We don't even know how many military bases we have!

While reading Charleston Voice's post,
http://www.dailypaul.com/229742/russia-expects-a-war-against...
I read that the US had several bases in Azerbaijan. This was news to me so I tried to find out exactly where our bases really are. I found this:

What do you guys think?

Having read about this

Having read about this subject for several years I know it's true that nobody has an exact number. The late Chalmers Johnson put it at 800 bases in 140 countries so it's at least that now. I recently read one that said there are only 41 countries where the US doesn't havea military presence.

I don't think anyone could deny that the US government garrisons the globe. In my opinion the US government aspires to be THE one world government. It will go broke and crash the currency before that can happen of course but the precedents our government sets will be cited and will be the foundation upon which the next domineering world power will be built.

That sounds like a realistic number.

The article said between 500 and 1100, so... 800-ish. I know back in the 70's there were 66 bases in South Korea alone (tiny country). On cargo planes (I was a crew chief) the mission sometimes took you to secret bases in the Sahara desert only called 'Base X'. Who knows about how many of those there are.

BTW, congrats next door in La. (Houston here).
