Ron Paul can still take a majority in Massachusetts, depending on however those 5 land.

I'm sure some people may have noticed my error on their own, but I felt I should point it out anyway, for the sake of those who breezed through and didn't catch it like I didn't catch it.

That aside, what is going on in District 9? D9 does exist, doesn't it?

Please Confirm Greenpapers Delegates Are Right

Greenpapers says different names for CD - 1 Delegates than the article linked here...

Article says these guys won CD - 1 "Ronald Crochetiere (112 votes) and Marcel Burque (97 votes)"

Greenpapers says -

Congressional District 1

Janet Garon - DELEGATE
Rich Berrena - DELEGATE
Kevin Jourdain - DELEGATE

Any updates on CD 4 and CD 9? Thanks and congrats Liberty lovers!

"If you put a gun to my head and said vote Romney/Gingrich/Santorum...I would say pull the trigger!"

Greenpapers is still just showing the romney slate, it looks like they haven't updated the names based on today's results.

Kevin Jordain came in 2nd to last on the primary delegate voting and LAST in the alternate delegate slot. LOL!

Wait, he lost first round,

And decided to run as an alternate? Wow, way to screw your own slate! Same thing happened in dist. 6. How can we know not to do that, but the politicians do not? Pride?

We needed only 9 more people

We lost the 3 delegates in district 8 and each delegate lost by less than 10 votes from the numbers I got.
I hate to post that but I do want to keep the record updated.
There were 263 people there who voted.
I believe there were 9 provisionals ( don't know if that will change anything)
Hopefully, someone will be posting the actual numbers.

Also the Romney camp used "stickers"

" In Thee O Lord do I put my trust " ~ Psalm 31:1~

We will only be hearing good

We will only be hearing good news as long as Dr. Paul is in the race, you have my word on this.

I'm not surprised at all, this is what I have been telling all the time. :)

Great news and fantastic and

Great news and fantastic and in MA of all places! Boy I needed this today - I've been in "discussions" (respectfully of course) with a socialist and a pro-TSA person today. One who was rude and has it in for "rich" people, and one who would give up the rights of children to "secure her safety".

Also, please donate to his

Also, please donate to his campaign! I get paid on Monday and am sending what I can. It's more important than ever to keep this campaign going til the convention!

Thank you MA!

Great Job!

Great News

I am a supporter from MA drive around with a big don't let the media decide Ron Paul vynil on my back window don't get that many thumbs up or beeps thought this state just did not care.

Funny as hell Romney is getting beat here stick it to em.

A beep

and a thumb up to you my friend! Always looking for those RP stickers and we do a lot of driving. There was a great billboard in RI on 95N "Don't vote for the lesser of two evils again"...says it all.

Bound delegates can abstain on the 1st ballot in Tampa

The Alternates are then used.
The 1st alternate might also choose to obtain, so the next would be brought up .....

Do other states have rules like Ma. I.E. The actual delegates sent to Tampa are chosen in a caucus or a meeting after the primary?

"In the end, more than they wanted freedom, they wanted security. They wanted a comfortable life, and they lost it all -- security, comfort, and freedom. When ... the freedom they wished for was freedom from responsibility, then Athens ceased to be free."

only time an alternate can be used is if a delegate steps outside the delegate area, for no other reason.

A delegate cannot be removed for not voting.

A bound delegate only promises to vote for his/her candidate if he or she votes, which basically means you cannot vote for someone other than who you were bound to for the first round. Not voting is abstaining. It's legal

OK - if that is right

it is even better.
The question remains can this sort of thing happen in other states?

"In the end, more than they wanted freedom, they wanted security. They wanted a comfortable life, and they lost it all -- security, comfort, and freedom. When ... the freedom they wished for was freedom from responsibility, then Athens ceased to be free."

Simply Put - A "Bound" or "Pledged" Delegate Is Comparable To

A Politician Who Makes A Promise To Vote A Particular Platform Once Elected To Office...Essentially a campaign promise... In the end you cannot force a delegate to vote one way or another whether it's first ballot, second ballot, whatever ballot. Your Vote=Your Right. It's called VOTING RIGHTS!!! As delegates we simply are exercising our voting rights. Also the Bill Of Rights addresses the issue of binding and supersedes the election code, see below:

The Fifteenth Amendment (Amendment XV) to the United States Constitution prohibits each government in the United States from denying a citizen the right to vote based on that citizen's "race, color, or previous condition of servitude" (for example, slavery). It was ratified on February 3, 1870.

Part of Speech: noun
Definition: slavery
Synonyms: bondage, bonds, chains, confinement, enslavement, obedience, peonage, serfdom, serfhood, subjection, subjugation, thrall, thralldom, vassalage, yoke

Part of Speech: noun
Definition: sign of good faith
Synonyms: bail, bond, collateral, deposit, earnest, gage, guarantee, guaranty, pawn, security, surety, token, warrant, warranty

Part of Speech: adjective
Definition: obligated; destined
Synonyms: apprenticed, articled, bent, bounden, certain, coerced, compelled, constrained, contracted, doomed, driven, duty-bound, enslaved, fated, firm, forced, having no alternative, impelled, indentured, intent, made, necessitated, obligated, obliged, pledged, pressed, required, restrained, sure, under compulsion, under necessity, urged

According to the Bill Of Rights "Bounding" or "Pledging" to effectively limit voting Is Unconstitutional and therefore Unlawful and Unenforceable or Null And Void if written into the election code or any other code...

People, people.....hold on.....

Am I reading this thread correctly? Are we sweeping Romney's old fiefdom?

You Betcha'

Romney used to be governor of Massachusetts. In other words, Romney is eating crow. (((Grin)))

Is this the current standing?

So far, of 9 districts (?), Paul took...

D1 2/3 (?)
D2 3/3
D3 3/3
D4 0/3 (Under challenge due to use of stickers?)
D5 3/3
D6 2/3
D7 3/3
D8 0/3 (Yet to report?)
D9 0/3 (Yet to report?)

Is this much accurate?

ROMNEY stickers used at district 3.

Pro Romney people were using stickers in D6 today.

The Romney camp was using stickers today at the District 6 conventions.

If they were using them, then the Paul camp should have been able to use them in District 4.

Priniciple over Party!

Romney stickers in district 7

Romney stickers in district 7 as well. The woman handing them out said, "it's just easier than having to write those names down." I didn't know they were illegal, but I guess it really doesn't matter now.

I should also give some props, I guess, to the people running the show. There were no snafus or arguments or controversies. It all went pretty smooth with no commotions.

It's a great day to be FREE!

Is there an active challenge

Is there an active challenge for D4? I would love to see that

I was at D4 caucus

and one of the Liberty delegates told me "we dont want to appear petty in challenging the use of sticker's". The neocons came prepared, are they already dipping into that gop pot o' money?
